This is the exact reason I don't like driving. I've had 3 cars going the opposite direction as me, all pass a school bus at the same time when the first car wouldn't have made it if I hadn't hit the breaks. It never fails to amaze me how many stupid people are driving.

My problem is that it’s never the reckless driver that gets injured by their actions. They end up ending someone else’s lives or changing it permanently, and they get to walk away having permanently effected someone who had nothing to do with them
I remember someone on TV (probably one of those cop shows) here in Denmark saying that if you want to get away with murder you should should get drunk and drive a car into people.....
My friend was going 120mph, and his car wrapped around a tree. There was so little left of him that his family struggled to get ashes. Drive safe. Your life is worth so much more than clout.
As a very avid car enthusiast. There are 3 kinds of people that are generally frowned upon in the car scene 1. People weaving in traffic at high speeds 2. People who takeover intersections and do donuts for clout 3. Streetracing in neighborhoods or being loud in neighborhoods. It is an unspoken rule that you drive out 20 miles away from town to do this dumb shit with your friends where the only person you are putting at risk is yourself. As someone who has done 100+ on a public road (and yes I know it was dumb but I was in a charger and so, ya know) I only did it because I was 30-50 miles out of town, the road was literally entirely empty of traffic and was completely straight with clear weather. Outside of circumstances like that, I would never ever drive like these idiots.
My friend died about a year ago, walking on the correct side of the road with safety lights, she was with her little sister, and some asshole was driving recklessly, passed his friend in a different car, and struck her going way over the speed limit on the wrong side of the road. He hasn't been charged with anything and still runs his mouth saying they were in the middle of the road (they were not, Theresa walked everywhere, she wouldn't walk in the middle of a road at night with her 14 year old sister, and there were witnesses anyway.) I hate these types of people because it's much more likely that they end up killing or hurting someone else, rather than themselves.

My mom’s dad died from a reckless/drunk driver in a head on collision in 1986. His death totally shattered her and her mom’s lives, and it was a super hard time for them. I couldn’t imagine going through that myself. These idiots don’t realize what they’re doing could totally destroy someone’s life, (they probably do, but they don’t care,) and kill somebody. As a car guy, it's embarrassing to even be into cars anymore. I never go out and meet new car people just because it's all such a joke. No real "car person" does burnouts in intersections, or does dumb shit flexing daddies money, it's disgusting
I've heard automatic is better now a days because the computer can shift better and more efferently then a human. And I think manual is harder to find these days too.

i havent been t-boned but ive wrecked....and even tho i was driving the times i wrecked, as the years have went by, ive developed this thing where riding with anyone or even anticipating it gives me crazy anxiety. Like, i have to be in a situation where i absolutely HAVE to ride with someone else for whatever reason for me to get in a car in which someone other than me is behind the wheel. It used to annoy some of my friends several years back but as ive gotten older im just up front about it and tell em im driving or im not going lol. Also not only do i have to drive, but its gotta be my car. I just cant take not being in control of my own situation in any way anymore, unless there is some awesome payout or something.

They do, there was a youtuber who did like 200 on the highway and got arrested. Cops in Cali are arresting people who participate in sideshows after the fact as well, it's happening but like the other guy said, they need a face too.
Love the idea of driving fast, but on tracks or completely empty roads at like 2 a.m. living in a place where roads between towns are empty by midnight is something im grateful for. Seeing another car immediately makes me slow down to speed limit if im going over.
i hate people that drive like this because it reflects really badly on the car community, not everyone that drive a modified cars or expensive fast cars. Not everyone in the car community drives like that which it gives the car community a really bad image.

We mostly are just normal folk trying to enjoy our cars and hang out with people who think the same as us. Plus there is also normal people who can pose a treat threat to roads when driving (lane hoggers, road ragers, drunks etc)

Someone hit me on the highway in January because he wasn't paying attention when traffic stopped on my way home from work. It took a couple of weeks for me to fully recover and now I have horrible PTSD because no matter how good of a driver you are, you can't control the other cars around you.

@@DerFettePandaLP could also be an aversion from driving. i was in a car accident where a person going the wrong way and trying to merge in with traffic rammed into my driver’s side door. he didn’t even stop scarping my car until i stopped. and he ganged up with his acquaintances to coerce some money out of me, saying that i damaged his car. i was younger and it was early in the morning, and perhaps people just didn’t want to get involved. i tried calling the police but the calls weren’t going through. after that, i slowly started becoming averse to driving, to the point that i’ve stopped driving completely.

This guy needs to be arrested ASAP. Like Charlie said: it's not a matter of "if", it's a matter of "when". He clearly doesn't value his own life, so every second that he's on the road is a danger to all the people around him.
And this goes without saying but "all the people around him" includes pretty much anyone he has ever passed on the road. At those speeds chances of survival of anyone involved in the very-likely accident are pretty much ZERO, and the crash itself will likely be very violent, unless he crashes into a solid enough brick wall (let's hope that's all that happens, and that he's the only "victim" of his own actions).

I used to work at a shoe store, and a 20-something year old guy once pulled up in a very expensive car and bragged to me that he had just outrun the cops and almost hit someone. I was so stunned and confused that I blurted out, "you just outran the cops and almost killed someone to come to a shoe store?" He got super red in the face and was suddenly very timid, all of the bravado gone, and he picked a pair of shoes at random, bought them, and left. He didn't even try them on. It's funny how these people always crumble when there aren't any twelve year olds around to fawn over their exploits.
How he hasn’t been pulled over by the police yet is the most luck he’s ever gonna experience, I would’ve been stopped within 10 seconds if I drove like that where I’m from.

Reminds me: my driving class teacher used to be a cop, and one person she had to chase was on some hard drugs. They crashed their car, got out and ran away. She said that their legs flailed around as they ran. They just couldn't feel how broken they were, I guess.
This is the kind of guy who crashes, gets people k*lled but survives himself, and lives with what he did. Then cries about how guilty he feels after and how much he changed from it, but everyone will remember every moment now he said he does not care whenever people tell him he will either die or get others hurt
I think most of these kids are psychopaths in the literal, clinical sense of the word. They aren’t capable of feeling remorse. They should be banned from operating motor vehicles for life and they need psychiatric treatment.
I remember about last year my dad told me about this awful crash that happen, a guy drunk driving in daylight was driving at about 180mph, he got to a red light and just tried to go straight through it, he ended up hitting a car of a mom dad and two children, he hit their gas tank almost instantly engulfing both cars in a fireball killing everyone in both cars, all of this was caught on a security camera at a store at that intersection. I just felt like sharing this story because this guy is going to end up dead in some way like this while taking other innocent people with him 😔

I'll admit that when I was younger (nearly 20 years ago) I used to drive like an absolute arsehole. Until one night in a pub my friends and I saw a downbeat dude sat in the corner looking real beat drinking on his own. So we decided to go over and try and perk up his spirits a bit. He told us this story... "I work as an ambulance driver and got called to the scene of an accident. Once I got there I saw 2 cars, the one on front that got hit by the other from behind. Checked to see if anyone there needed medical treatment. Other than just some broken bones and whiplash there was nothing really major so I left them in the care of the police while I went to check on the other car. In that car was a dead passenger as per usual and the driver who had survived but with pretty bad injuries asking if her child who was in the back seat was ok. I peered into the back to see the torso and limbs secure in the child's safety seat. But! there was no head... Soon after one of the officers came to me after finding the child's head. It went through the windscreen of the offending car into the back window of the other and landed in the rear footwell of the front car" This did 2 things to me. It straight up put a stop to me wanting to be an emergency response driver and at the same time I never drove like and arsehole again.
I got pulled over once and I stopped speeding especially after losing a few friends due to accidents. Very heart breaking situations, if you have the money take it to the track to speed and do something really impressive. I really hope people learn to slow down on the road.

As someone who's active in the car scene, it sucks seeing things like this get more popular. Endangering other people's lives, street takeovers etc. it gives car enthusiasts a bad rep. It's fun to go to a meet and talk with other enthusiasts or go to a track day, but there needs to be a sort of community enforced limit of what's ok.
There already is a limit and it’s called not being an insufferable asshole. That guy isn’t part of any community in real life, the internet makes people with sick and dumb habits feel accepted. He needs a good old ass whoopin before he kills an innocent person.

I'm not a car guy but my best friend is, he races and drifts regularly and I've seen some POV videos of his driving and it's really cool. The difference is that my friend's videos all take place on actual tracks that were meant for this kind of driving
I don't drive fast, but hearing "just go to the track" annoy me so much, in my country a single session at the track a month is too much for most people to afford. I don't care about tracks, but if I wanted to I could go maybe twice a year. How is that an alternative to driving fast on the road ? It's about as smart as telling someone to buy a plane if they don't like traffic...

In my hometown about 4 years ago, some rich kids went on a joyride in one of their parents' Porsche. The one behind the wheel drove so insanely that he ended up sending it through the second floor of a building's brick wall and only killed both of themselves because the building was unoccupied. I'll never understand how people don't truly grasp or care about the immense responsibility and privilege driving a car is.

Every day when I walked home from school, there were always people just speeding down my street like they don't care about their own lives. I was always terrified that I might be their first victim.
Being someone who dated a guy like that and been traumatized by the reckless driving not just by him but also by some of his friends; I am glad I am not the only one that feels this way.
I get a feeling of anxiety when driving automatic due to my left foot serving no purpose. I like manual for that reason. Still need to practice manual chokes though. Planning to work on getting a 1955 F350 running again, so I'm going to have to touch up on my choke operation.
The worst part is they get legitimately angry when other drivers don't stay completely in place relative to other traffic. I saw a video of a guy swerving through traffic when somebody in front of them changed lanes, causing the UA-camr to slow down. The entire comment section was flooded with people saying how unsafe that guy was and how he shouldn't be allowed to drive
I used to do time attacks on mountain roads. Driving a car to the limit is exhilarating, but it's also extremely dangerous, and if you do it on a trafficked road or in a residential area, then you are just a criminal. When I did my runs I always did them at 2-3 am precisely because I wanted to minimize the chance of meeting other cars, and I would always slow down when approaching towns, because even though on a mountain at 3 am it's extremely unlikely to meet people outside (and indeed I never met one), I didn't want to take any chances. And then obviously there's a matter of skill. I spent countless hours learning how to keep control of the car, how to handle oversteers, understeers, how to heel-toe, and in general how the car responds and what are its limits, and thanks to that I never had accidents while running, because I knew exactly what I was doing (I scraped the paint off of the side mirrors a few times but that's about it). I highly doubt these guys know how to handle the car if the traction control fails, driving on straight roads teaches you none of that.
Recently became a paraplegic due to others irresponsible driving. While I was incredible fortunate to not only survive, but with the help of rehab, might get the chance to walk again. It sends me into a frenzy seeing content like this. Think of how easy this could become a blood bath if any one thing went wrong. Fuckin awful people.
It's a bit hard to type cause I also broke my left arm, so I'll type it here once for all to see. To all those wishing me well I cannot thank you enough. It's people like you that keeps my spirits high despite the situation. Rehab is only a couple days away and I'm gonna do all I can to regain as much movement as I can.

You have to know where and when you can street race, i always street race on abonded touges in the night, or empty highways in the night, i never drive fast in residencial areas.
Probably the worst part of such behaviour is their approach of "I've already did it, so it's perfectly ok" kind of excusing their behaviour. The reality is that driving like this will kill you, or even worse - someone else who happened to be on their way. Not today, not tomorrow, but will happen. "Not if, but when" as Charlie said. My brother almost killed himself in similar way because of an animal jumping onto the road. Luckily there was no one around and he only crashed his car, but still. Not many have a chance to learn from such a mistake.

I just noticed something about the video of the guy driving on the highway. Based on the signs and other details of the road in the video, this guy is driving on the Cross Island Parkway in NYC. This means that he is not in fact driving on an interstate, but rather a parkway on Long Island. For those who don't know, the parkways of NY and especially LI were designed by Robert Moses not for high speed travel, but as a leisurely Sunday drive. Although the roads have been modernized somewhat for 50 mph driving as reflected on current parkway speed limits and lane widening projects, they are still not that good for high speed travel due to their narrow roadways, restrictive overpasses, and short entrance ramps. The overpasses were intentionally designed to be too low for trucks to go underneath and do not allow many types of vehicles (although there are many cases of vehicles illegally using the parkways and even getting stuck by the low overpasses as a result or needing a police escort off the parkway to prevent such). This means that this guy is going probably over 100 mph on roads that initially were intentionally designed for travel only below 35 mph. PS: To get a sense of how old these parkways are, the Grand Central Parkway also in Queens has an abandoned entrance ramp meant for horse buggies under Utopia Parkway.
I'm learning how to drive right now and it's making me feel a little insecure to know that even I get really careful, some jackass can decide to speed or do a fish tail out of nowhere and can eventually injure or kill me
@@madtabby66Yes! I took a defensive driving course. I'm still stupid scared to drive, so I'm not going to. But if you are going to drive, take a defensive course. It's all about looking out for your safety and paying attention. Even so, honestly I'm considering, driving is such an unsafe practice on the scale it's on today, we should be investing more in public transportation options, bikes and busses and stuff. Cuts down on carbon emissions, and is way more safe.
Don't let it ruin your confidence. I am a motorcyclist so the risks are very high for me. Just pass your test, do as many advanced courses, simulators and racetracks as you can afford. Watch as many accident and driving tutorials as you can tolerate. Death on the road is just a harsh reality we must accept in the modern day. But it's a risk that you should be willing to take for freedom. Mitigate the risk as far as you can. Never drink and do drugs on the road. Stay alert. Enjoy your freedom until the bitter end. Never drive unnecessarily. Only drive for practical or fun reasons. Too many people take up the road with pointless excursions for fast food and wandering. Just walk!

I got into a chase out in the "sticks" pulled a Dukes of Hazzards on the sheriff's. The most scary and fun thing I've ever done only reason I was able to put enough distance on them was because the road was windy and hilly. was in a pos chrysler 200 3.6l making roughly 330hp with a cai and flowmaster super 10 exhaust and a diablo 93 flash tune at 3600lbs cops had the 3.6l v6 or 8 idk but I do know that the chargers and Durangos weren't able to keep up unless they wanted a hug from a tree do to the extra weight 4400lbs . Once I had enough distance I pulled behind my great grandfather's once was metal barn and heard them go up and down the hill and gone my one time main character moment lol. I still had to make it home though that part I wasn't very proud of. And don't say I endangered the sheriff's deputies. I've heard multiple cops say they love the chases as long as no one gets hurt and they're supposed to be decent drivers. Doing the speeds shown in this vid in a residential / suburban street is unfathomably dumb. And leagues ahead of good ol boys haveing some fun out in the sticks.

@- Even driving recklessly in the sticks can still kill people though. A couple of kids at my high school got mowed down on a rural road. There can always be people or animals a road. Especially large animals like deer or elk... or someone's dog. Also consider if you loose control and crash you could end up disfigured, paralyzed, or dead. Think of how much your family will miss you, or what they'll need to do to take care of you when you can't walk any longer. 5:49 THIS RIGHT HERE IS SO IMPORTANT. I was just in an almost very fatal accident a few weeks ago due to someone thinking they can just speed past everyone and take risks. We were going 50mph Northbound when this guy thought he had enough juice in his 2022 Hyundai to cross over from a parking lot on our right, into oncoming traffic, to then pass over the the double line to go Southbound. Well..we crumpled his driver side door cause he was quite literally horizontal by the time he reached the left lane and pushed us both into oncoming traffic going southbound. I’m lucky to be alive because just a week prior I received a letter regarding an airbag recall that when deployed, has a high chance to shoot projectiles at bullet speeds and have killed multiple people. I still remember thinking right before hitting him that I was going to die and that my life was about to be over cause of this man’s reckless decision and disregard for others on the road. It makes me wish where I lived wasn’t so car-centric. Its the second accident I’ve been in that wasn’t my fault (guy ran a red light while I had a green arrow) that has resulted in my cars being totaled now twice. I just wish my work and places where I buy necessities could just be a walk from where I live. Just be safe and all I ask is invest in safe cars that won’t turn into paper when you get hit.
I know it's tough, but if you're able to move to a city with good transit, you can live without a car. I stopped driving several years ago and it's been a huge relief for me. But I know it's much easier said than done and it will be generations before most places are built for people instead of awful cars...
not super related to your story, but just wanted to pitch in and say that airbag recall was for the Takata air bags. It's been an ongoing thing since ~2017 and only really affected cars in areas with high humidity. The reason it's taken so long for you to get your new airbags (remember this recall has been going for YEARS now) is because there literally isn't enough airbags to go around with all of the vehicles on the road and almost ALL cars made in the last 15-20 years have them. Long story short, Takata went under, airbags are still being rolled out from other manufacturers to fulfill the largest recall in automotive history, and it's been taking a long time. I was on a 70mph expressway when a 30-something guy like him FLEW past me in the left lane at well over 100mph. In a Maserati! I had two little ones in the backseat, all I could think was Thank God he went past us without incident. As I watched him weave recklessly around a bend, my second thought was, Hope he makes that turn... when a fireball erupted about 3 miles ahead. I couldn't believe what was happening. As I made my way around that bend, there was the fancy sportscar alight against the underpass wall and him sitting on the knoll just a few feet away looking quite dazed yet miraculously unharmed. Even more miraculously, when he lost control he hadn't managed to clip another car in the process. Wow, so cool. So epic, man. I agree with your assessment as I clearly recall shouting MORON! out the window as I drove past.
Pretty much the only sentence I needed to pass the driver's license test (and which got me the only mistake): "What could other Drivers do wrong here?" The mistake that they said I had was, that I wanted to anticipate oncoming traffic on an exit-lane (after a few meters detached from the main lanes, going a strong curve), I couldn't specify if I thought it could be a ghost driver, 'cause it was only multiple choice, so I tried to play it safe by choosing that option :3

This is the exact reason I don't like driving. I've had 3 cars going the opposite direction as me, all pass a school bus at the same time when the first car wouldn't have made it if I hadn't hit the breaks. It never fails to amaze me how many stupid people are driving.

As a very avid car enthusiast. There are 3 kinds of people that are generally frowned upon in the car scene 1. People weaving in traffic at high speeds 2. People who takeover intersections and do donuts for clout 3. Streetracing in neighborhoods or being loud in neighborhoods. It is an unspoken rule that you drive out 20 miles away from town to do this dumb shit with your friends where the only person you are putting at risk is yourself. I have much more to say on this topic.

As someone who has done 100+ on a public road (and yes I know it was dumb but I was in a charger and so, ya know) I only did it because I was 30-50 miles out of town, the road was literally entirely empty of traffic and was completely straight with clear weather. Outside of circumstances like that, I would never ever drive like these idiots.
We always waited til 1 or 2 in the morning on a weekend to do runs on highways. Never in a packed highway.

My friend died about a year ago, walking on the correct side of the road with safety lights, she was with her little sister, and some asshole was driving recklessly, passed his friend in a different car, and struck her going way over the speed limit on the wrong side of the road. He hasn't been charged with anything and still runs his mouth saying they were in the middle of the road (they were not, Theresa walked everywhere, she wouldn't walk in the middle of a road at night with her 14 year old sister, and there were witnesses anyway.) I hate these types of people because it's much more likely that they end up killing or hurting someone else, rather than themselves.

My mom’s dad died from a reckless/drunk driver in a head on collision in 1986. His death totally shattered her and her mom’s lives, and it was a super hard time for them. I couldn’t imagine going through that myself. These idiots don’t realize what they’re doing could totally destroy someone’s life, (they probably do, but they don’t care,) and kill somebody.

i havent been t-boned but ive wrecked....and even tho i was driving the times i wrecked, as the years have went by, ive developed this thing where riding with anyone or even anticipating it gives me crazy anxiety. Like, i have to be in a situation where i absolutely HAVE to ride with someone else for whatever reason for me to get in a car in which someone other than me is behind the wheel. It used to annoy some of my friends several years back but as ive gotten older im just up front about it and tell em im driving or im not going lol. Also not only do i have to drive, but its gotta be my car. I just cant take not being in control of my own situation in any way anymore, unless there is some awesome payout or something.

Someone hit me on the highway in January because he wasn't paying attention when traffic stopped on my way home from work. It took a couple of weeks for me to fully recover and now I have horrible PTSD because no matter how good of a driver you are, you can't control the other cars around you.
I've broke my neck twice in two different car accidents..the ptsd is a bitch so I hope you're able to cope and get better.

i was in a car accident where a person going the wrong way and trying to merge in with traffic rammed into my driver’s side door. he didn’t even stop scarping my car until i stopped. and he ganged up with his acquaintances to coerce some money out of me, saying that i damaged his car. i was younger and it was early in the morning, and perhaps people just didn’t want to get involved. i tried calling the police but the calls weren’t going through.
after that, i slowly started becoming averse to driving, to the point that i’ve stopped driving completely.

I used to work at a shoe store, and a 20-something year old guy once pulled up in a very expensive car and bragged to me that he had just outrun the cops and almost hit someone. I was so stunned and confused that I blurted out, "you just outran the cops and almost killed someone to come to a shoe store?" He got super red in the face and was suddenly very timid, all of the bravado gone, and he picked a pair of shoes at random, bought them, and left. He didn't even try them on. It's funny how these people always crumble when there aren't any twelve year olds around to fawn over their exploits.

I remember about last year my dad told me about this awful crash that happen, a guy drunk driving in daylight was driving at about 180mph, he got to a red light and just tried to go straight through it, he ended up hitting a car of a mom dad and two children, he hit their gas tank almost instantly engulfing both cars in a fireball killing everyone in both cars, all of this was caught on a security camera at a store at that intersection.
I just felt like sharing this story because this guy is going to end up dead in some way like this while taking other innocent people with him 😔

I'll admit that when I was younger (nearly 20 years ago) I used to drive like an absolute arsehole. Until one night in a pub my friends and I saw a downbeat dude sat in the corner looking real beat drinking on his own. So we decided to go over and try and perk up his spirits a bit. He told us this story...
"I work as an ambulance driver and got called to the scene of an accident. Once I got there I saw 2 cars, the one on front that got hit by the other from behind. Checked to see if anyone there needed medical treatment. Other than just some broken bones and whiplash there was nothing really major so I left them in the care of the police while I went to check on the other car. In that car was a dead passenger as per usual and the driver who had survived but with pretty bad injuries asking if her child who was in the back seat was ok. I peered into the back to see the torso and limbs secure in the child's safety seat. But! there was no head... Soon after one of the officers came to me after finding the child's head. It went through the windscreen of the offending car into the back window of the other and landed in the rear footwell of the front car"
This did 2 things to me. It straight up put a stop to me wanting to be an emergency response driver and at the same time I never drove like and arsehole again.

Exactly there used to be unspoken rules all car guys knew like not street racing on active roads then all that disappeared in recent years with all the new wave "car enthusiasts" more like "destroy my shit and kill other innocent people" enthusiasts.
I think its kind of on us in the community to call people out for that shit. Making the people who do this feel like its dumb and not cool is the only way they will stop. They are all ego and that's the only thing they care about.

I'm not a car guy but my best friend is, he races and drifts regularly and I've seen some POV videos of his driving and it's really cool.
The difference is that my friend's videos all take place on actual tracks that were meant for this kind of driving
I don't drive fast, but hearing "just go to the track" annoy me so much, in my country a single session at the track a month is too much for most people to afford. I don't care about tracks, but if I wanted to I could go maybe twice a year.
How is that an alternative to driving fast on the road ?

In my hometown about 4 years ago, some rich kids went on a joyride in one of their parents' Porsche. The one behind the wheel drove so insanely that he ended up sending it through the second floor of a building's brick wall and only killed both of themselves because the building was unoccupied. I'll never understand how people don't truly grasp or care about the immense responsibility and privilege driving a car is.

I get a feeling of anxiety when driving automatic due to my left foot serving no purpose. I like manual for that reason.
Still need to practice manual chokes though. Planning to work on getting a 1955 F350 running again, so I'm going to have to touch up on my choke operation.
The worst part is they get legitimately angry when other drivers don't stay completely in place relative to other traffic. I saw a video of a guy swerving through traffic when somebody in front of them changed lanes, causing the UA-camr to slow down. The entire comment section was flooded with people saying how unsafe that guy was and how he shouldn't be allowed to drive
I used to do time attacks on mountain roads. Driving a car to the limit is exhilarating, but it's also extremely dangerous, and if you do it on a trafficked road or in a residential area, then you are just a criminal.
When I did my runs I always did them at 2-3 am precisely because I wanted to minimize the chance of meeting other cars, and I would always slow down when approaching towns, because even though on a mountain at 3 am it's extremely unlikely to meet people outside (and indeed I never met one), I didn't want to take any chances.
And then obviously there's a matter of skill. I spent countless hours learning how to keep control of the car, how to handle oversteers, understeers, how to heel-toe, and in general how the car responds and what are its limits, and thanks to that I never had accidents while running, because I knew exactly what I was doing (I scraped the paint off of the side mirrors a few times but that's about it).
I highly doubt these guys know how to handle the car if the traction control fails, driving on straight roads teaches you none of that.
Recently became a paraplegic due to others irresponsible driving. While I was incredible fortunate to not only survive, but with the help of rehab, might get the chance to walk again. It sends me into a frenzy seeing content like this. Think of how easy this could become a blood bath if any one thing went wrong. Fuckin awful people.

My brother almost killed himself in similar way because of an animal jumping onto the road. Luckily there was no one around and he only crashed his car, but still.

I just noticed something about the video of the guy driving on the highway. Based on the signs and other details of the road in the video, this guy is driving on the Cross Island Parkway in NYC. This means that he is not in fact driving on an interstate, but rather a parkway on Long Island. For those who don't know, the parkways of NY and especially LI were designed by Robert Moses not for high speed travel, but as a leisurely Sunday drive. Although the roads have been modernized somewhat for 50 mph driving as reflected on current parkway speed limits and lane widening projects, they are still not that good for high speed travel due to their narrow roadways, restrictive overpasses, and short entrance ramps. The overpasses were intentionally designed to be too low for trucks to go underneath and do not allow many types of vehicles (although there are many cases of vehicles illegally using the parkways and even getting stuck by the low overpasses as a result or needing a police escort off the parkway to prevent such). This means that this guy is going probably over 100 mph on roads that initially were intentionally designed for travel only below 35 mph.
PS: To get a sense of how old these parkways are, the Grand Central Parkway also in Queens has an abandoned entrance ramp meant for horse buggies under Utopia Parkway.

It's all about looking out for your safety and paying attention. Cuts down on carbon emissions, and is way more safe.

Don't let it ruin your confidence. I am a motorcyclist so the risks are very high for me. Just pass your test, do as many advanced courses, simulators and racetracks as you can afford. Watch as many accident and driving tutorials as you can tolerate.
Death on the road is just a harsh reality we must accept in the modern day. But it's a risk that you should be willing to take for freedom. Mitigate the risk as far as you can. Never drink and do drugs on the road. Stay alert. Enjoy your freedom until the bitter end.
Never drive unnecessarily. Only drive for practical or fun reasons. Too many people take up the road with pointless excursions for fast food and wandering. Just walk!
I only do that on deserted back roads where I am from and I only drive manual because it helps me focus

I got into a chase out in the "sticks" pulled a Dukes of Hazzards on the sheriff's. The most scary and fun thing I've ever done only reason I was able to put enough distance on them was because the road was windy and hilly. was in a pos chrysler 200 3.6l making roughly 330hp with a cai and flowmaster super 10 exhaust and a diablo 93 flash tune at 3600lbs cops had the 3.6l v6 or 8 idk but I do know that the chargers and Durangos weren't able to keep up unless they wanted a hug from a tree do to the extra weight 4400lbs . Once I had enough distance I pulled behind my great grandfather's once was metal barn and heard them go up and down the hill and gone my one time main character moment lol. I still had to make it home though that part I wasn't very proud of.
And don't say I endangered the sheriff's deputies. I've heard multiple cops say they love the chases as long as no one gets hurt and they're supposed to be decent drivers.
Doing the speeds shown in this vid in a residential / suburban street is unfathomably dumb. And leagues ahead of good ol boys haveing some fun out in the sticks.

@- Even driving recklessly in the sticks can still kill people though. A couple of kids at my high school got mowed down on a rural road. There can always be people or animals a road. Especially large animals like deer or elk... or someone's dog.
Also consider if you loose control and crash you could end up disfigured, paralyzed, or dead. Think of how much your family will miss you, or what they'll need to do to take care of you when you can't walk any longer.
These kinds of accidents happen all the time because people treat cars like toys instead of dangerous heavy machines.

5:49 THIS RIGHT HERE IS SO IMPORTANT. I was just in an almost very fatal accident a few weeks ago due to someone thinking they can just speed past everyone and take risks.
We were going 50mph Northbound when this guy thought he had enough juice in his 2022 Hyundai to cross over from a parking lot on our right, into oncoming traffic, to then pass over the the double line to go Southbound. Well..we crumpled his driver side door cause he was quite literally horizontal by the time he reached the left lane and pushed us both into oncoming traffic going southbound.
I’m lucky to be alive because just a week prior I received a letter regarding an airbag recall that when deployed, has a high chance to shoot projectiles at bullet speeds and have killed multiple people. I still remember thinking right before hitting him that I was going to die and that my life was about to be over cause of this man’s reckless decision and disregard for others on the road.
It makes me wish where I lived wasn’t so car-centric. Its the second accident I’ve been in that wasn’t my fault (guy ran a red light while I had a green arrow) that has resulted in my cars being totaled now twice. I just wish my work and places where I buy necessities could just be a walk from where I live.
Just be safe and all I ask is invest in safe cars that won’t turn into paper when you get hit.
I know it's tough, but if you're able to move to a city with good transit, you can live without a car. I stopped driving several years ago and it's been a huge relief for me. But I know it's much easier said than done and it will be generations before most places are built for people instead of awful cars...
not super related to your story, but just wanted to pitch in and say that airbag recall was for the Takata air bags. It's been an ongoing thing since ~2017 and only really affected cars in areas with high humidity. The reason it's taken so long for you to get your new airbags (remember this recall has been going for YEARS now) is because there literally isn't enough airbags to go around with all of the vehicles on the road and almost ALL cars made in the last 15-20 years have them.
Long story short, Takata went under, airbags are still being rolled out from other manufacturers to fulfill the largest recall in automotive history, and it's been taking a long time. On a brighter note, at least it you don't have to worry about the recall now! 😂

I was on a 70mph expressway when a 30-something guy like him FLEW past me in the left lane at well over 100mph. In a Maserati! I had two little ones in the backseat, all I could think was Thank God he went past us without incident. As I watched him weave recklessly around a bend, my second thought was, Hope he makes that turn... when a fireball erupted about 3 miles ahead. I couldn't believe what was happening. As I made my way around that bend, there was the fancy sportscar alight against the underpass wall and him sitting on the knoll just a few feet away looking quite dazed yet miraculously unharmed. Even more miraculously, when he lost control he hadn't managed to clip another car in the process. Wow, so cool. So epic, man. I agree with your assessment as I clearly recall shouting MORON! out the window as I drove past.

Pretty much the only sentence I needed to pass the driver's license test (and which got me the only mistake): "What could other Drivers do wrong here?"
The mistake that they said I had was, that I wanted to anticipate oncoming traffic on an exit-lane (after a few meters detached from the main lanes, going a strong curve), I couldn't specify if I thought it could be a ghost driver, 'cause it was only multiple choice, so I tried to play it safe by choosing that option :3
