Praying for the docs hands and wisdom, That grandpa will have a fast recovery In Jesus name. His stripes He endured so we will be healed. Have faith. ❤❤❤love you guys.
Female emus are known to attack and kill their own chicks. Males hatch & raise them. My emus have been guardians to my baby goats and sheep. They get along with our chickens, ducks and turkeys that get into the pasture but the bantams don’t usually go in there and we do not allow chicks to hatch. So far, there haven’t been any missing hens sitting on a hidden nest. I would be scared for them to bring babies through the pasture.
Rachel is sweeter and more affectionate with him, shes does his grooming. And she took time to bond with him when first arrived and was depressed and grieving. He will.always be momma's boy.
You were needing a restraining order on your stalker Yoshi anyway. 😂I did enjoy them so much and hate to see them go. The videos of Yoshi over your shoulder were so hilarious!
Alpacas will work with your LGDs to protect your flocks. They will make a whistling sound to notify Leeske, Cora, Russell and Mojo to where the predator(s) are. If you ever want to see an alpaca in action, watch a couple of videos from Raven Tree Farms. They have a couple of alpacas and they are AMAZING with the goats, sheep, etc.
Donkeys are known tenacious livestock guardians! I bet if those two were not left by themselves all the time, they'd want to step in and do their share of protecting, because it would be their own family/herd/pack they were protecting. Not that I know what I'm talking about, because I don't. Sometimes they don't get along with dogs, but they're already used to the dogs, and probably consider them part of the family. And they're sweet, adorable, and probably kind of lonely. Equines like the company of people, other equines, and also of goats and sheep. If I remember from reading, not cows so much.
Raven Tree Ranch is a great channel. The owners really work hard to acclimate their LSG dogs to ALL of the animals and other dogs on their farm. Unfortunately, sometimes it seems that there is too much acceptance given to Cora's personality (not getting along with Mojo, cats and chickens), instead of training her to better serve the farm.
Kevin, My sister is a nurse. One of her young chickens got it's foot hurt when they were moving their chicken tractor. She did wrap the foot with the stretchy Self-Adhesive Bandage they wrap around bandaging on a wound. She used that to support her foot and the chicken did recover. I hope this information helps you. 🐕🦺🐈🐕🐐🐓🪿 ❤❤❤❤❤
Hello Kevin, I think you have the right to do what you want to do on your farm what ever you want to do and that includes your animals or what ever. I understand Rachels thinking totally. They are beautiful birds, and I know you will find them proper homes. Love you guys God bless and until next time take care now.
Cog Hill Farm in Alabama has 2 Emus, ducks, Geese, 2 mini female donkey’s, 1 steer, 1 cow, goats and over 20 chickens. Plus 3 pigs. Several dogs and cats and they are all pets. Jason and Brook has named all there animals. They pet them all and give them all hugs except for the ducks, chickens and geese.
I think UA-cam might be their big source of income too while Hidden Heights has a day job that he does. (Idk if Mrs Rachel has one or not.) Really helps when you can be with the animals all the time.
Cog hill farm is great. But they wouldn’t like it if there emus were bullies. They have made real pets out of there emus so they have a secure place there with them. Rachel and Kevin have day jobs. When they get home they don’t want trouble. Especially for the animals they love and are closest to.
My hen has a broken toe. Vet made a sturdy flat piece of plastic cut with the three toes and took narrow strips of vet wrap that sticks to itself to support her foot and shank with the plastic brace. She will wear it for a few weeks and is getting around on it OK. Hope your little hen heals quick. Isolating her was a good thing.
Kevin, you are a riot, giving voice for MoJo. Love the conversation. Your Emu's are your choices. Being a viewer, I enjoy it when they become part of the video, they are curious and friendly and helpful with your wing predators BUT you n Rachel will choose what is best for your farm. Russell is gorgeous, going to be a great asset. Thanks for sharing
Enjoy the video poor Mojo he to hot 🔥 love ya Mojo ❤️ and RUSSELL love you 2 you getting almost bigger then your Daddy and momma 😘 ❤️ and Rachel sorry about emus but hope you find them a good home sorry about chicken sending prayers ❤️ love you guys ❤️
You can order the fencing from the Tractor Supply stores that have it and have it delivered to the store nearest you (ship to store). You would have to pay for it prior to the product being shipping. Otherwise, you could talk to the store manager and let them know what you need and they should be able to order the fencing for you and it would be delivered to that store with their regular delivery.
fencing at tractor supply. you can go and order it and they will get all you want all you have to do is pay for it and within a few days it will magically appear ready for pick up.
Hi Kevin Rachael is correct in having bullies on farms as it’s not fair on them. Without the emus the chickens would have e a peaceful life. Tbh I thought that they should be penned separate but it goes to show that it’s not feasible to pen them together. The dogs haven’t changed. Still as sweet as ever. That wee Russell is growing so much but he has a lovely manner with him Much love and respect from across the pond in Uk x
Your Emus are so unique in coloring. Sad to see they will be rehomed and no longer part of the video crew...but all the reasons are totally understandable. 😊
Please give Rachel and Kyia (please excuse my spelling!) my condolences on Gucci's passing. I know how hard it is to say good-bye to your "favorite" chicken and they are in my thoughts and prayers.
Hi Kevin, I didn't realise the emus would do that. I used to like them both do the zoomies they were funny, & so fast!!! 🙏 you will find them a good home. He's on Mojo time LOL😅 Take care Kevin see you next video. God bless❤💙🙏🤗😊✝️✌
Kevin, what ever you do with the emu's, it may be time to do so. You have been waiting for a few years for them to lay some eggs and all they do is eat. Good luck in your decision about the emu's. Have a wonderful weekend. David B.,Utah. 🦃🐓💞💞❤❤❤.
We used popsicle sticks and wrapped our hen with a broken leg after my son-in-law popped it back in. We kepted her isolated for I think 5 weeks. They looked it up on UA-cam fir what to do. She was fine after a while and went back into the flock doing well. I do however understand this decision. You have to do what is best for your farm.
Love your videos. I agree that when animals become bullies, they need to go. Farm livestock is ever changing and it’s nice to be able to do that and find what best suits your farm and family. ❤❤
I'm soo sorry the emus need to go, but I do understand Rachel's reasons to let them go to a new home. Thank you for keeping things real for us viewers and letting us know things like this! God bless you and your family and all the wonderful animals. 🥰🥰🥰
Sorry that y'all hafta get rid of the Emus. Some are very hard to agree upon, but it ends up being for the best.Yomeg could have killed the little hen.Possibly Yomeg may have gotten territorial for some reason.I'm surprised Ms.Betty didn't get all crazy trying to protect her though.Good luck finding a new place for them. The white Emu is beautiful! I hope you find a good home for her. A while back you had taken a green?/blue? egg from a multicolored hen. Then you started talking about needing to hatch more chickens. I was hoping you were going to hatch the egg from the multicolored hen, but it looked like you cracked it in to the dog's dish. What kind of hen is the multicolored one?
Hey Mojo and Kevin, ya'll doing OK 👍 hope the little Bantie recover quickly, I ❤ the little Banties. The Emu can go rogue 😱 thanks for sharing ❤ and 🥰 to all 🍻

It will be sad to not see the emus but you need to do what is best for the animals. Wow puppy Russell is big his almost same height as his dad. Sending love to all the family ❤❤❤
I think you made a great decision about the emu. Whatever works for your animals in the long run. Take care with this extreme heat. God bless you all 😂❤
I feel for you, Rachel. I hate bullies. I really don't think they mean to hurt the chickens, but they do like to chase anything smaller than them. Good luck finding them a home.
Oh yes, fence in the chickens and save Rachael's flowers and the emus at the same time. Getting rid of the emus won't solve the flower/chicken issue. But fencing in the chickens would solve both issues and put the geese in with them as they will guard the chickens. But as others have said, your farm, your decision.😢

hey kevin i watch your videos all the time and i wanted to tell you that you can get curbside pickup at the store tractor supply in Tahlequah oklahoma on july1 if you purchase it as soon as tomorrow!
Contact either your local feed store or Tractor Supply & ask if they will order the fencing for you. Then have it delivered to the store & you won't have to pay shipping. If you make the run large enough you might be able to divide it & rotate the chickens so they don't eat it down to dirt.
Bummer about the Emu’s but if they aren’t helping the farm then they should go. I’ll miss seeing them. The male is getting some neat coloring. Thanx for sharing! 🤗~Becka
The bunk will work outside as long as it is presser treated wood and animal safe pant to prevent cracking and concrete to prevent rot from being exposed to constant moisture
They have wrestle that is going to live in that pen. Keep in mind, Kevin and Rachel have day jobs so when they get home, the farm needs to run smoothly. Replacing them is not necessary when they have four guardian dogs. Better to support them and their decisions than to impose our own wishes. As I have seen on some farm families on UA-cam more and variety is not always better. It’s better to watch them, love and give great care to the ones they do own than to see a variety of animals just to have them.
Their farm. Their way. Not for any of us to decide what works for them. No need to justify anything Kevin. You do you.
BYW: Grandpa Doss is needing heart surgery soon.
Please pray for them❤

Kevin, I work for Tractor Supply. You can order all the fencing you need and have it shipped to store and pick it up in 3-5 days.
It's best if you go into the store and have a team member order for you on the Stockyard. At the customer service desk.
That's what I thought. I've ordered stuff from them thru the store
Thsts what I thought too .
Anywhere but Tractor Supply... there are so many other places with the supplies you need, so why wait?
@nettie3485 working with a budget you'll find that TSC is very competitive. They also have the best price matching in the industry.
They actually make chicken splints($16.99 for two pack) you could easily craft your own from a plastic soda bottle bottom with side & velcro strip.
Please, please, please don't ever send your dogs away!! We love them too much. ❤❤❤

Yours and Rachel's farm. Your animals. Your decision. 😊
So refreshing to read this. I agree. We love watching bits & pieces, but not our farm 😊
Hey Kevin and Rachel,
Well, if those big birds don't fit the farm then there is another place they will.
Good luck placing them👍.
JO JO IN VT 💞
Watch Dr Pol episodes. He treats poultry with wing, legs and other problems.
I actually found a vet that put a cast on my little chick after being attacked by God knows what. Worked out beautifully !
Dr Pol does too. Used to watch him but my cable company got rid of it.
U can put a cast on a chicken. and ask Dr Pol
Do you remember how long it took? I think we kept our hen isolated for 5 weeks. She was fine afterwards.
One of my daughters hens got attacked by a fox . It cost her $400- for treatment. 😢. But she's still alive and happy.
You could get all the fence post set, while you are waiting on the fence... 😮🐥🐤🐓🐓.

I'm so sad. The Emu's are my favorite animals on your farm. I wish I could have some but I don't have enough property. They are so neat.
Am sure you'll find a home for Emus. They are cool. Did you figure out why all the 🪶 feathers found on the ground?

hey kevin i watch your videos all the time and i wanted to tell you that you can get curbside pickup at the store tractor supply in Tahlequah oklahoma on july1 if you purchase it as soon as tomorrow!
Contact either your local feed store or Tractor Supply & ask if they will order the fencing for you. Then have it delivered to the store & you won't have to pay shipping. If you make the run large enough you might be able to divide it & rotate the chickens so they don't eat it down to dirt.
You could put the emus in the pig oen as a possible negotiation? 🎉😊
Just use shorter fencing and put netting on the top to
Prevent them from flying out.

Is there any other tall birds that get along with chickens? That will help keep Predators away.
Great video sorry the emus didn’t work out but sometimes you have to do the best for the other animals. Have a great weekend God bless 💕🙏
Kevin, just try to remember, happy wife, happy life. How about replacing the Emus with Alpacas
