    By far the best faux loc tutorial! The switching of strands for securing, and knotting at the end was extremely helpful! Now the next time I do mine, they'll be perfect! Thanks!

    ALOT OF HAIR DRESSERS DO NOT TAKE THE TIME TO MOISTURIZE THEIR CLIENTS HAIR. SOMETIMES THEY DO NOT EVEN DETANGLE IT. LAST TIME I LET A FEMALE DO BRAIDS IN MY HAIR, SHE WASHED IT, BLOWED DRIED IT AND DID NOT MOISTURIZE IT. SO GUESS WHAT HAPPENED WHEN I TOOK OUT MY BRAIDS.?!?! SHED... SHED... SHED!!!! THANK U FOR THIS VIDEO

    • @MsChoriz0
      @MsChoriz0 8 років тому +21

      ur hair will shed whether u moisturize or not. Shedding is a natural process for hair and skin. This occurs at the root of the hair..Moisturization prevents breakage/Damage.

    • @lenal.5567
      @lenal.5567 8 років тому +2

      +Khadijah C. This is so true. Medical and Science Industry regardless where you are geographically located will advise the same. Shedding is a natural process of the body releasing dead hair, cells, etc. to allow the production of new hair, cells to grow...Breakage comes from unhealthy maintenance (i.e. lose of hair as a result of molting, disease, or age tension, lack of moisture when there is tension, tugging, pulling, chemically processed hair just before adding extensions..the hair is in a very weak stay...should generally allow 7-14 days before doing so, etc.). Let's keep educating self and sharing our knowledge, beautiful Nubian Kings and Queens.

    • @pridefulebony3905
      @pridefulebony3905 8 років тому +2

      +Khadijah C. I mis-spoken. my hair was literally falling out in clumps in the shower. Breaking all over the place. I was scared I would go bald.

    • @lenal.5567

    IT'S AMAZING HOW HISTORY REPEATS ITSELF. THIS WAY OF STYLING HAIR IS SIMILIAR TO WHAT MY MOTHER USED TO DO FOR ME YEARS AGO AS A KID BUT IT WE USED BLACK THREAD AND IT WAS MORE SPACED OUT. IT WAS A STYLE COMMONLY DONE IN NIGERIA. YOU DONT SEE IT ANY MORE

    • @AfroCaribBoss
      @AfroCaribBoss 9 років тому +6

      Yeahh its called threading and we do it in Ghana too. It makes our natural hair longer. Im a boy but i do it over my locks to keep them out of the way for a bit but my sisters get their hair twisted using the threading method

    • @mzlareine1105

    Quick question.
    I did this hair style on my sister and she kept on complaining every-time I was wrapping the hair around the twist. Cause as i was doing wrapping it her hair at the roots kept on tightening. The 2nd day it was in i had to loosen some again because she was complaining that it was too tight. But i didn't intentionally do it i was trying my hardest to stop it from twisting the roots of her hair. Do your customers say anything about the tightening as your wrapping the hair? And do you have any tips into doing the hairstyle with less tension?
    BTW when i did this hairstyle it took me 2 days (it was my first time) but 4 hours is impressive.

    • @kimmykalon
      @kimmykalon 7 років тому +2

      Derell .Luis hi! I know I'm not BeautyCanBraid lol and it's 10 months later but I do faux locs as well and it natural that the root will turn as you try to wrap, so I just tell my clients to hold the root while I wrap if it feels like there's too much tension. They usually end up holding the root when I'm on the edges and in the middle, the most tender spots.
