@@MalcPearce Thanks. I left East Anglia in ‘96, but enjoyed my time there during the Pea harvesting season. I was a relief lorry driver, working mostly on the night shifts. Thoroughly enjoyed it all.
I moved to the Warwickshire end of the Cotswolds and soon noticed Pea Viners being used for Stratford (on Avon) canners. But I was just too far away at Moreton-in-Marsh for them to want us to grow Peas for them here.
Ironically, Birdseye Walls had a major plant at Gloucester but for Pigs, rather than Peas.
I know that Birdseye stopped freezing Peas at Lowestoft soon after left.
I’ll never forget that small of a Pea field being harvested or at the Factory.
