2024 SkyBox Metal Universe Avengers is part modern and part nostalgia. Drawing a lot of its inspiration from days of SkyBox’s past, some designs have been updated. The sheer level of chase levels and technology also brings it more to the present.
Past and present also plays out in the art as well with cards mixing classic interpretations of Avengers heroes and foe alongside modern takes.
2024 SkyBox Metal Universe Avengers Checklist Overview
The 200-card base set is all about characters. This includes a high numbers subset that covers the second half of the checklist. Parallels come in a variety of levels including Grandiose and multiple FX colors.
In addition to the base set, there are Metal Retro cards that have a similar design as 1995 Fleer Marvel Metal.
Besides FX parallels similar to the base set, Retro cards have multiple levels of Precious Metal Gems.
Planet Metal - Iron Armor cards are done on metal with each of the 20 cards highlighting a different Iron Man suit. Numbered Bronze, Platinum and Gold parallels are also available.
Intimidation Nation is a ’90s-inspired set. To give it an Avengers theme, all 25 cards here feature different members of the Thunderbolts team.
A-Force cards are based on late ’90s SkyBox Z-Force. This carries over to their Rave parallels. Here they’re Mighty Rave, Super Rave and Gold Rave.
For those who grew up during the concurrent card and comic booms of the early 1990s, gimmick covers are probably high in the nostalgia realm. Metalheads not only takes on one of the popular cover gimmicks, embossed foil, but also uses ’90s versions of characters. Black parallels are also available.
Like other recent SkyBox Metal Universe sets, Metal-X ranks as one of the tougher chases in the product.
The checklist has a pair of shadowbox-style insert sets. Geodes casts characters inside the rock formations while A Soldier’s Metal looks at famous battles involving Captain America. Both include short prints that make building a set more challenging.
Platinum Portrait, Purely Periodic, which is based on the Table of Elements, and die-cut acetate Palladium inserts both return.
Traditional hits include Comic Cuts and Autographed Comic Cuts that have panels taken from books embedded in them.

Ty for sharing with us sir! I'm so sad that the metal series ends here :( I just found your channel a couple weeks ago and saw that Marvel cards are still a thing. Super sad I'm just now finding these amazing cards and it's ending.
So, I’ve recently come into what feels like a 1000 or more Marvel cards and like 25% of the are foil/clear/holo. I’m glad I found someone else who is collecting them

Its shame, as Marvel collector I thought you would of covered, kayou hero battle series 1 to 5 absolutely beautiful cards produce by Kayou company, everyone's likes are different as well as price range for what you can spend.
Just not gotten into much Kayou but I have opened on the channel. Probably over a year ago

Trying to get back into collecting. Havent collected since the 90's, and even then I only bought single packs here and there. The blaster box and hobby box thing is kind of a new one to me. Im curious as to why the hobby boxes of these are ASTRONOMICALLY more expensive in hobby box form vs blaster? You get 72 cards in a hobby box, which is the same as two blaster boxes. Two blaster boxes are $60 while a hobby box is a whopping $500. In other words, .83 cent per card with a blaster, or $6.90 per card with a hobby box. Is it simply ecause you can get more valuable cards in a hobby box? That seems like it would be offset by the drastic increase you pay per card. I started with marvel beginnings vol. 2 series 1 and its currently far more reasonable. A hobby box contains the same amount as three blasters. Blasters are 20 each and hobby boxes are currently going for 60. That's a no brainer to buy the hobby box, but with metal avengers, i will probably stick to blasters.
Yes. Cost is higher on Hobby because the market has been willing to pay it, distributors limit supply and Upper Deck puts a huge amount of the product on ePack and limits physical boxes even more. Add on top the idea you can pull a high valued card … that makes Hobby boxes for adult collectors who have $$$ to spend.
