My cadillac does not have the arm spring eyelets in front like yours does. I was taught to attach long yellow springs shoulder height while kneeling to set up for supine arms, which would be much higher than your setting. Can you please speak to these differences? I've also seen instructors move the springs higher and higher for people rather than moving further along the mat. I'm thinking your way makes more sense because of the line of pull though.

Hey Amber, thanks so much for watching! So, I can't really speak to the why behind moving the yellow springs higher and higher to make them harder for a client. While I have worked with yellow springs at other studios. They are not my preference for most clients. If you order from balanced body def get their centerline grey springs. I'd get 2 sets one for the arms and one for the roll back bar. If you can order the contrology arm and legs springs even better.
I personally don't love the way the angle changes when we move the springs higher and higher. And that includes leg springs. I'd rather people use heavier springs or move further down the mat so that the tension of the springs isn't pulling oddly on the shoulder.
here's the beautiful thing about Pilates, you can teach it how it makes sense to you! I teach it this way because this is how Joseph Pilates taught my teacher. But also, my springs are heavier. So I can.
If you have any more questions feel free to reach out. Thank you for this one xx
