nice review. I own Altroz Diesel XZ+ and it's a fantastic car but I don't know why people underrated it. driving a diesel is always fun compared to petrol.
I guess, because of its 3cyl engine, they might underrate it. If TATA can give an additional engine option with 4 cylinders, then i think it would boom!!

No sir most of the petrol engine turbo kicksout after 2000rpm, so after 2000rpm you can feel the output of fun... but most of the drivers shift up their gears less than 2000rpm so they can't feel the joy.. in diesel it's look powerfull when shift under these rpm bcz of low end torque.. try petrol engine vehicle with higher rpm shifts.. then u feel the power and grunt it's op

What he said was 100 percent right. Diesel is best in terms of performance, stability . Though turbo petrol can be faster but still petrol can never have the grunt and grippy feel that diesel gives. Diesel is just punchy .

Altroz diesel la idle start stop kidayathu even in xz plus or dark edition.. I guess..
Diesel engine does not require that as it can provide sufficient power in lower RPM (as torque is higher) to run AC compressor. There is no significant fuel loss for short period in idle. So it's not useful in diesel vehicles compared to petrol.
As idle RPM might shoot up to 1400 to 1600 if AC is on in petrol. If AC is off RPM is 1200 for most vehicles. Where as 900 to 1000 RPM idle diesel engine can easily pull AC compressor load.

If User had figo TDCI, then could have tried Freestyle TDCI or new gen Figo Tdci, including 6 airbags and Tcs, Abs, automatic rain sensing wipers and automatic headlights, hill hold assist etc features cost 9.5 laks onroad for Freestyle diesel with a proven Ford best diesel engine in the market. You never feel that's a diesel engine, the sweet note from engine when rev always you love Ford, along with a best driving dynamics equal to VW polo.

I'm using Tata since 2003. As you said customer service was not good initially. But now from 2019 as i upgraded my tata vehicle....customer service is very good. Response and problem solving is quick. People must change their views now. Both the product and service have been improved alot.

Fit and finish is as per value. For a 10 lakh car plastics used are superior to i20 and Baleno. Pannel gaps are there, but there are no evident rattling of plastics.
Paint is probably where new gen TATA has excelled well. Paint is quality and finish is very good and par with German makers.
Any diesel car in wrong hands will have DPF issue. You have drive in low revs and most importantly diesels are ment for long distance drive. So once in a while you should go long drive to keep filter clean. So it's not only Altroz even 1.5 Hyundai CRDI will have DPF issue if not driven properly.
Nice car indeed. Normally I'm a petrol head. But this car has made me consider diesel cars now.

Ya I test driven Altroz Diesel. Yetho Lorry ottura maari erunthathu. Maybe test drive vehicle naala, but it was very noisy and NVH felt so high

Yes correct.. I had tried the test drive of altroz diesel.. because of noisy cabin and felt some vibration in steering and gear stick... Skipped the altroz... Tata need to focus on engine refinement and NVH..

What are you talking about? People have even survived 150 plus crash as well at the same some have died in 50 km crash. Car's safety is just increase your odds of surviving.. Just like a helmet. Global NCAP they check it in maximum velocity of 64km/hour, so even 80km/hour is no safety all the vehicle brand would be 'zero' star! that's the simple truth my friend.

5 star rating is not a myth, and people make you say that, a car crash worthiness depends on number of factors, from frame weight, material, crash member worthiness, air bag etc, Suzuki had worst Frame and structure which is improving now, and the rating is a guide and you can't say it's ignorable
believing a private GNCAP ratings is a fool thing. discriminating other brands only by a 64kmph speed tested safety rating. they tested with a stable poles or object. in real accident opponent may drive in 80.
Its not about stars, it's about safety, damn sure now they are robust,
You should accept the fact of maruti that almost many cars are hit in the market with worst in safety. Tata's Nexon , Tiago,tigor and altroz are one of the finest cars with safety that must be accepted.
Hyundai is always best in their segment by providing a to z in their car with good torque.
But they are also quite heavy and they are missing the safety.
Comparing Tata with Hyundai. You may find a lag in overtaking and initial pick up but not in robust structure
May be safety is depend on speed and time as u felt... But just kick the maruthi cars when it's standing idle... Then u will feel the difference
