The south umpqua has good gold from that gravel bar all the way into gaddis park in roseburg. I have spent most of my life crack cleaning this area with great results.
@@510prospecting that’s super cool! I’ve been learning about public lands to go find gold and gemstone on for a couple years now. I fought forest fires down in the Umpqua, beautiful river.
@510prospecting I get that. I've panned and creviced the South Umpqua but was somehow under the impression that you weren't allowed to dig big holes on the bank. Maybe heard it from Matt Matson,...can't remember. Anyway, carry-on :) 👍
Most people don't. Which a lot of people prefer so they can continue someone's hole with less work with the overburden. When the waters rise in the fall they get naturally filled back in
I love going here where i know i will get some gold. I just wish they had some sort of restrooms. Knowhere to take a dump. Im the kind of person who would rather shit in the woods over some nasty restroom but there isnt any access. So everyone shits in the bushes by the water which cant be good
@@510prospecting I'm actually gonna do some prospecting and nugget searches this winter in preps for the spring and summer. Even looking into some buried gold from the 1800s.
Nice to drive right up to the dig spot lol
Ha totally!
Nothing easy about mining… excellent video
So true. Some are harder than others. Thanks for watching!
That's a fun little spot, I enjoy sluicing there when there's a bit of flow
Yeah a little flow makes it easier!
Great effort!
Thank you! Cheers!

I’m sure you’ve done pretty good then! Thanks for watching.
So how much have you made from it throughout the years? Not planning to quit my job, but interesting weekend hobby. Curious

Thank you
Really great video I enjoyed 😉
Thank you!
I think it will be a good early summer, especially after all the weather we’ve had in Douglas County and beyond.
We’re headed out for the first time this weekend. Water levels are finally getting to a workable level. Thanks for watching!
that a good day
Yeah can’t complain at all!
Saw you on the 'lives' subbed, 👍 very cool what you're doing!!!!
Thank you for your support!
I live in southern Oregon. My wife and I find that much without all of that fancy equipment.
Good deal
Nice!
Ya left us a good spot!
@@510prospecting I was wondering if that was the same day or not? Awesome!
Cool video
Thank you!
Thats a massive river man.
Your not kidding! The water levels get crazy high when I’m flood stage.
This a group claim location or public location?
Public area

I thought it was illegal to use high bankers and motorized motors for the gold cube in Oregon
I live on South Umpqua and pan at Lawson's bar quite a bit
Recirculating and the water doesn’t go back into the waterway.
I'm not trying to be the mining cops here but I thought you were only allowed to take material from the river itself(underwater)...
@@psychosneighbor1509 the river flows here and if you dig down there is still water.

Anyway, carry-on :) 👍
Yall be careful with all that digging into a gravel bar & using powered equipment here in Oregon Since it's very illegal.
Yep panning and sliuce box only in Oregon.
Recirculating away from running water is fine. Main river is hundreds of feet away.
Do ya'all not fill in the holes? What about returning the site to as close to natural as possible?
Yep, we do.
Most people don't. Which a lot of people prefer so they can continue someone's hole with less work with the overburden. When the waters rise in the fall they get naturally filled back in
Curious wether you filled in that hole or not.
Always.

You’re not wrong.
Well my answer is, bring your own even if it is only a 5 gallon bucket, large garbage bag and a tarp.
Are we allowed to high bank down there at Lawson's?
No. Recirculating well away from any running water should be fine though.
0.243 ounces = roughly $400 based on current spot price ?
I wish. We measure in grams.
1/4 gram??? About 18$
I’m going to buy a house.

Are you from the east bay?
No. From Oregon
I'd find another place to go it's way more too much work for little prospects
Lots of other places but this one is convenient.
He always sounds out of breath lol
Hard work out there
I know that spot lol. Got hit hard this year!
It sure did!
