I suggest to viewers of this video to provide their people with Ackoff’s Data, Information, Knowledge, Understanding and Wisdom model before considering ADKAR model. That way allow for your people to start asking questions like Why are we not changing? If you want to achieve lasting success then understand/use the Iceberg model of change. Finally, understand Argyris’ Ladder of Inference model to deal with strong egos.
Interesting - seems to reflect the capacities of intellect & will - ie. to know and choose/pursue. AD - to know and choose what to start; KA - to know and choose how to follow through; R - reward(?) for doing so...?
Change models are the same. Dr. Kotter is no different. It's just packaged in a way to sell to people the obvious. Like bottled water brands. Water is water.
This video is very poorly designed. The message is not clear, example doesn't stick/ it was not complete. I watched it twice and I could not explain all the 5 steps myself with another example.
Great example Tim, explaining difference between Knowledge and Ability.. Add to this BJ Fogg's model of personal motivation: ua-cam.com/video/pj96sU1I_-k/v-deo.html
Liked what Tim said; building blocks in "ADKAR are sequential but not linear"!
After watching this, I'm going to use the ADKAR model in my Masters exam for Change Management tomorrow haha

What a lovely and natural discussion.
A nice model. Resonates with John Kotter's 8-step model. I love it.
A very nice model and informative , useful discussion.
thoughts on supporting/coaching 'desire'?
