    Looks sweet. Everything you do just has that "built not bought" look that you can't replicate without caring about your craft.

    That polished finish is just superb 🤩 You have a beautiful unique box to use in your office or in the bathroom right there, if you are not going to use it as a battery box ☺️

    I always love seeing new content on the channel. Another, very approachable, way for a DIYer to do a project like this is with hammer forming.

    Oh gosh, how awesome is your channel! I’ve just come across it as I’m looking to buy a bike to do by first build, and I’ve just binged watched for the last 2-3 hours lol.
    I’m just in Brisbane, so it’s awesome to see a local building some awesome bikes.

    Surprisingly, home 3D printed embossing dies also work really nicely for pressing sheet aluminium and thin steel.

      It would wanna be some strong filament to put up with 3mm aluminium pressing into it. But it’s a great idea and I’ll definitely try it if I get a 3D printer

      @CafeRacerGarage PETG with 100% infill is pretty strong! Folks make bead roller dies with it too.

    Nice work! You mentioned screws for the lid. What about a vintage approach? A leatherstrap. Could be nice! Cheers!

    Nice build. If you want to ship it to the USA, I'll use it on my KZ550 bobber. Lol

    Where did you get the brake attachment for the press? I followed the press link but didn't see that attachment.

    I have also seen someone use a 3d printer to make embossing shapes. Perhaps something to add to your Tool arsenal?

    The battery box looks awesome Dan. Was wondering how you would attach it to the bike if you were going to use it. Your welding is so bloody nice BTW

    Im a new subscriber here and your videos really help me to build my bike, do you have any video or your future video about how to make my seat frame as close as possible to my tyre? In cafe racer / gentleman style concept

    • @CafeRacerGarage
      @CafeRacerGarage  10 місяців тому

      Are you talking about the subframe or a separate frame for the seat? I have loads of videos showing how to make subframe and seats

    Hey Dan, bit of a sidetracked question, how do you attach electronic components to your trays? I've watched pretty much every video you posted and I can't seem to sort it out. I've been working on a tray for cb550 and I think I'm just going to use automotive double sided tape so I don't have to commit to anything and weld it.
    Thanks! Also, this is a dangerous channel because it makes me want to buy far too many tools.

    • @CafeRacerGarage
      @CafeRacerGarage  11 місяців тому

      I have the same problem with channels that I watch too don’t worry about that, but these tools will last you a lifetime so it’s totally worth it.
      You could use automotive double sided tape, but it all depends on what components you’re talking about. For something like an ignition module you could make it upside down lid out of some superthin steel, 0.5mm will be perfect just rivet the lid onto the electrics tray, leaving a cut out for the wires. It only need to keep the electrical component in place.
