Great repair, worked perfectly. My one question is, what should I do with the old LCD?(Functional, but connected to the old screen which was cracked beyond belief)
Look for a recycle center or see if maybe a local repair shop will let you drop it off. You don't want chemicals from the LCD ending up in the ground water supply.
Hi there, I have ordered a new replacement kit for my 5s, it was off ebay for very cheap only about 3 dollars, is it possible to transfer that black strip at the top, digitizer? (I think), and how well do you think it'll work? Great video as well!!
DenisV Did you buy just the glass? If so I would get my money back. It's not worth the effort and requires some specialized equipment that will cost you more than an entire replacement screen.
Does your home button brake if your lcd and the other two get damage am asking because mine has and I dunno if its broken or not someone please tell me???
Hello guys, i have a verry strange problem now, its like i damaged my logic board i think but i want to make sure... few weeks ago i rebuild my iphone black to a gold white phone , all set in place and all work fine except the home button, the home button does nothing anymore, first i taught i damaged the flex cable or the dock connector , i orderd a few home cable's & dock connectors to make sure that that is the problem. but it seems not to be working, i try to reassembly my phone back in the OLD housing and it still doe not work so now its damaged all the way... is there a chip that i might damaged why pulling out the battery or the logic board. or is the problem something else
+Glenn Jacobs While its hard to say exactly whats wrong I would strongly advise against restoring or upgrading your iOS. Look up "error 53" for more details. Hopefully you just dont have the cable plugged in correctly but I would start by inspecting everything near and including the home button with a magnifier. The smallest tear in the home button flex cable can prevent it from working and if thats the case you are in bad shape because fingerprint scanners cannot be replaced except by Apple and if you restore without the original you will have a brick.
+Go Cell Phone Repair Thanks for the responding, Actually i have tried it with 4 other dock connectors and 4 other home buttons to just make the home button work but it wont. Thats the reason why i ask you, did i damaged something on the board because everthing works fine except the button..
+Glenn Jacobs I see. Its possible. The charging port interface or something in that vicinity on the board seems like the most likely area from what you said.

Oh how Home Depot has retired that specific driver. Although I use wiha & ifixit, I still like my cheapies for quick fixes or as loaner tools.
Have they? I bought some recently although the handle is different than the older ones.
Go Cell Phone Repair yes the newer version or replacement is with a black handle
