  • When attending the CHADD conference in the USA, which took place in November 2022, we had the chance to meet and spend time with Polina Shkadron. Polina is a speech and language therapist (AKA Pathologist) based in New York.
As expected, we had similar views and a shared drive to raise awareness of the ‘correct’ way to tackle ADHD across international boundaries.
As a result, we are excited to announce that we held a joint webinar on Monday 6th February at 6PM. The webinar shows our insights on raising a child with ADHD while touching on multiple topics to show our methods.
During this session, you will gain valuable advice on how we can help you and your child achieve the best possible outcome on this journey.
Phil, Lisa and Polina will explore and provide tips on how to overcome the challenges with:
⭐️ Executive functions, which are the cognitive processes that allow us to plan, organise, remember details, and manage time efficiently. It also includes the ability to focus attention and resist impulses.
⭐️ The language that you use when you speak to your child with ADHD. It is important to use positive language that promotes understanding, compassionate communication, builds self-esteem and a stronger relationship with your child.
⭐️ The dangers of punitive parenting and how this can have a long-lasting effect on your child's emotions and behaviour patterns, leading to increased anxiety and disruptive behaviours.
⭐️ Cognitive flexibility, which can lead to your child not being able to adapt to changes or unexpected shifts in their daily routine. This often leads to extreme emotional upset. Learning to overcome this will lead to fewer disruptions to the daily schedule and help to keep your child's moods consistent throughout the day.
⭐️ The crossover between ADHD and ASD and the importance of treating each condition.
We have many more opportunities to better your understanding and knowledge on ADHD over on our website. Join one of our Power hours today and see how our treatments can benefit you!
