    You have no idea how much I've been suffering trying to figure this out while I slowly went mad (ToT)
    (this is coming from someone who went from FireAlpaca to Krita for animations and had NO idea what they are doing :'D)

    If I want a pasted image just be contained within a selected area, do you have to have paint on the initial mask layer before you do a mask group?

    • @ticklishwasabi
      @ticklishwasabi  Рік тому +1

      I believe so, because you need to define the area of the mask, and painting on the layer is how you do that. I don't know if that's the only method, but it's only one I know

      @@ticklishwasabi ok thanks because when i want to reduce the opacity on the pasted image to have some of the background image be seen it kinda doesnt work when you paint over the background image

    So this seems to make great sense -- but when my daughter is trying to paint on the clipping mask, the line layer disappears. Is there a setting to make this not happen? Thanks!

    • @ticklishwasabi
      @ticklishwasabi  Рік тому

      Sorry it's taken me so long to respond, but I'm honestly not sure. I guess the important thing to remember is that a clipping mask is sort of like creating a layer but limited the area of it based on the section you've painted. So painting in the clipping mask layer should reveal more area for you to paint within, layers placed above it shouldn't be affected by it, and layers below it (within the same group) should be restrict to the painted area of the mask, but nothing should be disappearing unless you have painted areas in that bottom layer that is located outside of the mask.

    It didnt work for me. I tried drawing on the alpha layer in the group and its invisible until i turn off alpha. Then with alpha off its just a normal layer. Kritas learning curve is insane...either that or its broken now!

    For me when i try the enclosed tool it just selects every line i have not closed areas how do i fix dat?

    • @ticklishwasabi
      @ticklishwasabi  Рік тому

      It's hard to diagnose without looking at it but, is it selecting the lines or the whole canvas? If it's selecting the whole canvas you are probably using the tool on a blank layer, or your lineart is in multiple layers which creates gaps. The selection tools only consider what is on the current layer. There might be a way to change that but I'm not sure. If it's selecting the lines itself you might be accidently clicking on a part of the canvas that isn't actually blank. In this case trying to find a blank enclosed area would be best, but you could also try inverting the selection.

    • @xjoyuyan7562
      @xjoyuyan7562 Рік тому

      I fixed it now, the tool for me only works with certain brush that doesn’t have a pressure sense for the opacity, maybe it’s because if the opacity is too low it’s considered a gap, so I just gotta use a pure colored brush for the lines

    Everything else works expect resizing the imported image , it just says in w.e position it imports and won't move, when i try to move it then it only moves the mask. I am missing something but can't for the life of me figure out what I re watched atleast 8x by now 🤣🤣

    • @alwaysberandom6470
      @alwaysberandom6470 4 місяці тому

      The lines from the contiguous selection tool only go away when i go to move the picture but its like its already cut out the image to fit the mask and the rest of the image disappears so i can't move it.
