This video (and the whole Johto covers series actually) was supposed to be out during summer, but hey Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak came out, I covered Malzeno, Espinas... you know about it now haha.
I gotta admit, this is one of my best achievements and I am really nervous about it at the same time. The other thing I am sure of right now is that this piece might be the toughest to cover and to understand alongside Cynthia's.
When I first asked Carl if he wanted to work on this insane piece with me, he gladly accepted right away and we knew we would have an awesome time recording the guitars, finding the licks and especially add a solo near the end. But man, building the orchestral parts was hard as hell and sometimes felt a bit exhausting for the Pokémon Masters version.
A part of me believes that the orchestral sections at 2:33, 3:49 and 4:34 could have been somehow better, but I ended thinking this will go as it is because it is good still, and I don't wanted to keep you guys waiting much longer. If you have a word to say on this please do, this is important to me (and Carl in this case too)!
That being said, the METAL side of it was a blast to do and so were the video recording sessions! We worked from May to September on the cover and everything in the video (except the bass intro) was recorded in Nancy, the city where I study since a few years now. Toti took his cameraman role one more time (first time was for the Malzeno cover) and he did, again, such a great job!
For guitar stuff, I think this cover contains quite a lot of really unique riff patterns (I mean, considering the previous covers) and some were tough to keep up the pace with! Same goes for the leads, Carl definitely made a super job and I am so grateful for that.
There are two very short moments in the video where we do not play the right chords because I reworked the harmony some weeks after the filming sessions (the rhythmic patterns are still correct though).
We hope you guys will all dig this piece as Hell, because we did and we still do! Enjoy!

Covers of this caliber always make me think back on the journey that led one to this point in time. I remember so well how you started from the very damn bottom a mere 5 years ago (ouch I felt old saying that) and here you are making one literal banger after another! The attention to detail and arrangement is just incredible (to be fair, I did not compare it to the source material). It took me long enough to finally watch this and drop a comment, but oh man ... what a bliss~
The way you introduced the piano at 1:00 is just so smooth and adds such an incredibly nice touch to it all. And quite frankly bro, the orchestral parts at 2:33, 3:49 and 4:34 are the literal goddamn highlights of this entire monster cover (as if it weren't already jammed packed with so many amazing motives)!!
This one really lived up to the hype! Awesome job to both you and Carl who also seemed to be doing an incredible job here! Hat's off to you two lads :D

The moments you pointed out are my favourite too so I'm really glad that they succeed to stand out even if the whole piece is 90% of the time on steroids (props to Carl for his energy and his awesome work on the solo again)!
