Thank you for giving us REAL NATIVE recipe!!! 🇳🇬🇳🇬Without the rubbish that other UA-camrs add such as garlic, ginger, etc. to owo so that they think they will look sophisticated online instead they are just rubbishing our grandmothers traditional food and recipes! Our heritage mixed with cumin! OMG They’re Just spoiling the authentic flavor in the name of “my own recipe uses garlic” 🙄 Your ancestors are pleased with you and so am I for this authentic Urhobo recipe, thank you! 🤗

New friend here
I am Igbo married to urhobo. Can’t wait to try this native soup.. thank you
Looks yummy, can i use #potash alone cause i dont have #naitve salt in europe here, more grace
I use potash and it’s very nice
I tried it🤭 it’s my first time🥲I’ll try again. Mines too thick
Please where can one get this native salt and how can someone tell the difference between native palm oil and the ordinary one
I don’t add starch wen cooking my owo soup I prefer using garri only to serve as the thickener
Try using starch it has its own taste on it ❤
Include ingredients in description kindly
Ur native salt is it d something has sea salt
Can you use any type of garri like white garri i mean
Yes
Owo and plantation
Must I use the potash?
Yes very important
I was actually thinking of making this. Does potash has a Yoruba name? I grew up in Sapele but currently in Lagos, so I don't if it has another name.
Yoruba name for potash (Kaun)
Igbo (Akanwa) Hausa (Kanwa)
Akaun is the yoruba name
Akaun is the yoruba name
I never knew u use garri
You can use garri for thickening just the way you use pounded yam to thicken white soup
This is not how to make it traditionally madam ur oil come last
That’s how it’s made madam do your own and stop correcting what is right
