This parabolic mic sound amplifier supposedly “allows you to hear sounds up to 300 feet away and see clearly with a built in 8x magnification monocular”. Frankly, the official claims sound too fascinating to ignore.

The device is intended for bird watching. A bird's natural habitat isn't city buildings void open spaces. the implied use of it is solely for being in nature. trees and vegetation are natural sound dampering(no echoes) giving a totally different experience.

Same with or without? I have one of these and I can hear conversations 100's of meters away without problem that I cannot hear with it.
Did you actually press the button on the "gun" to activate it? I never saw you do that. Nor did I see you change the volume level at all.
In addition, there was no control test on this review for a relative result.
I don't think you were using this correctly and I recommend you try again!

At 2minutes57 seconds you've just stated that you may as well take them off as you'll hear it at the same level. This is clear indication that you're not pressing the button, or you don't have the volume turned up.
In addition to not testing the item properly, using it incorrectly and then blaming the product, you've not answered the one question you put in the title - "Is it Legal?".
I love what you're trying to do with this channel, but if this video is a good example of your reviews then you still have some way to go. I'd be happy to help if you would like it.

What is this device capable of and what does not work based on your own experience?
@@GameNOWRoom The device is designed as a Line of Sight amplifier, the dish working like Radio telescope dishes, collecting as many sound waves as possible and focusing them towards the microphone at the end of the boom. LINE OF SIGHT is required, obstructions will prevent the audio from working correctly. (Some people have purchased these to use for bird watching, from INSIDE their house (DOUBLE facepalm)).
Fit a 9V battery as shown but then turn the volume knob all the way down to start with (to protect your ears). To setup and test, connect the headphones and put them on. Go outdoors and look for a sound source somewhere between 50 to 100 meters away. Point the device at the sound source and pull the trigger to activate the amplifier. At first you will hear nothing because we've turned the volume down, so start turning the volume up until you can hear what you're pointing at comfortably, without damaging your ears. Et voila - simples really.
I can't think of anything one might expect it to be able to do that it cannot - If anyone has any specific sensible questions of "Can it do", please feel free to ask.

I was wondering how good it will work. For example if you listen to birds. I think that only a bit wind brings it to a complete failure

This is just a class-D amplifier with a really bad electret microphone, the real ones, uses a multi spectrum active filters amplifiers(yes, amplifiers, in a professional one there's at least 4 of them) and diaphragm microfone, and the high tech ones, have a reflective membrane with lasers and a 8MP CMOS sensor, and they're ITAR equipments, can't be sold to general public, and have a built in "studio" console in the "toolbox", so the agent can adjust the gain, filters, and all of those things on field, and it's starting price is something around US$ 10,000...so it's obviously that this thing it's just a child's toy.

There was a hack on some old ones. You had to change a resistor so you can hear people talkx

There is a volume dial on left side it comes on zero you must rotate it all the way up I can hear my neighbor talking inside her house when aimed at the window. This device works great this guy has no clue what he is doing disregard this video. I use this in my bigfoot research absolutely love it.

He didn't realize he wasn't even using it right. And in doing so, he turned off many potential buyers. To bad the manufacturer didn't contact this dufus and threaten a suit or at least guide him on how to properly use it.

@@rel0yud He wasn't even using it right. He failed to activate it when he was pointing it at the sound source. Read some of the other comments from people that have one and have no problem with it and say it does indeed work as advertised.

No, you are supposed to aim it at a bird or other sound outside. It is used by bird watchers. Do you have wild birds in the next room? The guy didn't know how to use it right.
