After decades, the Halloween saga is coming to an end. Again. In a different way, and like in a different timeline? Don’t worry about it too much- the point is, Michael Myers is BACK. Kind of. Actually he’s not really in this movie, but he’s definitely on the posters and in the trailers. So that’s pretty cool!
Halloween Ends definitely raises some questions. Like why, in this movie marketed as the epic final showdown between Michael Myers and Laurie Strode, are we spending 90% of our time with a new dude named Corey? Why did Michael go from being an unstoppable force of evil in the last movie to being a weak old man living in the sewer? Why is Laurie living so calmly and casually now that Michael Myers has killed her daughter and is roaming free somewhere?
To answer all these questions, check out the pitch meeting that led to the Halloween Ends!

Changing the whole personality of the main character for the convenience of the plot is TIGHT!
It sure is, sir!
What plot?
I assume it's implied she tried to change after feeling responsible for what happened.
I thought it would be harder, but it was super easy, barely an inconvenience!
There's a plot?
“Is it supernatural?” “Who knows…” “You?…” “Nope” best Pitch Meeting joke in a while. 😂
"Nope!"
Reminds me of the Wonder Woman ‘84 pitch where he says:
“Who’s to say?”
“You are!”
“Yeeah”
I really hope this becomes a new catch phrase.
You forgot the quick "No." reaction, and then goes on.
I have been waiting so long for this :

"Yeah, Michael Myers is back, maybe"
"Yes, and also Cory, mostly Cory"
"I don't know who that is"

"and also Corey... Mostly Corey...." I love the delivery of that line
My friend and I use “and also COR-EY… mostly Corey” in regular conversation 3:26
I guess you can say...Corey's in the house...
Sidelining the horror icon after propping him up for a final battle, only to pull a half-assed bait and switch, and then only to abandon it after dedicating 3/4 of the movie to it, is TIGHT!!!

It’s Ending time!

@@jesseramirez9062 It sure happened in my mind when it was wandering off during the movie.
Somehow, Michael Myers has returned.

Allison being called Laurie’s daughter twice in this video shows how little their relationship matters to this movie lmao
“Michael Myers is BACK...maybe” is super underrated, barely acknowledged
Nobody's got time to go through every hilarious thing those two separate and distinctly different individuals said. That would be super time-consuming, largely an inconvenience.

@Not gonna lie No thanks
Written in a book… to last forever 😁
I guess they were stealing from what Sansa says to Ramsey in GoT
@Not gonna lie You're a massive bellend!
The thing is if they wanted to add Corey in as a character then they could’ve added him in in 2018, then slowly made him a character that would eventually set up an entirely new slasher franchise with Allyson being the one to fight him
Or they could've just scrapped that piece of shit "Kills" and made that a Corey introduction and "Ends" the sequel.
That sounds like an even worse idea than the one they got done
I agree. I thought about it & it would have been more “organic” if Oscar from 2018 was actually Corey. Same situation occurs of the awkward drunk kiss attempt & Myers stalking the character in the yard. However- before he is killed, the property owner (I’m thinking a big buff guy) attacks Myers / gives the kid time to escape from the gate…then runs past Allyson & curses her out / vanishes.Prooerty Owner is the dead person on the gate. .. Corey is set “up” for Kills /Ends
@@Deep_Sky_Bri Not a bad setup. Too bad none of the Halloween movies are well thought out.
@@rcole718 But……Kills was 100x better than Ends. And at least it had Michael Myers in it and not some lame ass adult who gets beat up by high school kids for a quarter of the movie….and a romance story for the rest 😂
Some of the best Pitch Meetings are when Ryan doesnt really have to write a script cause the movie is just THAT EASY to make fun of!
I can only imagine that some guy named Corey broke into the movie script writers' conference room at night and printed out his self-insert _Halloween_ fanfiction, but then forgot the pages in the printer when he went to get a soda, and those pages got mixed up with the actual shooting script.
That's probably how the movie got made
I believe it
THIS
That makes so much sense. 💗
Underrated comment.
“Who knows…”
“You?”
“Nope”
Honestly I feel this line applies to multiple movies these days😂
I loved that line yes it was perfect. Just put stuff in there it seems and see if it sticks
This seems to apply to everything but a few outta the blue golden goose movies that appear every so often
I tried to screenshot Ryan when he points and says "you". That's meme gold right there!
@@christophergboothe7760 yeah with zero thought behind it, that’s how I felt in Thor Love and Thunder when he just gave all those kids the Odin Force 😂 I was like why didn’t he do this before?!! Then they gave the stupidest “answer” after the fact

@@jimjones5530 could probably stitch that clip into a whole bunch of older Pitch meetings 😂
"These tiny musicians will not leave this guy alone" has to be one of my all time favorite Pitch Meeting lines.
The director literally said “I never intended this to be a Laurie Strode and Michael Myers movie” literally says the director who put Laurie and Myers on the movie poster
Or maybe the Producers had the final say about that. And likely about the fact that the trailers hint an entirely different movie than it really is.
It probably would also have had a very different ending if the director had gotten what he wanted. For me at least it was the best Halloween movie since the original.
Marketing sounds like something the producers/studio would oversee more than the director.
You know the director doesn't control literally every aspect of a movie right?
@@Sharlez123 you're smoking crack
@Khameleon I didn't want the movie that was teased in the trailers and marketing. I wanted something new. And I got that, I felt that it was incredibly well put together. I also didn't mind it at all that Michael was old and weak.
This was 100% the conversation the filmmakers had in the writers room.
Verbatim
ikr
It wasn't just that the movie was bad, it was weird and bizarre.
WHOOPSY!
I swear writer rooms all have a giant hookah filled with weed that is 34% Tetra-hydra-stupid
The line about the finale being a fight between an old man and a grandma killed me
Yeah not sure how mike was such a bitch when he clearly could regenerate from gunshot wounds and most other instantly lethal hits in the last movie.
Best kill in the movie.
I'm sure I saw that on Family Guy when there was the epic battle between Herbert and the Notzee.
Violent grandma's are tight.
My immediate thought after watching the movie was "Michael Myers really just got physically bullied by a nerd and a senior citizen in his 2 minutes of screen time?"
"Are they gonna kiss?"
Nothing will ever bring me more joy than applying the same low-effort concept that is most movie romances and applying it to people we definitely aren't supposed to ship 🤣
“So Laurie sets up Corey with her daughter”
“You mean her granddaughter?”
“Who cares!”
Not setting up Corey as the next Halloween knife killer to milk more money out of the franchise is TIGHT!
Don't give them any ideas, man!!!!
Keep your voice down.
he's going to be alive in the next movie that's how its works isn't it?
they said it's the final halloween movie but they've said that before so i expect there to be 20 more in the future basically until the human race dies
I mean, he survived a knife in his neck, maybe he also survived his neck being snapped.
He impregnated the grand daughter… expect a “rebirth”
Pitch meetings is how I normally learn about movies that I don’t wanna pay for
That's barely an inconvenience for you!
The way he says “And the grandmother wins!” 🤣🤣🤣
"Hey he's the guy this is supposed to be about!" Absolute gold.
I like how even Ryan thinks Allyson is Laurie's daughter even though she is actually her granddaughter. But honestly who cares because the director doesn't. The director only loves Cory in the house
And he really didn't last that long in the house either 🤣
Nobody ever cared about Laurie either, the movies were about the villain but they deluded themselves in making the granny the star randomly and it ended in bad shlok
@@yodorr6249 No way did you just say she became the star randomly 💀. The first two movies are about Michael AND Laurie. The 4th and 5th one is about Michael trying to get Laurie's daughter. The 6th is about Laurie's cousin protecting her granddaughter from Michael. The 7th is about Laurie confronting Michael. Resurrection was the black sheep. The remakes (as horrible as that 2nd one was) was about Michael and Laurie. Say what you will about this latest trilogy, but Laurie being the main protagonist makes total sense
I’m confused. Didn’t Halloween Kills end with Lori declaring she was going to take on Michael Myers and kill him once and for all? What happened in between that movie and this one?
Even the writers don't know
i was so confused with this movie
That was an alternate ending, but it's still stupid that she completely dropped her vendetta.
This is hardly the biggest problem in the movie, but it bugged me in the opening scene when he kicks the door open that the door hitting the kid somehow sends him *over a bannister* that is quite possibly taller than he is
Or at the very least, taller than his center of gravity.
I know it's just a movie so it doesn't have to be perfectly realistic but they could have had the kid die in any old way for the purpose of the plot and they chose to have it happen in an impossible way.
Probably was meant to (faux) foreshadow Cory has superhuman strength so everyone thinks he’s gonna be the new Shape.
@@magicmulder superhuman strength from Corey wouldn't make the kid defy the laws of physics though
@@richardtheconquerer probably would have been better if they setup the story where maybe the bannister is old and weak so when it hit the kid broke through it if they really really wanted the kid to fall from that position

Yeah, that was really unexpected and funny. :D
Ok
Why do you need every funny thing to be repeated over and over again?
@@loveboat
Repeating every fun thing over and over is tight!
They kinda do that. Producer Guy "Why would blah blah?" Writer guy "I don't know!"
Watching these before the movie is always a trip because with some of them you just sit there going “That can’t actually be what happened in this movie and Ryan must be making this up”
It's saved me so much time avoiding absolute junk that I mighta been on the fence about watching.
Do not waste your time on this movie. It was legit made to troll Myers fans.
It's probably better to watch the movie first followed by the pitch meeting, because then both will be fresh (the movie itself followed by having all its flaws pointed out to you)

I am one of the few people who enjoyed this film, but I can’t say that this Pitch Meeting was wrong
In a delete scene Lori asks Cory how he got the mask and he said "actually it was pretty easy, barely an inconvenience".
The best part of the movie is when Laurie surprised Michael and Michael shouted, "Laurie, it's you! You're the Halloween Ends!!!"
"The memory of him will fade...........wait, she wrote that in a book."

This video literally points out every single problem I have with the movie. Thank you so much for making this
I also thought it was so weird how Laurie spent every waking moment preparing for him to return while he was literally locked up for 40 YEARS, but now that he’s on the loose and went on his most violent massive killing spree she’s just chillin 😂😂 I was like uh what
Exactly these writers have lost it
As Ross Geller would observe, she was on a break.
The premise of stocking up for 40 years to prepare for Michael makes more sense to the viewer who are aware of all of the other Halloween films and know that Michael is an unstoppable killing machine. The problem is in this new continuity, none of the other sequels exists, so Michael is just one unusually durable guy who killed 3 people 40 years ago and hadn’t harmed a single soul since. This makes Laurie’s paranoia less believable to begin with.
@@windowsVD I think he killed five confirmed people. There was a driver in there, and in Kills we have the other cop. I guess you could argue the other cop was killed by Hawkins (so what was the point of bringing Hawkins back after his death in 2018?) or by himself in the "official" story that covered up Hawkins' completely understandable screw-up which no one would've blamed on him anyway. But honestly, that's splitting hairs -- that cop died because Michael was in the room.
So if we count that guy, Michael had 5 confirmed kills in 1978 (could've been more on the road) and one in 1963.
Your point remains, of course.
