Saw woman swimming under ice using Wim Hof breathing on Netflix human playground documentary, she had passed out under water before, made me switch off. The documentary also featured people risking themselves and pain in other sports. I think the way we need to constantly prove how tough we are and how much we can take to point beyond what is safe is a part of so many sports. The way our society glorifies this behaviour is definitely part of the problem.

And since then I shower with cold water at the end of each regular shower. This Wim Hof guy is nothing but a charlatan drunk promoted by his money grabbing greedy son.

When my husband has women in his classes, I could care less, I’m working in the office. I am not freezing my husband out 😂 I would love it if he started doing office work, but that’s not going to happen. So I can understand SOME the son’s work. But our business is 50/50 owned by us. He's disparaging his character and defaming him by revealing every unsavory detail. He even comments on his relationship with his family and son. Broadcasting predominantly negative views casts a shadow of defamation over you. Do you genuinely believe you're exempt from scrutiny?
It's a misconception to think that only Wim's followers are questioning your intentions. I've only seen Wim on 'Super Humans' and haven't delved into his methods. I'm unfamiliar with you and the organization, having only stumbled upon your video. Being a journalist doesn't entitle you to share every intimate detail of someone's life. Such actions suggest you're not a safe keeper of personal confidences. It's a cautionary tale: confide in you, and the world might just hear about it.

@@sgcarney Ah, Scott, how quickly the tides turn! When you were singing Wim's praises, everyone was on board, and your credibility was the gold standard, wasn't it? But now that the tune has changed, suddenly there's a chorus of doubters? How... *unexpected*. Maybe it's not about what changed with Wim, but what changed with you?
One day you're promoting Wim as the next big thing, and the next, he's a 'cult leader' in need of 'mental help'? It's almost poetic how quickly your perceptions shift. Tell me, did this revelation come to you in a dream, or did you just wake up on the 'skeptical' side of the bed one morning? It's truly fascinating how the same eyes that once admired now only criticize.
Also, let's get this straight: Wim puts out disclaimers, explicitly warning against practicing his methods in water due to the risks, yet he's the one who 'seems not to care'? It's almost as if you're suggesting that people can't read or make informed decisions for themselves. But sure, let's pin it all on Wim. After all, it's so much easier to point fingers than to acknowledge personal responsibility, isn't it?

Hi Scott, your work has informed me greatly about the whole Wim Hof thing, which I was not aware of through his website. I did subscribe to his email list for a while, but after I saw your video(s), particularly the one with everyone in the water in a circle holding their breath with their heads underwater (though noticably a few chose to not take part or came up for air quickly), it changed my feeling about it all. I thought Wim just did the 'ice' stuff - so thank you for pointing out the breathwork-in-water side of things. I had assumed that the breathwork was done on land and separate to the water/ice work. It was a shock to learn otherwise. Anyway, please be encouraged. I appreciate it's a dilemma for you with your personal friendship with Wim and your conscience and professional integrity. Wim Hof aside, I found your channel via the 'cult' connection, and wonder if you've heard of a chap named Steven Hassan? Having escaped the Moonies, he now helps people who have been affected by cults.
