Notice how when he sings, he has almost no control over his bodily movements, and he's constantly forgetting/improvising the lyrics and melodies, yet when he's speaking, even though he's still a little nervous, he's direct, articulate, and able to defend himself argumentatively. He has it in his mind that his father said he hated him because he sang too WELL, which we know is not true, since there is no way his father could think he can sing well. His father probably told him that he hated his singing and Douglas couldn't accept that. He is not good at accepting criticism and the word "no." He completely tuned out everything Simon and Randy said and acknowledged only Paula's neutral criticism which he tried to twist into a compliment. I definitely would not want someone like Douglas dating my daughter or any female family member as he seems to be the type to keep on with whatever his intent may be even when you tell him no. He had no respect for the judges and probably has little respect or ability to listen to anyone who does not tell him what he wants to hear. He has some serious deep rooted problems.
