I was at the game. I was on the Washington side. I watched as DQ went to the kicker after his 2nd miss. It was clear DQ was consoling him. Dont get me wrong. I hope they cut that kid. But I admire how DQ handled it.

Howell is a career backup. You now have a taste of a real starting caliber QB. To think some fans were willing to settle for Howell. Smdh

Two major areas: 1. diagnosing the defence and decision making 2. Accuracy and ball placement. Sam’s racking up sacks still (4 in 4 qts) up in Seattle and this is still preseason.

If Jamin Davis makes the roster this is another example of why players love to play defense for Quinn. Coming in Davis was in the doghouse but he earned it. Quinn has always said he loves people working hard. If Davis hard work earns him a roster spot just proves to existing players and future free agents that this man will work with you in the time allowed to help you be great. Players can only respect that

They also were playing a lot of soft zone coverage so he was throwing more check downs this game… I like that he reads the field pre and post snap and takes what the defense gives him!!
No, the Dolphins were aggressively blitzing. The offense was practicing up-tempo which doesn’t include deep shots because it takes longer to set at the LOS. Daniels was throwing into tight windows putting the ball only where the WR can catch it. It was far from soft zone.

@@gavinscott10The secondary in general has not been a pretty sight. The safety room actually looks both talented and deep but the corners minus slot defender Mikey Sanstril and maybe BSJ as a #2 corner is mighty scary. We'll see if Michael Davis (or is it Sean Davis? The CB that was picked up in FA from the Chargers) could maybe end up being a decent #1 if he can get back to his 2021/2022 self which was actually pretty good.
You can't fix every hole in one off season but they did a terrific job in many other areas so I can't complain.
Idk, I’d say depth at WR wasn’t impressive. They had multiple drops including the game tying TD.
The secondary is a work in progress but it’s still early and the Dolphins still only score 13 points

Reeves is just a special teams dude...not impressed with him as a safety... he's not good at all...

An average pass rush needs elite secondary play...with a very good pass rush a team could get away with have average to even below average corners. When a team has a below average pass rush and a below average secondary they are in trouble. I hope they grow... I really do.

JD5 may be the best rookie QB this draft. He’s making decisions better than the rest. Just seems ahead of the curve. It’s nuts. His legs are his way out. He may not have all the arm talent of Caleb Williams, but great arm talent may be the result of poor decision making and needing to thread the needle. Go JD5
If you’re a vet and not a starter- you DO NOT get to pick a number over a starter. That’s just dumb
Seniority over starters. The person who’s been on the team the longest gets the number over a new player regardless if starting or riding the bench.

I'm thinking Bates always falls onto every catch because he's so worried about fumbling. Look at the end of that big catch over the middle and he not only falls to the ground, but he also curled up onto the ball like he was expecting everyone in the defense to be trying to punch it out. That's too much fear on his part.

JD5 looked like a seasoned veteran at times and for a rookie he is truly amazing with the command he is showing over the offense this early in his career and just the fact that all the QB's are learning a new offense to them but it looks like JD5 has it down the best at this time. And for the kicker it is simple please find someone else.

I noticed what Better_Daise said about "yaccuracy" with JD. I admit as much as I was a Howell fan, he didn't "lead" receivers for better YAC. And JD is looking definitely a big level better than Howell already; he reads defenses better, pre-snap, and progressions. His release is much quicker, which is critical with a suspect oline. Howell was at best, Cousins. JD is looking like he can take us to the promised land, if he can stay healthy. We have our franchise QB, finally.
G2g. I don't think he was ever in much danger of getting cut. At the very least he was good depth at LB and a high end situational pass rushing LB. Now he's just adding more to the spots he can back up at a high level

Regular season we don’t know that both Jayden’s drives would’ve ended in FGA’s. If the full playbook was available they very well could have resulted in 1st downs and 6 points

Didn't Rico originally say that Tyler Owens wasn't good enough to be on the field when he was drafted and that he wanted Washington to draft him just in case he can reach his potential eventually? If he's already showing out, that says a ton about our coaching staff!

I get it, it's preseason, but the half should have been 12-10 us, and maybe the final 13-12 Miami, but we need a kicker. It is a momentum killer, in games do we go for a 1st on 4th D because we don't trust the K, and it's deja vu with ST kicking issues. I would have thought this fixed by now, no one thought either K was going to be on this team at the start of the season. Trade Dotson or give up a DP, but fix this already. Wylie still looks iffy, and the play at the 2-minute warning where the C is standing there starring at a LB 5 yds away and the RG is engaged with DE and RT while whomever shot the G gap is in the QB's face is not a good look for the oline. Reminds me of what happened too many times last year with delay blitz or stunts.

BSJ also read the route wrong. His read step was bad.
Guys like Mathis (2nd rounder) & Butler (4th rounder) who might not make the team bc of a numbers crunch.. should be traded for other players who might not make another team or picks! Mathis for Terrace Marshall (CAR- WR) makes a ton of sense for both teams

If Dyami brown is WR 2 why is that a problem? As long as hes getting open and catching everything like he has it’s not a problem. How many plays you seen Dotson make? If we just put him at WR2 while he hasn’t done anything this offseason/preseason that would be a BIGGER problem. If Dyami is playing the way he has consistently it’s NOT a problem at all

We are going to be a good team with a horrible record. Our resistance to actually sign some real CBs will kill this defense and our horrible WR room will kill our offense. I personally think the WR room is a worse concern than the oline.

If Dyami Brown is your #2 WR on the depth chart that is straight up TERRIBLE!!! Does any other team in the league boast a #2 WR that has similar production (or lack thereof 😂) and similar skill sets? None that I can think of? I know the Patriots probably literally have thee worst WR corps in the entire league and I guess their #2 WR (whoever the hell that is? 😂) is probably around the same as Brown talent wise but that's being compared to arguably thee worst recieving corps in the league so that's not exactly inspiring confidence here! The Titans have to have a bottom 5 recieving corps too. I'll have to do a little digging it seems but now you've piqued my interest 😂
I also think the FO really should have held onto Curtis Samuel. Just imagine having him here now. It would have the recieving corps looking pretty swell. Buffalo is paying him around $12M a season or so for I believe three years. It could've been $14M but I think it was closer to around $12M. Washington could have easily afforded that and Samuel would have fit in Kliff Kingsberrys offense too. What do you all say?
The defense only gave up 13 point with out those guys not playing so when they get in there it's only going to get better

The only thing we got from him was Terry and a bad terrible record so we landed Jayden but he didn't actually mean to do that so out of 4 years we got Terry, probably Quan and a couple JAG average role players thats it out of like 30 players he drafted! We need everything still. Except for QB and Probably safety and our D Tackles should be good for a few years adding Jonny. Rob made us worse than Gruden. Gruden actually had some good teams and some good players. Ron man....

This was a very boring game to watch, at least the coaches got a chance evaluate some the guys they
needed to evaluate before they have to start cutting their roster. I must admit I really was not all that
impressed with the overall team performance. But at least JD has been looking good. One thing I have
learned over the years is, it's hard to judge a team from their performance in the preseason games.
