I'm 32 years old, I've loved gaming most of my life across old PC games through PS/Nintendo/Xbox but this game is hands down the best I've ever played, this theme sends shivers down my spine even hearing decades later
Same man. I’m 32 years old that spent all my life across Nintendo/Sega/PlayStation and PC games but the best is not only this game but the entire franchise
You know whenever I face a difficult time in my life I always hear Liquid yelling "Not yet Snake! It's not over Yet!!" It's just that determination in His voice to keep going that's inspiring
Gray Fox: "Now, make me feel it! Make me feel alive again!" "Good! Now we can fight as warriors! Hand to hand! It is the basis of all combat. Only a fool trusts his life to a weapon!" "That's good, Snake! Hurry up and catch me!" "Where are you looking?" "I'm here, Snake!" "Like old times!? I've been waiting for this pain!!" "Hurt me more!" "More! MORE!!" "That's it, I remember that punch..." "Do you remember, Snake? The feel of battle? The clashing of bone and sinew?"
"So, the Snake's finally come out of his hole! Are you ready now, my brother?" _"WHY ARE YOU CALLING ME BROTHER? WHO THE HELL ARE YOU?!"_ "I'm YOU! I'm your shadow!" _"WHAT?!"_ "Ask the Father you killed! I'll send you to hell to meet him!!"
I can still hear Gray Fox groaning while snake punches and kicks him 3 hit combo in Otacon’s lab. Takes me back to being a kid playing this game with my brother during the summer in the 90s.
Still the best game from the franchise along with Snake Eater. Most iconic bosses: Revolver Ocelot, Sniper Wolf, Raven, Grayfox, Liquid...Most creative sequences: using a cigare to detect x-rays, switching controller port to defeat Psycho Mantis, abseiling to escape the Hind once you run out of stingers, surviving the torture chamber, taking care not to leave footprints in the snow, giving the flue to the guards, etc. Haven't played the game in 25 years but that's fucking sweet memories....
I used this song every gym session when I went to the gym because it activated the inner metal gear solid snake to defeat my inner liquid and to conquere myself!!!!!!!!!!
This music is nostalgic. Fight every boss using strategy to defeat them was fantastic. Snake vs Gray Fox in hand to hand combat using chaff living in my memories. Good times. "Do you remember, snake? The feel of battle. The clash of bones and sinew.
Esse tema é muito bom, você sente a urgência nele de verdade, um clima de batalha, de ter que vencer, realmente é um tema de duelo muito bem feito. Todos os sons na música individualmente gritam isso. É perfeita.
I've remained Solid on this, no pun intended, that English Dubs to Japanese works are terrible, except for MGS, Silent Hill 1-3. That said, I have the Japanese Premium Collector's Edition of Metal Gear Solid, I think in came out in Japan in 2000, maybe 1999. I played it on modded PS1 and yep, the Japanese dub is as good.
This is just the best boss music ever, save for maybe the Liquid Ocelot medley in MGS4 and You're my brother from RDR2. The adrenaline, tension and heroism of this track is so palpable. I adore it.
Completely wrong. A high speed rifle round has far more energy than a slower projectile of equal size. High speed rifle rounds cause cavitation upon impacting targets that are mostly liquid like human bodies. This causes a wound channel much greater than the size of the round even if the bullet passes completely through the person

Heroic? More like desperation I think. It's not meant to sound heroic more cold and robotic which I think they nailed.
Then again industrial metal was pretty big at the time. I think the soundtrack overall reflects this well.
@brianj4201 I can feel the desperation in the bassline and drums, but the main melody that comes back around feels heroic, to me at least.
