This game doesn't get enough credit for it's soundtrack, it resonates so well with the setting .. It can be cold, romantic, fast or completely ominous and still work in every way.

I love that this theme was also used during gray fox's dying speech as well as the second fight with metal gear. It added more emotion to everything and felt more epic. Fuck I love this game it's so good.

You know, it is a wonder how Liquid survived fighting Solid THREE TIMES. First, it was the Hind D, where he somehow made it out alive. Then Metal Gear REX exploding. There's no way any mortal man could've survived that. Then, after that, we think we took care of Liquid during that final boss fight, but NO! He then comes cruising in that jeep trying to kill you with a FAMAS. I figured it has something to do with him possessing the dominant genes or something, but it's still a mystery to me.

To explain why this music is so epic just to get to this moment to hear it in the game I had to all of the following : - be shot out of a submarine in a torpedo - sneak past a bunch of special forces terrorist dudes. - try and rescue a goverment dude who then has a heart attack. - shoot a Russian cowboy in a gun fight in a room with a hostage with wires attached to C4 explosives - then Ninja shows up sliced the cowboys hand off. - recue a corporate arms dealer who mysteriously dies - Crawl through an air lock with laser beams and poison gas using a pack cigarettes - blow up an M1 tank - get pass a floor that would zap my with electricity when i step on it. - beat a cyborg ninja who turns out to be your former bff in a fist fight to rescue a nerd - defeat a gas mask wearing psychic dude throwing furniture at you while your waifu is doin dumb shit. - watch your waifu do dumb shit and get shot by a sniper - go all the way to the armory at the begining to find a sniper rifle - shoot this crazy hot chick in a sniper duel - get captured by said crazy hot chick and some special forces dudes - surivive a torture session while being strapped to a giant electric chair - use some ketchup to outsmart a guard with diarrhea - go all the way back to the where you waifu got shot and reminesce - climb up a lot of stairs with machine gun cameras & special forces guards chasing you - get to the top to a of a tower to and then a Mi-24 HIND D starts blowing stuff up. - rappel down a tower while dodging a said Helicopter trying to murder you. - climb up another long flight of stairs have converstion with an invisible nerd - shoot down the same HIND gunship with rocket launcher. - say badass shit. - get jumped by invisible special forces guys in an elevator - get into another sniper duel with the hot chick while that invisi-nerd simps for her - Try not fall into a pit with molten iron lava stuff - ride an elvator with special forces guys trying to jump me again. - ride an elevator with crows everywhere - shoot this big ass guy with a gatling gun from A10 warthog and supernatural powers. - find out the dude i tried to rescue and had a heart attack was someone else - run past a giant hallway with million machine gun cameras - finally see the big fuck off nuclear armed walking death mobile known as Metal Gear Rex - ease drop on cowboy and the helicopter dude i thought was dead and get caught by them. - drop the key to stopping a nuclear launch in a ditch - have to keep a rat from stealing the key to stopping a nuclear launch - a bunch crazy shit about stealth weapons - long elevator rides when i find out i was injected with a virus by this hot doctor chick im supposed to smash later - thinking i just saved the fucken world it turns out my dumbass activated a nuclear warhead - find out the helicopter dude and boss of this shitshow is my evil twin and its been the same dude who gives my advice on the radio. - fight evil twin in nuclear deathmobile equiped with missles laser beams and machine gunes - blow up a chunk of nuclear deathmobile - turns out i didn't blow it up all the way then my bff who is undead ninja shows up blows up the chunk - my BFF undead ninja dude gets squashed by my evil twin brother in death mobile while saying life changing shit that i live my life by till this day - finally after 1000 attempt, blow up nuclear death machine - get into fist fight with evil twin brother with nuclear bomb on a timer - whuup evil brothers ass to find out the goverment is gonna blow up the place im in. - get past a bunch of special forces guys and steal truck with the gun from rambo on it. - evil twin brother who i have blown in russian gunship, blown up in nuclear death mobile, beaten in a fist fight and fell from like 100 feet starts chasing me - get to the exit crash the car. - as im thinking im about to get shot by evil brother dude has a heart attack im like really why didn't that happen like 20hrs ago fuck. - escape with hot chick whose not as hot a sniper chick but still bangable. - find out my real name is Dave. - 9-year-old me life is changed forever.
You shoot rockets into his robot’s radar He opens the cockpit to shoot at you You shoot rockets into his face He survives and drags you to a hand to hand duel You punch his lights out and he refuses defeat until you throw him off the metal gear And after all that he still chases you all the way through the tunnel, shooting a famas one handed while driving And in the end he dies of foxdie One of the best villains ever
MGS's soundtrack will always be amazing (At least the first 4, don't even mention the rest.) That's what made the games what they are. The games would've still been fun without it but it certainly wouldn't have been the same. MGS always in my heart!

don't care what some may think about me: I state with the utmost confidence and resolve that me and everyone that had the privilege to grow up with the metal gear series and that keep it in a worthy pedestal, we are superior (maybe by privilege alone, but that's besides my point) to the people that did not, either by the bad luck of being born into gen z and/or missing this game, or by knowing of the existence of this series and not utterly idolize it

- finally after 1000 attempt, blow up nuclear death machine
- get into fist fight with evil twin brother with nuclear bomb on a timer
- whuup evil brothers ass to find out the goverment is gonna blow up the place im in.
- get past a bunch of special forces guys and steal truck with the gun from rambo on it.
- evil twin brother who i have blown in russian gunship, blown up in nuclear death mobile, beaten in a fist fight and fell from like 100 feet starts chasing me
- get to the exit crash the car.
- as im thinking im about to get shot by evil brother dude has a heart attack im like really why didn't that happen like 20hrs ago fuck.
- escape with hot chick whose not as hot a sniper chick but still bangable.
- find out my real name is Dave.
- 9-year-old me life is changed forever.

Damn you were a young pup. I was 16 in 1998 and still remember beating this game, and still have the original on it's double disc case. Man I still have memories on the trying to figure out how to open the gate in the hanger, only to find the codec on the back of the case. I agree with you 100%, those were some good times.

When Snake beat up the soldiers though I was happy. My Dad bought the full game for me when I was so young because he knew I would enjoy it. My cousin's boyfriend tried to meme me by saying Pliskin wasn't Snake but I looked at him like he was stupid. Young pups know their Childhood heroes. Sorry if I said alot but damn, to think I'm almost 28 now and MGS was my childhood - it's crazy.

don't care what some may think about me: I state with the utmost confidence and resolve that me and everyone that had the privilege to grow up with the metal gear series and that keep it in a worthy pedestal, we are superior (maybe by privilege alone, but that's besides my point) to the people that did not, either by the bad luck of being born into gen z and/or missing this game, or by knowing of the existence of this series and not utterly idolize it
