Driver rescued after wreck leaves big-rig dangling off Louisville bridge

- A multi-vehicle wreck in Louisville, Kentucky, left a semi-truck hanging over the edge of a bridge, nearly 100 feet above the Ohio River. The truck's driver was trapped in the cab for 40 minutes before being dramatically rescued by brave firefighters. Mark Strassmann has details.

The courage it takes to rescue someone like this, and the presence of mind she had to remain calm is remarkable. I hope she will rest well tonight, and I hope he receives recognition for his bravery. Not just him but his whole team. First responders are awesome.

God is never inept. God can turn our free will decisions towards His good. It is a miracle the truck didn’t plunge off the bridge. Pray for those in critical condition. Do your part.

As a CDL Class A Holder w/ Experience. I Am 99% sure it was The Womans Fault. These New CDL Holders bring their 4 Wheeler habits into the 18 wheeler Area, like TAILGATING and disaster awaits them.

As a cdl holder with experience. I’m need the full story! I avoid accidents daily due to 4 wheelers daily! I drive at night because I’m sick of idiots I have to save hourly! They see us and act like fools! People complain but I love all the cameras on my truck! Try me if you want too!
The truck driver's response to the oncoming car caused her to panic making the accident even worse that it had to be. It is evident that she panicked because an experienced truck driver would have never swerved the truck that way. She's most likely a rookie driver, who probably doesn't belong behind the wheel of a truck to begin with.
@@kelleychilton2524 - the truck driver SHOULD HAVE BEEN in the right lane as seen from the trucks drivecam she was in the left lane.

The nasty remarks directed at the trucker amaze me. Dashcam video released later shows a pickup sideswiping another vehicle before veering into oncoming traffic ie the 18 wheeler and hitting her head on. The collision took out her steering. There was nothing she could do. I am glad she lived to tell the tale and was uninjured.

She obviously panicked and lost control of her truck, which is a cardinal sin in the truck driving world. You're supposed to hit your brakes and hold the truck straight, no turning or swerving.

There were 4 vehicles involved in the accident. The truck driver did NOT cause the accident. She probably hit and went over the side to avoid hitting smaller vehicles.

As a long-time Class-A CDL holder I can confidently declare that her response could have caused this accident to become much worse. It's obvious to me that she is a rookie driver with inadequate training. She panicked and lost control of her truck, plain and simple ... a cardinal sin in the trucking world. She is NOT a hero and she should NOT be hailed as one. She did NOT try to sacrifice herself or any such ridiculous notion. She panicked and lost it. She's lucky to be alive and she's lucky she didn't get someone else killed as a result of her actions.

Wouldn't survive the jump (100 to 200 feet in the air) and the river would just wash her body down stream. Very polluted water with trash in it too.
There is a boat clearance of 73 feet. And she was hanging about ten feet down. So 60 feet I used to jump that all the time as a kid in the quarry. U have no idea what u are talking about. She could of dove head first and lived.
