    Any issues with leaks on those press fittings on the fuel pressure regulator? Getting ready to use the same part. I see speedway offers one now with AN fittings already permanently attached.

      i dont know yet. I have not yet put pressure to the system. The car is going back together now for final assembly and I should be able to give you an answer soon. On the other hand, manufacturers use this style fitting from the factory and they usually do not fail.

    My LS fuel rail has a feed line and a return line. What did you do with your return line?

    • @scantronsgarage
      @scantronsgarage  9 місяців тому +1

      The return line dumps back into the gas tank.

    • @scantronsgarage
      @scantronsgarage  9 місяців тому

      If you have a return on your fuel rail, you can cap it off and use the return off the fuel filter and rout that back to the tank.

      @@scantronsgarage I gotcha. I see so many Corvette style pumps and I'm thinking I'll have 2 returns. But all I need is a standard pump putting out around 80 psi? The return will send unused fuel to the tank.

      @@kevinroberts781 The corvette filter has a regulator for 60PSI built in. 60 PSI is required for our motors. And yes, the excess fuel will return to the tank . You can watch my first start video where I finally use this fuel system and check the fuel pressure if it helps. The good news is, this setup worked out well.

    Hey does it matter where the regulator is located? I have the 255 walbro pump the vette regulator/filter is closer to the engine and isn’t mounted down, return line is factory line on my 86 Monte Carlo ss… my pressure is 70psi and I even changed the regulator out already pressure is still 70 psi trying to see why it’s not working on my setup

    • @scantronsgarage
      @scantronsgarage  3 роки тому

      That’s a good question. I wonder if the fuel filter you are using is bad or there is a clogged line maybe. I don’t know if placement matters

    Why does everyone want to ise AN fittings? They are pretty expensive and do not offer many benefits over other much cheaper solutions. Nylon fuel line is so much cheaper and easier to use.

    Please don’t use those shit filter/regulator’s !! They suck first of all, but second they don’t actually regulate properly outside of a factory application. Third they cause premature pump failure as they are too restrictive. Fourth they leak often at lower pressures (when parked overnight).
    And last they are easy to pipe in wrong and can kill a brand new pump at start up.. oh and they are loud and noisy too. But dig the bud, everything else is right as rain. 😊

      This is good information thank you. I think this is more of a get things up and running system. I just pulled the engine to paint the engine bay. While its out, gonna do a cam and valve spring upgrade. Thanks again.

      for a basic 4.8 LS 2006 engine going into a c10, whats a better filter/regulator? what should i get, to replace this corvette style regulator? (returnless)

    • @jasonhull5712
      @jasonhull5712 6 місяців тому +1

      @@howiepol1655 I would recommend a standard EFI regulator. Aeroquip makes some of the best ones out. However they are pricey. But even the knock off versions are far better than the “corvette regulators. I just punched in fuel pressure regulator on eBay and found them for like 45- up to 130 bucks.
