I've had the 18" version of this saw for 3 years, used it quite a lot & never had this issue, but now that I know about it, if it does happen, I'll know what to do...🖖🏿😎👍🏿
I've never had rhe chain brake give me issues, mine is being a PITA to get started and I was hopeful you could tell me how many turns on your H and L screw turn inwards until they are lightly seated in the carb. Mine is way out of tune and its pissing me off, i cut 3 full grown oak trees that my grandma needed taken care of and i got 3 more to do today and i need help
Just received this saw. Going to fix spring. Spring on one I have is ridiculously stiff. Thanks for taking the time to finish video and hope to see more.
Just bought the 20" from my local Wally World. Thanks for the heads up on the brake. I'll keep that in mind should mine start to show those symptoms. Hopefully they have received enough returns by now to have rectified the issue. Thanks again. 👍
I’ve had to adjust the carb low and high and the idler…. I was wondering if any adjustments could be made on this thing cuz I use it at work … thanks for the video I liked it
Thanks...I didn't cut the spring but I did clean it really good and I fixed it for now...I'll cut the spring later if stalls agains...never would of thought that could of been the issue...mine had a whole lot of build up. Thanks again.
Just did this fix, since the chain on a pawn shop black max loaner. That was only $100 was having trouble spinning. Seems to have made the chain not struggle anymore. Yet the damn thing still gets hot af. Hopefully I can get the job I need done without it crapping out on me.
I only took off about half an inch. I would start with a little less and work your way up if you need to. The good thing is the chain brake is not required for the saw to function. I've owned a few that were older and didn't even have one.
Same here. It was running like a beast for 5 to 6 mins perfect fuel flow and everything and then it started to hesitate when I pulled the trigger and then the chain started to spin and work but all.of a sudden it squeaked and then died
The Brake loop is not Manufactured round and when it gets heated up it is even less round,it stalls the saw, burns up the clutch, and sizzles the chain lube with all that hot clutch an sprockets. Asian Planned destruction of cheap tool

I had that exact problem. Yesterday was the longest I had used it and it would stall out and be a pain to start again. Appreciate the video.
The filter doesn’t stop dust out of the carb. Used about few hours and the carb is gunked up. Defective

I want this saw today but I want to fix spring before I use what can you use to proper cut soring
Spring
A pair of Knipex, mini, hand held bolt cutters is ideal for cutting a "soring." Works great on springs, as well! 😉

Great fix it video. Thanks for making it.
When was the word "problem" completely replaced by "issue." You have problems with this saw, not issues. And thank you for this video.
Awesome, thanks for making this video
How much is "this much" that you cut off the spring?
I have the same question. Don't want to cut too much off and make things worse.

Do you have any problem with the spocket
I tried this method and now the chain break doesn't work the chain spins freely
Thank you!
Informative
Should be blowing your saws out after every use anyway...
Should be, but the ADHD is strong with this one.
Bought the 18” and it crapped out after 5 mins.

Mine still runs ever since the fix. That doesn't mean its always easy to start though.

can you put any s62 18inch chain on that saw
I have no idea, but I'm going to mess around with putting a 20 inch bar on it and see how that works. Maybe I'll have to make a video about it.
