Matt, I just wanna say I've been a fan of tst since the beginning. I love this style of video. I love your narration over the different parts. I understand why you do the one takes, but man I miss this style of video on the channel. Thank you for all the years of FREE content.
This is the video I was waiting for. Out of all the cars there I was most impressed with the mustang. Another 200hp and it would have made up the time it lost in the straights and slayed everyone. I have-watched everyone's video and the one guy that stood out negatively was Rob F. He just complained and complained even though he won his own event. He made his C5 out to be this unicorn track slayer, yet a 270whp mustang foxbody got within a few seconds. No, your car was the most impressive, and your video was the most impressive. Thank you for being there, and thank you for your unsalted take on things.
mbsnyderc, you're not wrong, 2 seconds a lap is a big difference on a lap that short. But the horsepower difference alone is enough to make it extremely impressive anyway. Not to mention the fact that it's a Fox Mustang going up against a C5 Corvette and it's far and away the most reliable car there.
Still got to call it as I see it. Not going to give the guy a pass just because he's a big UA-camr and I need to play nice with everyone so they might like me and send some subs my way. I absolutely railed on him on his whine video. I'd rather be who I am than fake it.
YensR spaghetti said r comps aren't street tire, and e85 isn't pump gas, which are both kind of rules bent rather than broken. E85 was gotten from the pump and r comps are street legal tires, just not the treadwear spaghetti was imagining
I love how Matt's face lights up when Justin Bell is saying the same things about the car, gotta love that feeling of a professional driver telling you that your car is sorted!
Club1n No doubt. This was a pretty extensive build for Matt and much more than he expected or even wanted at first but he sure did it right. All the parts and set up on this car is just about perfect. Having a pro driver like Bell give the car rave reviews makes you a happy Papa.
SforSytosis tommy said in his video the dude is an animal, I guess he was really well organized and ready for everything. This videos shows that forsure
Cammed small block windsors sound SOOOOOOO good. It's good to see a notchback Mustang built to do something other than to go in a straight line. Good job Matt!
I was the lead test driver for @MaximumMotorsports when they were working on this car. After Jack Hidley did the initial setup calculations, I was the first to drive it hard. I requested slight spring, damper, and swaybar changes to make it feel better for the street/canyons/LA roads/ and track. I was really happy the way it turned out at the time. I also recommend a different brake master cylinder. We never tested the car on the track though. It sounds like we/I hit the mark! The goal was if an inexperienced driver drove it it would understeer if driven to hard into a corner to keep them safe, but an experienced driver could easily balance it. Matt, I couldn't be happier with yours and Justin's comments!
One of the best videos on YT to show the potential foxbody mustangs have had since the 80s. Can still hang with modern cars with so many mods available.
Lost a lot of respect for Rob's channel. I thought this was going to be a proper event showcasing the cars. Something like a motortrend "ignition" This edit is WAY better than Rob's and it was his event. Rob's looked like a bad vlog. No straight line event, I know Dahm "tested" or some excuse why it got canceled. No VBOX or at least multiple cams like Matt. Matt's one takes are bettter than robs "edited" video. This was hyped up like it was going to be something special. Should of had Matt edit the whole thing or someone like Damon "DDE" film this, can you imagine if he would have shot this.
m gracing Right? Spaghetti hyped it up like it was gonna be a serious event but in reality it just looked like a group of friends renting out a track and doing some laps. I still enjoyed it and it was dope to see everyone's cars on the track.
100% Still fun to see, just expected a little different. Would have loved to see Track, 1/4, 1/2, autocross(short tight track), figure 8, etc. Some combination of those. Each car has its own areas that are great.
Love this video, Matt. The detailed input from Justin and yourself make this one of the best if not the best video you've put out. I'm far from an expert, or even decent amateur driver, but I think I can see a clear difference between your drive and Justin's drive, and I cant recall another video where I got that feeling (or, maybe I'm just convincing myself that I can tell the difference, but, in any case, amazing video).
I love that demeanor that Justin Bell has, that all racing drivers have really - it's that 'I'm used to concentrating while driving then talking about what the car is doing to engineers and mechanics". It's superbly analytical :)
I love that Mustang Matt. I hope you keep it for a long time and have a great and safe time with it. Love watching all your work, except podcasts. I am not really into them at this point, not saying they are not done well, just not into them. I love the action and information you bring us with your "One Takes" and "One Wakes" . You never know what is going to go down. From a man pilling a log down the road with a chain. To you rolling up on someone in the ditch and so on. Keep up the great work.
This is definitely one of my favorite videos to this point. I'm glad I got to see more of the Fox. You definitely have to feel good about that lap time when every other car had significantly more horsepower.
Superb camera angles in the car Matt. Thank you for having the main screen shot from behind the driver and the small screen the side view of the shifter and steering wheel, that makes for the best video to watch imho. That mustang is the business! Sounds good looks good and has a killer stance with that square setup. Best Smoking Tire video ever! Love how you got the pro driver in your car, that to me shows your own personal confidence in your cars performance to trust handing it over to someone with a major race pedigree for review. Nice work Sir. P.S. please make all your videos on track.
Matt thank you for this video i allmost had second thoughts about watching due to dramma on other channles, i thought i saw enough. I love your version of these events i will not second guess watching your stuff again, real car content allways!!!!!
This is the video of this car I’ve been waiting for. I missed it somehow in looking for updates. Matt, it’s truly awesome and have completely changed my direction with my ‘92 GT. I’m in So. Cal and would love to meet and possibly go for a ride in the canyons just to get an idea of what I can look forward to. Would love to pick your brain. Thanks for doing all you do.
My favorite part is actually having someone else give an opinion on your car, turning the table on you. And you even got a positive review. Mostly. I like this style video
Mr. Farah, your Mustang is a prime example for how much you can achieve by properly setting up and balancing your car. Must be awesome too get such praise from Mr. Bell.
TheSmokingTire check out the hood on my fox. Very similar build but I did some subtle aero mods. Mach 1 chin spoiler, Steeda aero spoiler and had Kaenen custom make a vented cowl hood. Everyone loves it. Let me know what you think and if you have any questions! ua-cam.com/video/EBaJxtvWNsk/v-deo.html
dude only half a second off of a PRO race car driver's time is pretty damn respectable, and the fact that justin was genuinely impressed with it and never once dogged the fact that it was down on power compared to the others speaks a lot about how nice of a package you've put together!
Out of all the performance cars you own you chose the Fox Mustang as your serious track and time attack car. Cheers to you from another Fox body fanatic.
Matt, Justin Bell is a perfect candidate for your western Best Motoring. This makes me think of the segments where they'd have the pro drivers run against the owners of the car to see who's faster. I'd die to see Justin rip on more, regular home built tuner cars. I'd willingly offer up either of my cars to hear his opinion. Tell me what a wet noodle my Mustang chassis is but hey it doesn't blow up after 20 min sessions. Getting the feedback is awesome and it's amusing when owners think they have some incredible machine but it can barely handle a couple laps. Loved the video and capturing Justin's 10/10ths noises is fantastic.
Being the owner of a Fox body I know its always a wild ride no matter what you do to it. Good times in those cars, man brings a grin to my face watching the steering wheel action.
Yesss! I have been waiting for this madness my dude. The car looks and sounds great. You can get more cooling with a Ranger airdam, boxed radiator and shortened 2010 GT500 heat extractor, but you probably know that. Cheers mate! Can't wait for BW my dude!
I remember back when I was watching Davids video, I was constantly wondering how your car did and what Justin thought of it. Its definitely on the more unique and complete side of things, from all the cars out there. So glad to see and hear it did so well! Now, get that +100hp upgrade and put a hurttin' on everything else!
It finished it's laps, catching fire after you win is still a win, it was a fast lap competition, not an endurance one and Matts car needed time to cool down too, if he'd told JB to go back out his might have burst into flames as well but Rob has a more reckless streak to him than Matt does. I like matt AND Robs videos, they are different styles and cover different things but you don't have to be a fan boy of either, just enjoy both.
Love the car. Looks frantic but fun. Like he said, it is a car you have to learn, but if you DO learn it, it's incredibly balanced and will do anything. The other cars looked like he was fighting them. This one looked like he was negotiating with it. Definitely the most well sorted car out there. Watching this challenge has inspired me to improve the brakes on my car. I have Hawk Street 5.0 pads which helped with heat, but the brakes are still a bit lacking in feeling. Just picked up a Master Cylinder brace, and will likely switch to stainless lines and upgraded fluid next.
I love how Matt was just excited about everything. Especially when Bell was saying how well sorted his car was. Or getting a better lap time than a gt3. It was really refreshing to see after all the hate Ferreti was spewing (especially twords Dahm) the whole and how salty he still was after "winning".
Love this car, been waiting on an update! Sounds like my sort of ride, underpowered for it's abilities, means conserving speed through the corners is what it is all about, great fun!
Great stuff, Matt! Very happy to see you get it on track and to see that it performs awesome. Don't "go stupid" with engine mods - enjoy the car before you end up being "that guy" in the pit with his car leaking/ smoking/ broken all the time and wasting his track time & money. ;)
My 91 Canadian made Foxbody had a jasper racing crate 302 with factory accessories(exhaust, intake, throttle body, etc) , would run 12.0 on bfg Supersport tires on no prep track, trapping 120mph.
Hey Pro Driver LeMans winning Justin Bell go out there and cool off my brakes. Now that's baller! Lol congrats on the great showing! Hopefully erases all the challenges you have had with the build!
Matt being a 1980 baby your fox has a place in my heart, they all do. I️ grew up in high school tearing up the town with these. I️ think you need to supercharge it. Something mild. 8-10 psi and it will be perfect.
The Mustang looks and sounds great! I'm surprised at how much noise the cup 2's made; my similar weight and power car with street Super Sports were quiet on the corners.
"Either I lose, in which case I'm down 200 horsepower; or I win, in which case *LOLOLOLOL* "
That evil evil childish laugh!!! I love it!! Any time you hear Matt laugh like that, you know he's having a good time. I loved this video!!
laugh out loud out loud out loud out loud
Matt, I just wanna say I've been a fan of tst since the beginning. I love this style of video. I love your narration over the different parts. I understand why you do the one takes, but man I miss this style of video on the channel. Thank you for all the years of FREE content.
if you really wanna say thank you, go buy your boxers, watches, and ballpowder!
Matt deserves it
Thanks! I wish I could make a lot more videos like this. The math simply isn’t there. But I’m glad you liked this one.
you rock matt!
If your car makes Justin Bell make HNNNNGGGGG noises when he's driving it, you've done well.
I'm not so sure if that was a happy noise or a nervous noise but either way it is still impressive.
im not sure if it was him making that noise. i heard it too tho
Probably him fighting the G forces
This is the video I was waiting for. Out of all the cars there I was most impressed with the mustang. Another 200hp and it would have made up the time it lost in the straights and slayed everyone. One second in a lap time is a lot when the laps are less than 2 minutes. 2 seconds means the car would lap your car in 30 laps.
mbsnyderc, you're not wrong, 2 seconds a lap is a big difference on a lap that short. But the horsepower difference alone is enough to make it extremely impressive anyway. Not to mention the fact that it's a Fox Mustang going up against a C5 Corvette and it's far and away the most reliable car there.
it's rob dude. he's just a bit of a whiner.
Still got to call it as I see it. Not going to give the guy a pass just because he's a big UA-camr and I need to play nice with everyone so they might like me and send some subs my way. I absolutely railed on him on his whine video. I'd rather be who I am than fake it.
I think Matts car was the second most impressive. TommyF had the most impressive imo because he came so close to winning with a totalled car.
"If your car catches on fire, did you really win?" - Matt Farah
Simnett Nutrition yup he won.....fastest time & every one else didn't follow the rules and rob dahm was pure cringe
Sorry I didn't follow the drama - what rules were broken by whom?
"I got smokey brakes" - Matt Farah
YensR spaghetti said r comps aren't street tire, and e85 isn't pump gas, which are both kind of rules bent rather than broken. E85 was gotten from the pump and r comps are street legal tires, just not the treadwear spaghetti was imagining
"Winning is winning"
I love how Matt's face lights up when Justin Bell is saying the same things about the car, gotta love that feeling of a professional driver telling you that your car is sorted!
was thinking the same thing!
Now he knows what it feels like when he tells an average Joe *their* car is done right as well.
Club1n No doubt. This was a pretty extensive build for Matt and much more than he expected or even wanted at first but he sure did it right. All the parts and set up on this car is just about perfect. Having a pro driver like Bell give the car rave reviews makes you a happy Papa.
definitely the highest production quality of anyone in this challenge lmao the difference is staggering.
SforSytosis tommy said in his video the dude is an animal, I guess he was really well organized and ready for everything. This videos shows that forsure
Yes!
David Patterson didn't do a good job then? lol get outta here
Cammed small block windsors sound SOOOOOOO good. It's good to see a notchback Mustang built to do something other than to go in a straight line. Good job Matt!
The good 'ole Foxbody!
CreateYourWorth yup
Love the comments by Justin Bell. Love also that it beat a GT3 time.
Glad your Mustang ended up being praised so much for the handling
Foxes can be great handling cars but everyone goes the drag racing setup so you'd never know it
Most enjoyable video to watch of the event Matt. Much respect
Bell was driving that thang like it was his lol second lap he figure the car out with no problem....Great driver
Your interior fabric is so money. Been waiting for this video. Nicely Done!
Man those seats and door cards are awesome! Nice job on the Fox Matt!
I was the lead test driver for @MaximumMotorsports when they were working on this car. After Jack Hidley did the initial setup calculations, I was the first to drive it hard. Jesus his steering inputs are like when I drive a racing game with a controller. 😂
Matt your car is the only one that makes me miss my 93 LX notch.... Happy for you that it performs so well!
Good lord, those seats are amazing. 1:12
One of the best videos on YT to show the potential foxbody mustangs have had since the 80s. Can still hang with modern cars with so many mods available.
Cracks me up how much Matt loves that car, even 200hp down, he could careless.

Who else misses the old smoking tire intros with the calming music
👍👍👍👍👍 this guy
I love that demeanor that Justin Bell has, that all racing drivers have really - it's that 'I'm used to concentrating while driving then talking about what the car is doing to engineers and mechanics". It's superbly analytical :)
Lol at the moaning sound Bell is making 😂😂😂
It sounds like he's making race car noises...while driving a race car
When you have a song stuck in your head that just won't go.. :')
fucking lol, perfect description.
Joey Lavoie yes lol
Rafael Mejia ya, its taking some effort to drive the shit out of it. Lol
this is one of my favorite videos you've made, Farrah. Thanks for all the content over the years
I love that Mustang Matt. I hope you keep it for a long time and have a great and safe time with it. Love watching all your work, except podcasts. Love the more "raw" style of video, with the fun drone shots and legit pan shots interspersed. Great car, and I hope you win.
This is definitely one of my favorite videos to this point. I'm glad I got to see more of the Fox. You definitely have to feel good about that lap time when every other car had significantly more horsepower.
This was one of the most enjoyable and one of my favorite videos I've seen thus far from this channel. Great job Matt and @thesmokingtire

Super impressed Matt. Would you ever consider aero modifications? Maybe venting the hood as well?
turbomopie the hood is steel and weighs about 50 pounds. I would consider some kind of vented carbon hood if I could find one that wasn’t hideous.
Kye Dohlman That was a sweet Fox you’ve got there!
Ola Justin thanks!
Holy shit I haven’t heard voice over in a while. Love it.
Right on the ragged edge at times!! God, that car looks like FUN!! Great job Matt!!
Waiting the extra week for this video was well worth, best filmer at the event for sure!
Much better than a OneTake. That car looks like it is a handful at full tilt. Bet it is a blast to drive.
Production quality!! That's why we haven't seen this bit yet. Sick Matt.
dude only half a second off of a PRO race car driver's time is pretty damn respectable, and the fact that justin was genuinely impressed with it and never once dogged the fact that it was down on power compared to the others speaks a lot about how nice of a package you've put together!
Excellent matt a pleasure to watch thankyou for the share wish you covered the whole event

Very cool, almost like an old smoking tire clip, glad to see the mustang up and running !
Those Recaro seats are sexy af!!! The whole car was done with great taste! Glad to see your build on the track Matt!!!!
The mustang is sick! It’s been cool watching you slowly get it to this point. And it looks badass
Loving the camera setup for track work Matt! The over the shoulder is more exciting than on the dash.
that's a very easy shot if you have a car with a roll cage, and basically an impossible shot without one.
Great work Matt. A proud moment indeed.
Matt Farah - "BBI Autosports corner balanced the car for me at 255 pounds..."
Jim Carey - "Yaaaa, in your bra!"
Being the owner of a Fox body I know its always a wild ride no matter what you do to it. Good times in those cars, man brings a grin to my face watching the steering wheel action.
Pretty cool Matt! Fantastic to get a guy like Bell to hot lap it and give feedback.
Well done Matt, you've built a very balanced car! The vid turned out awesome as well!
I was waiting for Matt's account of this event. The other guys are just too gimmicky for me.
MC1796 I found David Patterson's video pretty good. Very straight up.
Yeah Patterson's video is pretty good. He shows when Rob's corvette starts to melt.
the only gimmicky people are dahm and rob. tommy doesnt play games and i dont watch dp that much.
Matts video commentary and editing is light years ahead of the rest.
lmao of course. shaddap and expand your horizions.
9:09 You're a legend hahaha
Finally a fox body video! Can't believe it's been 3 years now
This was a great video Matt. Love the one takes, but this was a nice change!
Is that race car driver humming on braking?
Yesss! I have been waiting for this madness my dude. The car looks and sounds great. You can get more cooling with a Ranger airdam, boxed radiator and shortened 2010 GT500 heat extractor, but you probably know that. Cheers mate! Can't wait for BW my dude!
That's awesome Matt! I'm truly happy you're finally enjoying the car after all the crap it's put you through.
Awesome car Matt, youve managed to build a unique mustang that looks like a real blast to drive!
after all theese years u finaly got it
so cool ,good for u matt
I remember back when I was watching Davids video, I was constantly wondering how your car did and what Justin thought of it. Its definitely on the more unique and complete side of things, from all the cars out there. So glad to see and hear it did so well! Now, get that +100hp upgrade and put a hurttin' on everything else!
Matt, great job of taking care of handling and brakes before adding monster HP. Seems like you created a very well sorted car.
Rob Spaghetti got way too much salt in his sauce over this whole event. He comes off so grating in his videos.
You didn't win if your car caught fire.
The_Doctors_Tardis Rob Spaghetti pretty much told Justin Bell to overheat the car stupiditly.
I'd say he won, it doesn't matter if you win by an inch or a mile, winnings winning.
The_Doctors_Tardis well the biggest loser is the rx7 lmao a turbo 3 rotor that can't beat a cammed fox with Bolton parts. all show no go
Sadly true, Gomez. Makes the mustang look economical and reasonable as a Camry while still being faster.
Awesome car Matt !! Fantastic !! Educational watching Justin drive,
Love the car. Looks frantic but fun. Like he said, it is a car you have to learn, but if you DO learn it, it's incredibly balanced and will do anything. The other cars looked like he was fighting them. This one looked like he was negotiating with it.
Definitely the most well sorted car out there.

Boy have I been waiting for something like this!
this was by far the best video of the day. Classy
Wow you got this video up fast! Reminds me of the smoking tire videos from back in the day!
I like the camera positioning where you can see the driver inputs. Try this for one takes??
Matt you have the best footage out of everyone there.
Finally the video about this that I have been waiting for.
Sounds good Matt! Always enjoy the videos
I love how Matt was just excited about everything. Especially when Bell was saying how well sorted his car was. Or getting a better lap time than a gt3. It was really refreshing to see after all the hate Ferreti was spewing (especially twords Dahm) the whole and how salty he still was after "winning".
Matt, really wish you were going to Florida next week for the shootout
Ive been waiting for just this video from you. Matt, you rock.."What a lovely little car!"
Matt, your taste in fox bodies is superb. It's set up exactly as I'd do my own.
Love this car, been waiting on an update! Sounds like my sort of ride, underpowered for it's abilities, means conserving speed through the corners is what it is all about, great fun!
Great vid, Matt! I was waiting for this just like MC1796 said!
It sounds the business, it looks the business, it IS the business. Strong work, Matt!
TommyFyeah sent me, good shit matt
I helped my buddy engine swap a fox body once. What a great car. Loved it
Super interesting! Good job Matt! Nice project!
Your 'Stang is really nicely sorted out. :-) Need to see moar of it.
Great stuff, Matt! Very happy to see you get it on track and to see that it performs awesome. Don't "go stupid" with engine mods - enjoy the car before you end up being "that guy" in the pit with his car leaking/ smoking/ broken all the time and wasting his track time & money. ;)
Justin Bell is really sawing at the wheel. Looks like a handful to drive.
That’s awesome, to get that validation from a pro has to be one of the best feelings EVER!
hey Matt im the same age as your mustang! what a nice car great so see you out using it and enjoying it, cant wait to see more videos with it
My 91 Canadian made Foxbody had a jasper racing crate 302 with factory accessories(exhaust, intake, throttle body, etc) , would run 12.0 on bfg Supersport tires on no prep track, trapping 120mph.
Hey Pro Driver LeMans winning Justin Bell go out there and cool off my brakes. Now that's baller! Lol congrats on the great showing! Hopefully erases all the challenges you have had with the build!
This is probably one of the better videos from the event i wish it hadn't gotten lost in you tube it should have more views then 73k
Matt being a 1980 baby your fox has a place in my heart, they all do. I️ grew up in high school tearing up the town with these. I️ think you need to supercharge it. Something mild. 8-10 psi and it will be perfect.
Listening to Justin hum while driving is awesome. You can hear him like moding the throttle through the pitch.
The Mustang looks and sounds great! I'm surprised at how much noise the cup 2's made; my similar weight and power car with street Super Sports were quiet on the corners.
Good stuff man, wish I could have joined you in the fun!
Ive always had new edge mustangs never liked foxes that much but man your mustang looks like a proper track muscle car. I love the square stance
Love it!!! Still sporting the map light even!!! 🤘🏻
