When people are arguing the NBA GOAT debate, there is always a clash and difference in opinions. Different basketball rules, different teammates and competition, and many other factors make any GOAT equation extremely complicated to solve. It’s hard to compare eras, and it’s hard to compare players that play different positions. So, we decided to go around that problem, and made a list of greatest players - for all five positions in basketball.

John Stockton is #18 all time in career true shooting percentage, only one tenth of one percent behind James Harden.

@@87mchale.71 Jordan couldn't beat the Pistons. The league hated the Pistons. The Pistons figured out how to dominate while Magic and Bird were dying out. The league definitely changed the rules to benefit Jordan. Jordan was making the league mad money and giving them media attention. No super star got as much leverage as Jordan, not even Lebron. The league never pushed another player like Jordan because of how the numbers dropped when he retired. So they learned to never push just one player like that again. Jordan had plenty of leverage and is over pushed. Look at the delusional Jordan fanboys now, that should be a primary example right there.

That point about Magic needing the ball? Keep in mind Nixon was the point guard in 80-83 before the Lakers traded him. During those years, Magic still obtained 2 finals MVPs. Not bad for “someone who needs the ball…” :)

Olajuwon led THE-MOST dominant-threat team ever with the 1994 Houston Rockets man they were downright nasty and scary between Olajuwons domination and their other 4's 3's and insane defense you couldn't figure out when they weren't going to score on a possession or overturn-steal the other team's ball. They were the perfect team surrounded by the most complete center in league history. I would go on to say the dream team if 94/95 Olajuwon was on it would be worse because he was such a complete player, he transcended basketball the way Jordan did, but he was a center, and his team was furiously driven while in the absense of Jordan in those 2 odd years. Those of us who witnessed that time were so confused in that era of viewership because of the big hole of Jordan's disenfranchisement of basketball due to his dad's tragic killing and also this team that had stormed and assaulted the league in that void. The rockets were so ferocious the lock they had on basketball going into the post-season to the championship left no hope for anyone because you knew they were going to suffocate and pillage opponents. This 93-94 94-95 Rockets team for me had to be the best and Olajuwon would have been Bill Russell in championships had he had that team which he threatened to leave the Rockets for because of prior to the 1993 regular season and ended up getting it.

The 5 GOATs and the Mount Rushmore of basketball. Those are the 5 best All Around basketball players of all time, they could do it all and could do everything in a basketball court, can't say that about Kareem, Wilt, Shaq, Hakeem, they all had some flaws. Unlike big men the guys I listed can actually dribble, they can actually create their own shot off the dribble from anywhere and can score from anywhere on the floor. Not to mention that unlike big men their actually clutch and can consistently hit game winners and you could actually go to them in the last seconds of a game since they can actually dribble and create their own shot as opposed to having to waste a bunch of time posting up and then have to have someone else pass them the ball down low and then only be able to score from 1-12 feet. Plus all those guys can also shoot free throws so they aren't a liability if you put the ball in their hands in the last seconds. They are also the most clutch shot makers of all time. Besides Reggie, Dirk and Pierce.

    • @Cameron_Caron
      @Cameron_Caron 2 роки тому

This lineup would also run any big man off the floor and would force any opposing team to have to go small with a small ball lineup in order to match up with their speed, shooting, spacing and driving ability. I think LeBron at center is an even worse/impossible matchup for any big man but I put Magic at center since he's played the position before and also because LeBrons a better perimeter defender. This team would be incredible defensively on the perimeter, they'd all be able to switch anything on defense. I don't know why everyone always does the best player by position thing and adheres to positional basketball, it should just be about picking the 5 best players of all time regardless of position. Today's NBA is position less and the top teams and dynasties like the Warriors and Lebron's teams have opted to go with small ball lineups. It is the future of the NBA and it is the most evolved state of basketball in the modern day. You can put guys like Kobe and MJ at SF because they were big enough to play the position at 6'6 215 pounds. Bird at PF gives you the ultimate stretch 4 and a nightmare matchup for any lineup that tries to put Duncan in there as there PF, Bird can at least guard Duncan and has somewhat of a chance to guard him but Duncan has absolutely no chance in hell of guarding Bird. Bird at PF forces the opposing team to have to go small. In a 7 game series the only way you could even create a lineup that could compete with the one I created is if you created a small ball lineup to match up with them defensively. You could create a small ball lineup that could at least matchup with them defensively and maybe win 1 or 2 games in a 7 game series but that's about it. Maybe something like
      PG: Stephen Curry
      SG: Dwyane Wade
      SF: Kawhi Leonard
      PF: Kevin Durant
      C: Giannis Antetokounmpo
A lineup like that could actually matchup really well defensively and wouldn't get swept at least. But that's about the best you could create to matchup with the team I made. Some lineup like
      PG: Stephen Curry
      SG: Dwyane Wade
      SF: Kevin Durant
      PF: Tim Duncan
      C: Kareem Abdul Jabbar
Would just get destroyed and would be too slow defensively to keep up on the face break, on rotations, screens and pick and rolls.
Another lineup I really like is
      PG: Stephen Curry
      SG: Kobe Bryant
      SF: Michael Jordan
      PF: Magic Johnson
