Don't matter to me, all I know is last night I picked up a Borderless Foil Bloodchief Ascension for $3 and a Foil Etched Grenzo for $1, plus a lot of the precon exclusives for ~$3/ea. On RELEASE DAY. Crazy times... keep cracking, people!!! Thank you!!!
I gotta say, playing with this product in a drafting format was really fun. It is expensive to draft but you get all those playables so it also doesn't feel bad.
Your own....personal....Jes....uh...Tutor! 😅That had me rolling. Great stuff. Many of us are not buying either the Draft or the Set, not because of any boycott, but because we is broke LoL. Yet I still totally appreciate (and I'm sure many others do as well) showcasing the difference in Draft and Set boxes. Some sets (looking at you Baldur's Gate) it really does make a difference in where your money is going. Sometime I don't think people realize you are not just cracking packs and getting cards ya want, but doing some research at the same time. Thanks as always! Keep up the great work!
I had my experiences with Draft and Set boxes. Personally, I think both boxes are equally good based on experience. Unless it comes down to a set like Baldur's Gate where they put TOO MUCH LEGENDARY CARDS in every set booster pack, then draft is mainly the way to go. It really comes down to what you lean on in terms of financial factors or value itself.
I’ve been buying sealed draft of past sets because it’s slightly cheaper on average and been saving them for special occasions to do draft with my brothers like on holidays, plus they may get rid of them one day But I do agree set boxes are usually much better value. I have been trying to do more draft and make more cubes, in my group we just know each others decks too well and they’ve become somewhat homogeneous so I like the the somewhat randomness of draft and cube these days
I'm still trying to make up my mind about if these boxes are worth it. On one hand, you get a bunch of staples for many different decks. The other hand however, this reprint has absolutely drove most prices into the ground. So I'm leaning more towards just buying singles and keeping some packs on the side for shenanigans with friends.
I thought about you yesterday. Had a box of DMR (is that the set code for Dominaria Remastered?) on the shelf and decided that it tanked and was fire saled so it probably won’t recover. So I may as well open it and get some playables I want/need. Now I’ve watched all of yours plus other peoples DMR draft box openings and mine was, by far, the worst DMR, maybe worst box period, I’ve ever opened. I wish I could show you the pic of the spread. I probably got more value in uncommons than I did in rares/mythics. The BEST card I opened was a Worldly Tutor (reg border non foil) and the drop off from there was bad. Was frustrating at first then it just got funny.
@@PackOpeningAddict I got 3 foil rares or mythics. Good news right? Not when it’s Arcades, Absorb, and Gauntlet of Power. My “good hit” pile had two cards in it. 2. Worldly Tutor and Exploration and i out exploration there cause I felt bad.
When it comes to the price difference to crack for fun, I think it comes down to if someone wanted these old border lands and the playable common/uncommon borderless cards. If so, set is probably a bit better than the draft from having a few more rare chances to pull the free spells and the medallions. All I know is the answer is not collector boosters.
I am I favour of this style of opening as I like hearing your opinions of the state of the MTG at the moment As for this set I can only afford a few pack's so you and Wildcat mtg help me very much in what I buy Keep up the great work
Yeah as much as I hate to admit it as the guy who is usually pro draft box, gotta say the set boxes definitely look better. Granted this set doesn't sem to have the issues that I normally have with set boxes. I hate how they normally do those stupid little theme groupings for the commons, and uncommons making it really hard to get certain cards in set boxes. That's honestly usually my main gripe with set packs. The list isn't really a selling point for me because it seems really unlikely to get anything really good out of it.
I think the set may end up being viewed differently depending on why you open it. I don't watch a lot of MtG finance videos, but the thumbnails for the ones youtube thinks I should watch were about single prices crashing (of course). Looking at all of your openings so far though, if you are opening the set to get cards to play, both the draft and set boxes look good.
Yeah, the finance bros are really driving home the negativity currently. For players, opening a box of this gives you staples to add to decks for years. I will say, at the moment it does make sense to buy singles but isn't that always the case?
@@PackOpeningAddict 🤣if it was still 400+ I definitely would have but the price has crashed pretty hard on it where I don't feel bad about keeping it and just building it and jamming every dope dragon I have in it lmao
Honestly I think this was very solid- lots of good cards pulled. Gonna need to see more draft openings before I completely make up my mind. Thanks POA!

I cannot take credit. That's Heroes and Legends thing and Im here for it
Id love to draft this set, it looks like a fun time, good luck p.o.a. mythics upon you
Korvold Swat is S tier. I must have it.
Tbh, I was half expecting Talrand to take flight to go nest with the Aeromoebas and Quincy Harkers. Great opening and excellent commentary, PoA!

Having drafted it now twice. The draft experience was pretty fun. For pack cracking purposes I am really leaning Set boxes despite the $70 price gap.

OUCH! It can be funny to get wrecked but still

Drafting the set is a lot of fun, but i’m not too sure about pricing still.
Thanks for this, haven't seen one opened yet!
Amen on Urza brother!

Agreed!
Pack Opening Addict is the best if you ask me!

I agree that box wasn't the best it had done hits but still it feels like it's lacking something
Collector 🌌
Hard disagree, but each to their own.

@@PackOpeningAddict Yeah buying singles is always going to be cheaper unless you are really lucky, but it's nowhere near as fun lol.
I think the set is looking better atm
dawg poa I pulled a textured ur dragon and a framebreak foil lotus in the box I got today, I'm in shock lmao
OMG! Congrats!!!!!! (Sell Ur Dragon now 😂 )

I just opened a collectors box last night and got ABSOLUTELY DESTROYED. Here's hoping no one does that bad
:/
thanks for making this video
