    Hi Gary, I've been a detectorist for about 30 years. Just recently got into the hobby of gold panning after recovering from two heart attacks. I can honestly say that I have learned more from watching your videos than from anyone else to help me find gold here in my home state of Alabama. Different kind of gold here but your methods seems to work for here as well. Thank you for the videos. Please keep them coming.

    Yup if your not finding any trash, the likely hood of someone else with a MD has worked it already, b/c I don’t believe the old timers or Chinese would thoroughly clean it out. Them people were not environmentally safe back in those days, unlike today’s prospectors. You could've used it in that little creek to see if the gold had retreated to the bottom there. Apparently those detectors are good to 3 metres underwater. What are your thoughts on using a pin pointer? Wouldn't it have been able to find that nugget you had to go down to the stream to pan?

    • @TwoToes
      @TwoToes  5 років тому +3

      I wanted to pan the material anyway to see if there was any black sand and fine gold

    You should do a video on how to skip hot rock with metal detector, that’s my problem. Where I detect that place has a lot of them. If there is a way.

      I will try and remember to show how I deal with them on my next detecting trip.

    I'm thinking like you somebody else has been there with a detector. I haven't seen you go to a spot behind the miners that clean. Unless there just wasn't wasn't that much in there to begin with.

    Hey Gary new subscriber here. I have a garrett ace 300 , i cant find these gold nuggets with my detector correct?

      They run at 8 kHz. I feel you need at least 19 kHz to find small gold nuggets. I preferer around 50 kHz for a vlf gold detector. 8 kHz is designed to find coins and such. It will find gold but it will have to be a large piece.

    hey just a note. with poison ivy, oak, sumac, etc are nasty plants. the good news for us is water. If you can rinse the your body parts and clothes with ordinary water withing a half hour or so the poison sap is neutralized...... In Grass Valley CA. I cut the darn bushes back in the rain. In 30 years I haven't had an out break..... Just a thought, hope it helps someone.
