- U.S. ARMY JUDGE ADVOCATE GENERAL CORPS - THE JUDGE ADVOCATE OFFICER 27A
Established in 1775 by General George Washington, the Army Judge Advocate General's Corps is the oldest law firm in our nation. The Army JAG Corps officers can offer you a breadth of experience that's almost impossible to match in any legal firm.
The JAG Corps is a wide-ranging practice that includes military law and criminal prosecution to international law and legal assistance - both in the U.S. and abroad.
Being a part of the JAG Corps offers the unique opportunity of serving one's country as an Officer in the Army while quickly developing professional skills. This is exactly why JAG Corps Attorneys gain a valuable career edge and an excellent starting point for a career in public service.
ROTC Educational Delay (Ed delay) Program is designed to produce Active Duty (AD) Judge Advocates. Any senior year (MS IV) Cadet may apply for Ed delay to attend law school. Participation in Ed delay to attend law school does not guarantee that the Cadet will be selected for the JAGC. ROTC Cadets apply for the Ed delay program through their ROTC Battalion and Professor of Military Science. The Judge Advocate Recruiting Office point of contact is CPT Vivian Leavens at (703) 693-0957 or at vivian.m.leavens.mil@mail.mil.
