    Hello Jonathan, yet again you hit the nail on the head. We've spent decades and fortunes trying to install our Western ethics, moral values and political systems in countries that didn't want it and fought against it. Ukraine is a democracy, wants to be a part of all our values, doesn't ask for our troops on the ground to fight their battles and only asks us to supply the tools to do the job. NATO spent a fortune in Western Europe to protect us from the Soviet threat over a period of four decades. Nobody complained about the cost to arm , train and maintain those armies. The cold war ended and we all became very, very complacent. We ignored the graffiti plastered on the propaganda billboards of Kremlin media as they 'annexed' new territories. We ignored their assasinations both at home and abroad. We ignored their cyber warfare tactics in both civil and political spheres. We can't afford to ignore the Russian threat any longer.

      Hear hear... from Ontario, Canada... we must demand an end to appeasing RU... and shout from the roof tops that UA must win... RU must be defeated. RU has done nothing good for the world in my lifetime and I'm sick & tired of watching the west do nothing about their BS... it's gloves off time.

      Yeah, it has a lot of interviews that offer new information and unusual insight. I'm not an interview-listening person, and yet I come here at least three times a week, and that's saying something. And I always hear something interesting and motivating. Jonathan is seriously good at conducting interviews, both respectful and knowledgeable. You get used to him and then it's hard to listen to other interviewers 😄

    "it's no longer a democracy when you're forced to do something...". Never a truer word spoken.
    So what has happened in the UK, where we're being threatened with charges and fines on things like cars in cities access, which used to be free...? ULEZ or 15min cities for example. We're being forced. 20mph speed limits...
    New laws are being brought in without us (the public) wanting them.
    Even on Oxford Jonathan, your rights to drive in your home town has been controlled.
    Many good points brought up on various subjects in this discussion.

    Ukraine was great at the time of Kyivan Rus. It was powerful state in Europe with kings, churches and libraries. There is no more Kyivan Rus but Ukraine stands. Ukraine was invaded by Tatar-Mongol horde. There is no more Tatar-Mongol horde but Ukraine stands. Ukraine was independent military state during Cossacks who were considered the best fighters in the world and the most formidable force. Ukraine had the first Constitution in Europe before France and before the USA. Ukraine was invaded by Poland and became a part of Polish Lithuanian Commonwealth. There is no more the Commonwealth but Ukraine stands. Ukraine was invaded by Austrian-Hingarian empire. There is no more Austrian Hungarian empire but Ukraine stands. Ukraine was invaded by Russian empire. There is no more Russian empire but Ukraine stands. Ukraine declared independence in 1919 and its territory was larger than territory of 1991. Ukraine was subjugated by force to be a part of Soviet Union. There is no Soviet Union anymore but Ukraine stands. Ukraine was invaded by nazi Germany. There is no more nazi Germany but Ukraine stands. Ukraine was invaded by Russian Federation. Make a logical continuation: there is no more Russian Federation but Ukraine stands. It will happen. Ukraine had a few revolutions in the XXI century, the most prominent Revolution of Dignity in 2014, Ukrainians spilled their blood for freedom. Ukraine said enough of Russian tyranny, control and corruption. Ukraine wanted to go back to the European family where it always belonged. Ukraine was slowly moving in that direction ever since counting it was in a state of a hybrid war with russia without much help from the West. Ukraine has amazing hard working intelligent innovative people, rich culture and traditions. Ukraine could be the richest country in Europe if not the Russian grip that held Ukraine for so long. In 2021 Ukraines minimal salary was already larger than in Russia. Pootin knew he could not allow that to happen. Ukraine has been through so much and always was fighting for its freedom and independence.

    War has many faces. Money fuels it. Profits are a facter. Target the gems of those beneficiaries to be at the heart of the conflict. Just to destroy the paperwork of ownership of assets disrupts the chain leading to funding war by Russians.
    Everyone loses in a war. Part of our humanity is lost when we choose sides alone to condone death for any reason. God gave us a choice to embrace life or death. Choose life, he advised.
    I went to Laviv last summer. Nice place, great people!
    Our values are different than theirs. I gave a 35 dollar tip to a girl, she cried from this insult. I'm not rich and worked hard for that money.
    At Warsaw airport, a few Ukrainians begged my help. $50.00 had them jumping for joy. They get it that more is better. Teach that in Ukraine.
    It's basic capitalist values vs communist teachings.

    • @I_am_Phil_Lee
      @I_am_Phil_Lee 8 місяців тому

      You misunderstood. Tipping culture is predicated on the understanding that workers are exploited and that those who are in what you regard as lesser employment need that help and that they are inferior for that. So it is an insult to those who enjoy their work in those service roles.

    • @jeromehaymaker5071
      @jeromehaymaker5071 8 місяців тому

      @phillee2814 your idea of tipping culture is a negative thing that includes negative respect for workers.
      I grew up in the belief that good work deserves good pay. You get what you pay for in life. If you give more by tipping or big tipping, it's just gratitude for service rendered by a diligent professional.

    • @I_am_Phil_Lee
      @I_am_Phil_Lee 8 місяців тому

      @@jeromehaymaker5071 But if you believe that good work deserves good pay, you insult them with the implication that they do such a shit job they must surely need your charity to make ends meet. Then when it becomes customary to tip, their employer uses it as a reason to pay them less, so it is corrosive. Tipping, in most cultures, is not standard or is only in small amounts. A regular customer may give a Christmas gift (or some other holiday, according to local custom) for sustained good service throughout the year.

    I am not qualified in anything really. I have self educated and experienced much in my life. I listen to these broadcasts and I am bemused by the lack of understanding as to what is happening/happened on the fields of Ukraine. We have a President/Dictator of Russia acting out his narcissistic desire to be a legendary hero of (his?) people. And he represents a population of traumatized, fearful, subjugated followers that for hundreds of years have carried their pain and suffering with the hope it will all end someday. The emotional immaturity carried within this populace and their leaders is played out daily and supported by ignorance from the west that struggles to realize they are fighting in essence children.

    WOW, so insightful and inspirational.
    How Democracy can be destroyed by manipulation of information served to people. Giving us clearer picture of why richest people is investing their money in social media of any kind. Question is who can we trust with information we were served with ?
