Sounds amazing. The only thing I didn't like is the stage mixing. The baritone voice has different tone register, the gain must be tuned a bit louder than the band. Plus you should never record a live performance upfront near the stage, because phone captures all the low range but not the mid range. (Unless you're filming with a professional camera and microphone ofc.)
They have parted ways but he's still on good terms with his HIM bandmates. He's stated that he's open to do a reunion with HIM in the future however but solo VV is just as good. Besides he's probably one of the only musicians out right now that's allowed to perform songs from his previous band. Not many are allowed to do what he does. So VV's very blessed. What we seeing is a spin off of HIMself.
We all change when we get older but maybe he wanted to try a new style with new band. Everything seems more civilized from his singing style to looks and stage presence. Its a big change for sure and everyone can decide for themselves if its better or worse.

He sounds good. But way too stiff, and statue like. He always used to have a mic with a stand which played some part in the performance. He was sensual, emotional, "playing" with vocal expressions. Now it just seems as if he's just going through the motion. He's lost the spark. Someone mentioned that his stance is like when he was with The Agents. I agree, like he's not on his turf. I doubt it's the age... I mean, bands like Scorpions and REO Speedwagon still do their thing since the '60s... might be his sobriety... I didn't type all this to criticise him or bring him down. He always had a unique voice. However, that magnetic pull that he had... unfortunatelly is gone.
I think he's been just a bit nervous going solo. And he's naturally a bit shy. The drinking was to overcome/hide all that maybe. But I still prefer him sober and a bit shy than having him go through all that stuff he did in the past.
I miss the old days. He had such a 'swagger' about him that's missing now. He still has a great voice, but something's missing. Don't get me wrong, I'm glad he ditched the booze & the cigs for his health, but I think they were a big part of how his voice sounded. It was just sublime. ❤️
Ive seen VV live. Twice but never HIM as a band. I still respect the man because hes a legend but watching him (VV) Now is like watching H.I.M. come out of a retirement home..VV's voice isnt as deep vocally live anymore
It's odd isn't it, because men's singing voices usually deepen with age. Can only assume it's because he's ditched the cigs and doesn't drink like he used to.

Is it true he didn't go on for 2 hours after the doors opened with no warm up band I'm going to see him in London in a few weeks
In Prague there was a support band called Kaelan Milka. Doors were at 7pm, support at 8pm and Ville at 9pm.

He's shy, and most of his older performances he was intoxicated, but he's sober now, and so he might be nervous going out on stage
