As a long-time HIM fan and Ville Valo supporter, It's really nice to see Ville looking healthy and seems like he's in a good place mentally. I've looked up to this dude for a solid 20 years and he's still my idol. Never change Ville.
He looks so healthy and happy! So proud of him.
Love the passion!
@@canonthomasen3219 thanks friend. HIM/Ville has been the soundtrack to my life. Gives me unlimited inspiration daily.
Healthy? Looks like he has aids.
I started listening when bam was obsessed on jackass like 20 some years ago....still love me some Ville ☠️🤘🏼🖤
Always been amazed at how articulate Ville is in a language which isn’t his first - smart guy
Maybe one of his parents are native in english. Have a good day. ☺☺👍
@@miriamcarrasco3273
His dad is finnish, his mother hungarian.
He once said everyone in Finland can speak and understand English in an interview many yrs ago
@@miriamcarrasco3273 no, but most people in Finland speak atleast two languages. I speak 3 myself, it’s the norm outside of non-English speaking countries.
most western Europeans are quite articulate- see Ghost’s Tobias Forge
Ville doesn't smoke anymore?! Holy shit, out of all the bad habits, that's one I didn't expect him to give up. Great job Ville, we are so proud of you!
And his new teeth are great - he looks better than ever ♥
I don't know how Ville could smoke while performing and still hit those notes 🤣🤣🤣
Yeah, he realized he didn’t want to get mouth and throat cancer like so many smokers do.
He has the energy of his late 90s interviews where he was excited for everything that he'll do but in a more mature way
that's what happens when you quit the devil's juice
Seeing Ville doing so well is really great. Can't wait for the new album
He's not the guy I remember though... He's clearly doing better than he has in years.
@@wessley4606 Yes, and I am so happy for him. I think he is settling into his own skin!
@@wessley4606 What do you mean by "not the guy" you remember??? in what way? he seems very happy, very relaxed. I love this Ville Valo - Sober, relaxed, sweet, kind, has a new smile, feels confident and happy
@@HoneyDropsForever By settling into his own skin what do you mean? Hes always belonged here on earth and he is loved and is loveable. I love Ville and i mean that in a genuine way. I care for him
@@HeartagramGirl30 every interview I've seen of him in this new era, he has been getting more relaxed. *BUT* even ones from just a few weeks ago he was *VERY* Uncomfortable, seemingly lacking confidence and also the personality I've always known him to have. Quite playful and joking around, to coming across as quite... For lack of a better word, Pompus. Alas, this was a much better interview and very encouraging for what's to come.
(And please, don't make the same mistake as so many *other* him fans do by thinking you're more of a fan than the people you're speaking with... Because you just don't know, so don't jump to defend the honour of Ville with a closed mind. You can't care without critical thinking.)
HIM has been my favorite band since I was 15. I'm now 33 and I absolutely still love Ville's music. I miss the other band members but I'm glad Ville didn't completely give up music. I can't wait for his new album! 🥳 🥳 🥳
Literally in the same boat 15 to 31 and still going ! 🎉
Im start with 12 and now i have 34, the first Demo album is insane
Same. 33 now and in love since 1999🖤🖤🖤 🤘🖤🖤🖤
same, i'm 33 now, been a fan since 14-15
It's lovely to see how many loyal fans HIM has. ❤️ Where are you guys from? I'm from South Africa
Hearing Valo talking about Moomins really warmed my heart
Ville has always been such a gentleman and he's so well spoken! 🖤Music to my ears! 🖤Also, what I've always appreciated as a fan of his is that even in his darkest days he never gave me second-hand embarrassment (unlike some other rock stars whom I used to admire). I so look forward to seeing him live next year in the UK, and wishing him all the love, joy and success that he deserves 🖤
In his darkest days he was very sad and he almost died :( I love and am proud of who Ville has become and how far he has come in his life and how he overcame alcohol and smoking.
I have a special admiration to people who live in the limelight yet they’re humble and open to talk about their addiction and challenges and Ville is certainly one of them (another super talented and inspiring musician who comes to mind is Tom Chaplin of Keane).
One of my sober heroes. I have been sober myself for almost 8 years! Listening to HIM al throughout!
@@MoahGentle I agree with you :)
@@winstonlanda7731 Happy for you congrats! :)
Ville valo is such a gentleman & a beautiful human & I'm glad he sobered, & still making music! Congrats ville you have come a long way
Jesus, he sounds and looks phenomenal. Full of life and vibrance! Good luck with the new record, Ville!
I could listen to the guy talk all day. Can we get him on a 10h podcast somewhere, please? So many of your "heroes" can be disappointing when you listen to them talk long enough, but Ville only gets more interesting and admirable with every answer.
Can we all agree that he seems more happy, talkative and alive than in April with the Loveletting promo??? Im super excited to see him like this, it warms my heart
Pills. 🤗
@@kiekko673 Can you elaborate on that?
It also could be that he was more nervous in april, since it was the first proper appearance.
I was thinking the same

What you wanna know?
I became a HIM fan instantly after hearing the CD Razorblade Romance and have been a fan since. Ville Valo is such a charismatic person he's not this obnoxious rocker he's intelligent and well spoken and just charming. I am so happy he is continuing to make great music as a solo artist now. I'm also happy for the fact that he is clean staying away from harmful drugs or anything else. I really hope he continues to make more albums in the future. I wish him all the happiness he deserves.
RR is basically a perfect record.
@@mattdad8429 Yeah, it is...
Yes hes so calm I love that.
I love how it's straight in with the Moomins
The songs that’s he’s released so far have been of the genre that belongs to Ville Valo only; Love Metal. And every song is dark, melancholic, and beautiful. I can’t wait to hear the rest of the album and to catch him on tour next year here in the states!
I'm seeing him in Boston !
Cincinnati in April!
Ville is such a beautiful soul. So very happy to see him smiling and speaking from the heart, as always. What an absolute treasure he is. And an incredible creator. So excited to see him here in California next year. Ville forever.
Ville has always been a hero of mine. No music on this planet has moved me as much as his. His voice is enchanting and haunting at the same time.
Really touches my heart seeing Ville is back like that. He and HIM were a big soundtrack of my youth.
Ville Valo always was my man crush. I was 15 when i started to listen to his music and i am 33 now. Still love the music. This guy is fascinating 💛
Just got my tickets to see Ville in Philly in March! Cannot wait! My mom took me all the time as a teen to see HIM and now me and my husband are taking her!
Wow… he seems to have a whole new (dark) light inside him! Getting sober looks amazing on VV. I cannot wait to hear what he’s come up with. I have been a gigantic HIM fan since I was a young teenager.
I'm still in love with this man after 18 years, cannot wait for the new album. It's been too long ♡♡♡
SAME.
It's a real gift to my eyes to see Ville so happy and excited about his music and upcoming tours all over the world. I love HIM and his music with my whole heart, it's my main reason to keep on trying in life. I hope he find happiness, health and success in his life and career
We’ve needed Ville for a long time now. So glad he’s back.
Having already lost a finnish metal legend, Alexi Laio to booze, drugs ad the rock n roll lifestyle, as a die hard HIM fan, I thank all the good in the universe for Ville s recovery, he is one of the last true Rockstars remaining
Wow, what a coincidence that this interview shows up for me after recently listening to HIM again after many years. Great to see Ville again and look forward to the new album
Not coincidence, algorithm 😅
How humble and good human being is Ville by saying that the big difference from HIM/Neon noir is their players skills!!! (I miss Linde sound too) Im so excited to see you in Spain!!! Thanks for the interview!!
I loved Linde and Mige playing in Wicked Game, and also Ville singing. That was the first video I watched of HIM.
Ville kicks fucking ass, I love his music and I am so happy for him trying to make his life and music career better than it used to be cause of all the struggles he used to have and he truly deserves to be happy and be successful in his music career and personal life.
I totally agree with you, Ville hasn't been happy like this in such a long time and i'm so happy and so proud of him. Ville kicks major ass for sure :)
glad he's doing great. i love him so much. freaking legend
Graham you are one of my favourite interviewers, I think this has to be one of the best interviews Ville has ever done, He seems so happy and positive and I'm so glad he is sober and making health a priority, it's so lovely to see. So happy VV with be playing some classic HIM songs in the new tour, So excited. Hope you are feeling much better Graham. Merry Christmas 🖤 x
I agree and nice that you care about Graham, he's such a great interviewer. Pretty sure he had cancer, glad to see he's doing good. Glad to see Ville is no longer smoking. The amount he smoked and drank...alarming.
So excited to see him in Boston! ! My first time seeing VV "live." Worth the 6 hour drive from Montreal. ❤❤
I´m just so glad to see Ville so happy!
Gosh he’s so enchanting. I could listen to him talk about boiling water and it would be magical.
Seriously! Me too!
So wonderful to see Ville again and listen to him. He is such a lovely soul.
HIM has been my favorite band since I was 14, and now I'm 34, so they've been with me most of my life. Their music has gotten me through some of my lowest times. Ville's voice has always been able to calm me and cheer me, so when HIM split up (I was at the London show in 2017), I was absolutely heartbroken. Life felt a little dimmer without new HIM music. But then hearing Ville's three new songs in 2020, during the pandemic, I felt such euphoria and hope, just like I used to. Somehow Ville knew what we needed when we needed it. I love all the singles so far and cannot wait for the album. See you in Budapest next year, Ville!
Him is my favorite band. And any music Ville Valo puts out I always end up loving. I Hope he continues making new music. Excited for the new album
This man ❤ his music saved me when I was younger and he continues to warm my soul.
It makes me so happy to see Ville at peace and he sounds so serene!
HIM has been such a huge part of my life since I was 11 years old - I grew up with Ville's "presence" in my life - not a groupie level, no - but HIM was my safety blanket. I can still recall the butterflies of queuing to buy a magazine with a HIM interview or trying to convince the bus driver on a road trip to play my Razorblade Romance cassette tape :) And in my teenage years this music has kept me sane and looking for a deeper meaning of things.
So pleased we are here 23 years later and I can listen to Ville speak maturely and see how far we've come 💜
Glad that his drinking days are behind him and that he realised he can do much better music and perform much better without getting wasted :) I've seen HIM live in 2006 and then in 2015 and it was such a big difference - in 2015 the energy at the concert was amazing(and it was in a small town!), you could feel Ville was really present and connected on a different level with the audience. Looking forward to have that feeling again next year - booked 3 concerts and hoping to catch him at some summer festivals too! 💜
Ville is thriving and I’m so happy for him 💜 HIM will always have a place in my heart as my favorite band of all time
HIM one of my favorite bands, I'm so happy that VV don't give up on keeping doing more music, he keeps inspiring me in such ways 🖤
"It's a warm hug from a vampire" that's a very accurate description of this interview 🦇🥀Ville looks very comfortable and happy for his new project, and I can't wait to heard it! 🖤❤
It makes me so happy to see he's doing so so well! I am beyond excited to listen to the full length album beginning to end! We can finally get a glimpse of his amazingly beautiful poetic mind first hand ❤️🥰 been a HIM fan since 2000 and still going strong on Villes beautiful creations!
Absolutely. He is and has always been intelligent, kind, articulate, humble and pleasant in addition to being insanely talented. I love everything Ville does. Stay classy Ville. We love you 🖤
Ville is such a treasure, I will always be intrigued by him and his music; I'm so happy that he's doing well. He got me through so much awfulness in my teens and 20s, everything from break-ups to abuse from family. If I could intimately speak to one person regarding their mental health/life journey it would hands down be Ville. I'm not sure if it's true for him but I have to imagine that getting to make an entire album by yourself must feel so amazing. Not having to heavily rely on relaying your thoughts and intentions to other project participants for the vision of your album or each song even probably feels so satisfying. I'm sure the enjoyment that you get from everything synching up with bandmates is its own special feeling but as an introvert, someone that loves a challenge, and often struggles to relay everything that goes on in my mind, I am so enthralled by what Neon Noir is going to be. I also really love that they discussed Moomins! I wonder if they've been to Moomin World and/or Akebono Children's Forest Park.
Super excited for the album as well and so excited to see so many wonderful fans, we are in good company ☺️
Just got my tickets, can't wait, Im kicking myself for not going to the farewell tour, a huge part of my life while making memories have been with HIM in the CD player, listening to his ep's brought me back 2 decades when I was the weird loner romantic listening to him with my girl, painting my nails, now wife and 2 little ones later , never change you beautiful vampire.
What energy! He is back with a bang! And yes, we were all waiting patiently. No one ever forgot you, and you have new generation of fans no doubt! 🥰
Such a magical soul. 20 years fan here and I will keep on supporting VV. Keep us hypnotized Ville ❤🤘
It's nice to see Graham doing so well, so happy he's come through healthy!
Extra nice to see Ville and Graham in the same space again as well. As always, a beautiful sit down! Graham's always got great questions
& Ville's always got the best responses, especially hearing his take on the Pandemic Life. Extra hyped to hear this LP in full, just knowing it was put together
during such a weirdly off time. Hearing Ville talk so lovingly about Linde and Mige too man... right in the feels!
It's lovely to see and hear Ville! ☺️
I'm so happy that he is doing well! I love his voice. ☺️
I hope he will be strong, blessed and so brave forever
Greatest Lovesongs Vol 666 still in my top 10 albums 💚 so many years.... :) so glad he is doing better
Wow, Ville looks fantastic. Healthy, happy, upbeat. Ready to make music and put smiles on faces which hopefully includes his own. One of my all time favorite songwriters of all time and an all around wonderful musician and genuinely kind and awesome person. Can't say enough good things, but welcome back and congrats on the new album. Thanks so much to Loudwire for sharing this conversation with the rest of us.
Saw him live last night. I cried 🥹
What a pleasure to see Ville so happy. A beautiful interview and a good interviewer, giving him the time to speak calmly without any interruption
I'm so happy that ville is looking healthy and happy. He deserves it. He's been down a very long dark road and it's amazing to see that he's happy and healthy again! Loved seeing you live in Nashville! Keeping an eye out for anymore USA tours of you ville valo. Your music has helped me through the darkest days of my life. Thank you for making music
Such a great and talented guy! Been a fan of him since the late 90's and so good to see that he's keeping it together, staying sober and doing music again. All the best of luck to Ville and look really forward for the Tuska 2023 show!!! Would be a blast!
I can’t wait to see Ville next year live. I wonder what would be different between solo and him. He looks so happy and healthy compared to during the “In to the night” days and when he got pneumonia when I saw him live one year. I am happy he is doing well.
Good to see he's doing well
Ville is such a great guy. I wish all the best for his future!
ville looks and sounds great, glad he got himself together. neon noir will be an amazing album based on what i've already heard, day one buyer.
Love seeing and hearing Ville…the most beautiful voice and such a kind man ❤
I found HIM in 2003 when I was 17. I’m so happy to see Ville doing well 💜
I am older than you but I discovered HIM that year as well! I love Ville!
It's great to hear from Ville after all this time. He looks healthy now that he's quit smoking and looks happy. I'm excited for Ville Valo's album. 🦇
I totally used to dress like Ville Valo when I was 17 and felt like an absolute bad ass ha, I remember we painted a heartagram in the middle of my sisters wall. H.I.M were the sound track to my growing up comforting me through the dark/lost times (Or you could say the "Deep Shadows And Brilliant Highlights 🙂"), I supported Vile then and I support him now great to see that he's back!
I only discovered HIM in 2010. I bought the "Razorblade Romance" album and fell in love. I got a heartagram tattoo on my right foot, and nearly got a razorblade tattoo on my left foot... but opted for "The Beginning of the End" (song title from "Greatest Love Songs Vol. 666") instead. I once had a solid white male Betta fish and I named him Ville because he was so "Beautiful" I'd actually sing the song to the fish. My daughter would roll her eyes at her goofy mom. Good Times... Edited for spelling corrections.
😊
I have a heartagram tat on my wrist :) and still love it !
YES! the band never dropped an album after I have discovered them. Now, I can't wait to listen to their new work as a fan😊
Love Metal or Razorblade Romance? GO!
The band broke up,his solo stuff is very similar so you're in for a treat!
@@mattdad8429 Razorblade Romance!
Lovely interview Graham man!
Hope you're feeling better and better!
Can't wait to see VV next year.
Ville is amazing with speaking English so well. He is so humble and modest sometimes. He calls himself simplistic, but I call him a genius. I think he’s one of the best songwriter-singers of the last few decades! To start so young and learn so much as he did, he would have to have a very high musical aptitude! Best of the rest of ‘22, and a super great 2023 to you Ville. See you in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, USA!❤❤❤❤❤❤
Vile Valo has always been fascinating to me. I’m so glad that he continued to create music.
The amount of love and respect I have for this man 🙌🏻
Nice interview. I feel this nostalgia taking over, don't know what to think. Thank you for it anyway. Blessings and the best for Mr. Valo.
I am beaming seeing him smile. He looks absolutely gorgeous and healthy and he sounds so at peace. Thrilled for the new music and tour! Badass 🖤
I see him April in houston ❤ I couldn’t see HIM in 2017 so this is a real dream come true I am so thrilled to hear that he will be playing HIM songs
I like this Ville Valo, according with this time, his age, I can feel we have in the same frequency because growing up, and its weird, its a person a never meet and all that, but we are older, and he sounds sincere and with Joy. Great interview.
So impressed by the motivation to single handedly produce an album with the future in mind regarding what he can bring to the table with other projects. To have been relatively famous and still carry that value-providing mindset is humbly shocking/inspiring.
I love seeing VV back up here and being healthy and loving what he's doing. ♥️ I can't wait for the tour! Love this and great interview! ♥️
Gives me chills when he talks about the setlist... so happy I have a ticket 🥳🖤

Thank you, Graham, for this interview!
This man, like a fine wine, gets only better with age. All the best to you, Ville! We've missed you and are waiting for more new music.
The new teeth look great!
Oh wow, I love HIM and I loved Moomin. Moomin was huge in South Africa during the 90s.
Great interview, been a HIM fan since my 20's...I'm 42 now. Love hearing Ville chat about life and music, and glad to see he's doing well. Awesome guy!
It's so incredibly surreal to see him so happy, so open and talkative, as I am used to how he used to be, a bit shy, deflecting awkwardness with humour, mysterious and cool. But I'm happy for him. He looks all grown up, put together and done with shenanigans, it's like you can't believe this is the same person that used to hang out with Bam Margera drinking and trashing hotels :)) Again, nothing wrong with how he used to be (there's a time for all) It's just nice to see your teen idols get to a good place finally and still loving what they do, as opposed to seeing them dying of an overdose at 27 or still struggling with alcohol at 50. And it's perfect cause that old cool version appealed to us back when we were in high school, and this new version appeals to us now when we're ourselves grown up. P.S.: Congrats to the interviewer, as he asked very nice pertinent and interesting questions.
I don't miss Ville being drunk and depressed, i really don't. I really like this version of Ville now with a new smile :)
Happy to see Ville doing great. Can't wait to see him live with his new stuff mixed with HIM classics.
while i'm not the most familiar with this band, but heard some great songs from HIM, i'm glad that they didn't have a nasty breakup as many bands do. and i'm also glad that he looks like he is doing well
Oh wow, VV looks younger now than he did 20 years ago Great interview, that was awesome, going to check out this new stuff
Neon Noir sounds like 4AD style goodness. 🖤🖤🖤 I never get bored hearing Ville talk. I’m a 1976 Sagittarian too! 🎉
So good to hear from Ville again. It would be cool if he threw in a random song like Love you like I do into the set. Either way, can’t wait for the tour. ♥️
I've been waiting for a new Louwire interview with VV.
You guys always do your research and ask interesting questions which makes for a great interview, especially with sb like Ville. He has a beautiful mind and an even more beautiful way of showing it.

So glad his genius continues. Neon noir is already looking to be a masterpiece - January 13th can’t come fast enough 💖
It's just soft shit.

Razorblade Romance was and still is the greatest Love song album ever written. It changed my life and outlook on art and music. Neon Noir isn't my favorite album, but it's heartwarming to see Ville hit the stage again. I haven't seen HIM since 2006 so I'm hoping to bring my daughter to see Ville with me to commemorate the impact this bloody human had on my life.
This is such a great interview so much detail from Ville Valo.
Amazing interview. Good questions. Can't wait to see Ville on tour
Already got my tickets for next year. I can't wait to see Ville in New Orleans on April 28th. I'll keep supporting this man and his music until I'm dead. 🖖🏻
Start a foundation so you can continue supporting your favorite band after you shuffle from your mortal coil. You're welcome for the brilliant idea. 😁
I aspire to be at the point he’s at in this interview ❤ healed, rested, and unashamed of his music
Im glad to see Ville is doin well. I had always told myself since I got into him being 11-12, now 30 i always told myself I'd get a heartagram on my left wrist & as soon as i could I did just that. Always got heavy inspirations from HIM as a whole.
On a different level, across my two bands I do a similar thing where I take songs that really mattered from one, and play them in the other.... Its so lovely to see an idol of mine doing the same thing too.. Good for you man.. Never forget or disregard your own art. Awesome
Fantastic interview, thank you! If Ville could find a way to get down to New Zealand for the tour I would have the most happiest of hearts
I missed their farewell tour stop in Charlotte back in 2017, so to now be able to see VV coming in May and that there is new music happening thrills me to no end.
Im excited to see VV I will be in Chicago :)
Are you going to the Atlanta Show?
He so brilliant. Everything he does is so well thought out and perfectly planned.
Ville, you are always Gona be a god
There were three things during the pandemic that I have “discovered” or came across, that kept me going. They’ve been Marc Rebillet, Marcus Veltri and Harry Mack. All of whom has their own things, own channels, own magic to put on the table but I see Ville’s new project to be the shining light at the end of the tunnel.
Anyone else from the old H.I.M fans feel like he’s the one leading us out of this miserable being to a better future?
I think so!
This and YES!
Yes! Ville Valo and HIM have definitely helped me get through some difficult times.
Just watched several moments ago and im glad you had Ville Valo on for this interview. I had tears in my eyes at the beginning when you and him were talking about the pandemic, I got excited when Ville said hes sober and im SO SO happy for him its not even funny :)
