Small correction to ur correction. It was just unveiled that Fragments are NOT tradeable with other users (therefore not in ah), it's only tradeable within your own account in REG

For reg server in KMS, yes, even though THEY DON'T HAVE A CAP. For GMS, we have to wait and see what the patch notes have in store for us. I've heard rumors that they intend to release a P2W item in the cash shop that increases the Sol Erda daily cap. Absolutely outrageous.

My immediate thought was "they're probably gonna add a cash shop item that resets the daily limit." Capping the grind in a game that seemingly now is 100% about grinding for everything seems crazy. If somebody wants to max 6th job by not sleeping for a month, just let them do it.

While I agree with your point, and the removal of the cap will only be better as it allows players to make the choice too farm or not. I fundamentally disagree with the statement that, grinding/farming is the key aspect/enjoyment for mmos. It’s honestly just a big thing for MS but not other mmos. Although, grinding does exist in some form in other mmos, there are many MMOs that did better than their competitors because of the removal of “endless grinding”. Personally, grinding for hours in the same map for upgrades is not very appealing to me and I’d argue most players in the mmo community with the exception of ms would agree. Other than that I think your points are solid and I would agree it’s a bad decision on nexon’s part
Thanks for your comment! I would say that other MMOs have a very persistent aspect of grinding, it's just that the "grind' is not as obvious as MapleStory's grinding of mobs. Other MMOs have you "grind" quests, other have you "grind" dailies, but at the end of the day, hours need to be put into the game to progress in these MMOs.

This type of egregious game design should literally be illegal in a game already incredibly addicting they want to ensure you are coming back every day for the rest of your life
lol. IMO, this makes the game feel less addicting. Knowing that I’m capping out for a day’s farming is going to make me feel bored at a certain point because there’s never an incentive to glue yourself to the chair and play for hours on end. :(

i don't mind that they give a cap, but i hate daily's. why couldn't just be weekly? with a cap of 5000-10000? i actually like to just take a day and grind for hours, but i hate to log in every day to complete specific objective. Every. Single. DAY!
Yeah, this being a daily cap is so bad for people who want to play casually but simply can't put in daily effort into the game. Like, if you want to play casually, but can ONLY dedicate time on the weekends, a daily cap means nothing.
No, this would have an effect on reg servers too. There's a streamer Lolisamurai who was intending to grind for 10 hours per day (off totem by the way, so frenzy wasn't really his issue) and he wanted to sell all the sol erda he got so he could make huge profits in the auction house. But he said today that this breaks his plans and he won't be able to sell his sol erda. I'm not sure of the exact details since I don't play reg server, but I'd advise checking out his stream for a more level-headed view of what's going on specifically for reg server. Cheers!
@@MapleBinchyou as well as many others are misinformed. Sol Erda is NOT tradable. Sol Erda FRAGMENTS are tradable and not capped. So your friend can farm them all he wants, although selling them won't be nearly as lucrative due to less demand because of the lack of Sols to use them with.

This is the massive monkey wrench since now reg players have to deal with (1) sol erda energy limitations which are tied to your character (2) having to grind fragments themselves and not being able to sell them.

The reason for the cap is because gms is the greatest. We are statistically the strongest in all maple versions so it make sense they made all these decisions.
Disagree. There are way stronger servers. TMS is usually the first server where they have boss solos for end game bosses because of the crazy features they have and the massive P2W elements that gives huge amounts of damage to their characters. For example, they saw a Kalos and Seren solo in their server when lots of people in GMS were still struggling to do it in a party. (For context, they even have Final Damage familiars, which is ridiculously overpowered, and that’s not even the end of what they have.) The reason they want this cap is so they can monetize us even more than they are currently doing.
Sol erda being farmed on frenzy on reg isn't a valid theory for why nexon did this cap because erda was made untradeable in reg servers for some reason...
For clarification, you can't blame frenzy totem for the sol erda cap because frenzy wouldn't even work in instanced maps. However, I do agree the release of frenzy totem itself has caused a lot of problems in the past.
Yes you can. The frenzy may still work for the caster itself, it just would make the ability to cast others in their maps impossible. But we have yet to see it in the live server so again it’s all my theory so far. M

People should have stopped spending years ago and stuck with it. The spenders doing so in the way they do allow Nexon to do whatever the hell they want to. They need a LONG hit to their profit to wake the hell up , so they start reversing not just the upcoming current bull shit but all the previous bull shit like removing access to best in slot items. Hell they can't even fix the cash shop crashing and people still spend it's pathetic that people mindlessly spend money even if it's disposable income to them. Because things will never change . Whoever has put money into the game since the Unleashed update should be ashamed of themselves. Glad I never spent any money on the game
It's a complicated issue, and if players didn't spend since the Unleashed update, we wouldn't have the game in its current state (which I think it a GREAT state of the game up to this New Age update). There are times where I feel like the game is bad, but still playable and I'm still willing to spend, but other times like this definitely call for a player boycott.
Yea there's a reason i quit and never came despite wanting to. Artificially capping progress is just the LAZIEST and least interesting strategy for playing retention. Thanks again Nexon for saving me from wasting time for yet another year.
I never understood why GMS made changes from KMS at all. It is not your game you are just the host of it, so copy and paste from original game and leave changes alone. Only reason for this is because they are greedy and want money.
Yeah, I WISH at the end of the day this would just be a simple copy and paste of KMS, but I guess it's not that simple. Being a copy of KMS would make instances like this not that big of a deal.

They could have at least waited until after black friday to test the cap. Of course who knows why they'd do this in the first place. For all we know, when they cloned the branch from kms to update the gms version, they grabbed one that had some experimental cap change that didn't make it into release.
GMS reg servers will be dead after frenzy change this for sure. At the very least the spanish mafia will move to arcane maps to bot but with less/no players they will die as well 🤣 Bittersweet.

Easy fix: remove frenzy totem. It’s okay if the people that owns them quits which is probably .05% of them and the rest will keep playing the game cause true addicts. Problem solve
As a newer player I agree with all the criticism but at the same time I never seen so many complaints before a patch even hits a game. People calculating how long it would take if you get the cap daily but ignore that stuff can be improved even just a week or two after the patch. Obviously actual criticism where they can see it helps so that they can make sure it doesn't even release in this state. But regardless, no way is this going to be a thing that is live for a year. Because people who can't play every day could just never finish that shit.

Sol erda being farmed on frenzy on reg isn't a valid theory for why nexon did this cap because erda was made untradeable in reg servers for some reason...

For clarification, you can't blame frenzy totem for the sol erda cap because frenzy wouldn't even work in instanced maps. However, I do agree the release of frenzy totem itself has caused a lot of problems in the past.
Yes you can. The frenzy may still work for the caster itself, it just would make the ability to cast others in their maps impossible. But we have yet to see it in the live server so again it’s all my theory so far. M

People should have stopped spending years ago and stuck with it. The spenders doing so in the way they do allow Nexon to do whatever the hell they want to. They need a LONG hit to their profit to wake the hell up , so they start reversing not just the upcoming current bull shit but all the previous bull shit like removing access to best in slot items. Hell they can't even fix the cash shop crashing and people still spend it's pathetic that people mindlessly spend money even if it's disposable income to them. Because things will never change . Whoever has put money into the game since the Unleashed update should be ashamed of themselves. Glad I never spent any money on the game
It's a complicated issue, and if players didn't spend since the Unleashed update, we wouldn't have the game in its current state (which I think it a GREAT state of the game up to this New Age update). There are times where I feel like the game is bad, but still playable and I'm still willing to spend, but other times like this definitely call for a player boycott.
Yea there's a reason i quit and never came despite wanting to. Artificially capping progress is just the LAZIEST and least interesting strategy for playing retention. Thanks again Nexon for saving me from wasting time for yet another year.

I never understood why GMS made changes from KMS at all. It is not your game you are just the host of it, so copy and paste from original game and leave changes alone. Only reason for this is because they are greedy and want money.
Yeah, I WISH at the end of the day this would just be a simple copy and paste of KMS, but I guess it's not that simple. Being a copy of KMS would make instances like this not that big of a deal.

It's definitely a really unfortunate change from kms, but I think that logic is a bit of a stretch. It's a shame they can't just communicate with us as to why there's the difference. They could have an innocent reason, but unless they say something I'll just assume there will be a new cash shop item that resets the sol erda daily cap.

They could have at least waited until after black friday to test the cap. Of course who knows why they'd do this in the first place. For all we know, when they cloned the branch from kms to update the gms version, they grabbed one that had some experimental cap change that didn't make it into release.

Well, I do think they were doing a good job in the past few months... but yup, they go back to their old ways of making us angry.
As a newer player I agree with all the criticism but at the same time I never seen so many complaints before a patch even hits a game. People calculating how long it would take if you get the cap daily but ignore that stuff can be improved even just a week or two after the patch.
Obviously actual criticism where they can see it helps so that they can make sure it doesn't even release in this state. But regardless, no way is this going to be a thing that is live for a year. Because people who can't play every day could just never finish that shit.
