Thank you! This was helpful. I told myself about a hundred times to be sure to thread it through the cover. I did not thread it through the cover.

Thanks for the video. It could not have been more clear.I got lucky feeding the Spring it took about two seconds. It took longer to take the 4 screws out of the top Then it did the whole job. You're the man.

Awesome brother, thank you so much! Can’t wait to try this out on my mower later on! Buying a $350 mower for only $30 because the pull cord broke, and now I know I can fix it 100%! Hell yeah !

Truthfully, I am not a 10 thumbs kind of guy but am pretty close. I dreaded tackling this job but my local dealer was going to charge near $100 to fix it for me. So I watched you vid, sucked it up and got started. The parts came off easily enough but I was unsure about threading the cord. After watching your vid, I saw exactly how to do it, (great tip btw about using a wrench to hold the tension on the wheel), and had the whole job complete in about 25 minutes. Mower started up immediately and is working fine. Because the rope broke right at the knot in the machine, I just reused the old rope until I can purchase a new one. Thanks for the vid, VERY helpful.

I found this great. I added using a fishing line as a snake line so it was easy to pull the cord through the hole. Just push a piece on monofilament line through the spool and out. Then use a fishing knot and pull it through. Worked great and thanks for your video.

It`s a nice tutorial!!! Can you tell whether TORO cords are special ones, please? Can we use any generic rope or need for a genuine, probably for special diameter or something else, please? And, I can`t realize if we have to re-charge and hold a recoiling spring before assembling or it will be working as it is, please? Thank you

The reel portion on yours is screwed in but mine is riveted. I think I'm going to have to drill them out ad replace them with some lag screws. Otherwise there's no way to completely replace that cord

If you do not put the cord through the outer cover do Not redo it. Simply remove the handle off other end the feed it through way way easier!!!

On the second step, mine are rivets, not screws. I must have an older model.
