The Truth About Prayer... A Native American (Navajo) Perspective

  • Many times we find out there are people that don't know how to pray. They have never felt the need.
When we talk about prayer in the traditional way... we have to go back to the beginning when the Holy People organized Mother Earth.
The language they used was given to the five-fingered being (Humankind).
But people began to pervert it. And the Holy People took it back.
When they took it back, they left the language to a few people. These people promised to use the language for good.
The Holy People said the new communication between them and the five-fingered being would be done through prayer.

Absolutely beautiful. I have been a follower of YESHUA for over 30 years. The most holy and reverential experience I have had was in a SWEAT LODGE With a Cree and Lakota Chief who honored God with so much reverence and humility I began to weep uncontrollably because they showed me what true repentance and reverence is. I owe those men my heart as they showed me how to be in the presence of loving Holiness... All while sitting in the dark in my underwear while the temperature climbed to above 130+° Fahrenheit. Every bit of me that wanted to escape the heat had to pray and surrender to God and trust that his all consuming fire would burn out of me that Wich no longer served him. And that he would preserve my flesh in that incredible heat. It was a miracle as I let go of my selfishness I could withstand the heat more and more until I felt completely free and cleansed. Thank you God for the Indian Elders to teach me your ways.

We all were born knowing how to pray! When we are startled we say "aaah" When we feel relief we say "Ahhh" When we enjoy our food we say "Mmmm" When we are happy we say "haha" When we understand we say "Oh" and when we recognize all that we have, we are supposed to say "thank you" Maybe these first sounds are the ones that the Holy People hear. My intent is that all of these mean thank you. If noticing those moments you are thankful for just a little more than before... That is a good way to say "thank you"... Notice what you have so you do not reach too far for what you may not want. Life is the only real treasure, and life is the only real paycheck...

The TEL LIE VISION PROGRAMMING and music industry hav used these devices to influence the MASSES (people) Singing the songs that have lyrics conjuring spirits and stirring the WICKEDNESS we are now SEEING FOR OURSELVES.
We've all been lied to since the day we entered the Public School System and indoctrinated by THEM THERE. They forced us to learn and repeat their words. They knew all aling the POWERS they contain and have been using them against us.
Focusing on what we watch see and listen to breaks THERE SPELLS! That's what they have been using too. It isn't until we seek the truth we will find it. THE TRUTH IS WHAT BREAKS THEIR CHAINS. THEY HAVE DELIBERATELY SEPERATED US USING RACE RELIGION POLITICS. TOGETHER UNITED WE STAND AND WILL DEFEAT THEM.
EVERYTHING THAT IS HAPPENING AROUND THE WORLD IS INTENTIONAL BY THEM. THEY WANT WIRLD DOMINATION AND THINK THEY WILL ACHIEVE THIS. THEY ARE IN FOR A RUDE AWAKENING.
THEY ARE MOVING FULL SPEED AHEAD WITH THEIR DIABOLICAL AGENDA.
WE ARE ALL GIFTS FROM GOD OUR CREATOR AND TOGETHER WE WILL WEATHER THROUGH THIS STORM.

It's all around you, in the very air you breathe. "Closer to you than breathing, Nearer than hands and feet.". The Word is nigh thee, even in thy heart and in thy mouth that you may do it, SAY, DECLARE IT." " And the WORD was made flesh and dwelt among us." These Principles never die. They are not a one-time thing. Our words also take flesh and dwell among us as our experience. We are responsible for what happens and comes "to be" in our lives. We must be AWAKE TO AND AWARE OF OUR WORDS AND THEIR CONSEQUENCES OR OUTCOMES. "Thoughts ARE things and we do get what we say - for good or evil.". It's a LAW. An ABSOLUTE. CK out Isaiah 55:10,11. BLESSINGS on us all as we learn that these truths can be applied to "what things soever we desire." To the animate as well as to the so-called "inanimate."

Thank you. In this time of confusion and chaos, I am so thankful for this. I wasn’t raised in any faith. My first prayer wasn’t even made of words but I was comforted.
The other day I was caring for people with Alzheimer’s and a lady just walked up to me, put her hands on each side of my face and kissed my forehead. She has sought me out and recognized me each day since. She is unable to communicate with words and is known to resist any physical contact sometimes violently. She is trying really hard to talk as well. It humbled me. I did nothing special that. I know of. Most humbling experiences in this world are not gentle.
Thank you. I needed to hear this today.

The voice of my heart... I don't remember a time in my life where my mind wasn't wishing for people to be kinder and to find things like reasons to smile. We've seen a lot of anger in each other, and a lot of regret. We should be learning from those regrets. It seems people have trouble with self-reflection. We failed to teach our children far too many things, but we have the means to do that now, right in our hands... the very communication tools we created could serve us, if used wisely. That can be created. The alleviation of suffering is always one of the noblest of goals in life. My prayer is always that people will find blessings in their lives, and part of that means receiving love from somewhere.

I had a small medicine pouch made for my mother when she was sick - I was given two, one for her and one for me. They were to give us strength during her sickness. It was not a cure but a way to strengthen our will, give her strength through the sickness and for me to be able to help her through it. She's gone on now, but I still carry these with me. I don't know the contents nor will I open them. I'm hoping these will also help me in my personal prayers against the evil one and bad influences. I have seen different forms of this spirit and have experienced a sense of strength against it. I find my positivity and what little knowledge I know, that it can't affect me unless I let it. El es Dios.

Thank you so much for your explanations and teachings about prayer. To me they coincide perfectly with what Jesus taught about prayer.
For 10 years I lived on the far west side of Gallup - out in Crestview Acres - where the dark nights were so perfectly silent and still. Every autumn I would hear the wonderful sound of Navajo singers and the beat of the drums coming from behind the high ridge back of our property. I knew it was a sacred "Navajo Sing." I would sit on my steps and listen in the spirit of prayer and silently join in, as well. Sometimes I was so moved that tears would flow. It was always a very moving experience for me.

Thank you for your presentations. I recently came upon them in my feed, and I am listening. Thank you for mentioning Christianity-I am a Christian, and I agree with you that The Lord's Prayer and Jesus's prayers in Gethsemane are indeed very powerful. Thank you also for sharing your prayers of thanksgiving for allowing you to see or experience something wonderful in your driving or day to day life. I have marveled at the sunrise, but never thought to offer up prayers of thanks for being allowed to see it! It is written in our tradition that God uses the simple things to confound the wise, and I feel that way in so appreciating the artwork in a sunrise, but never thinking to offer a prayer of thanks for it. So thank you for your words that opened my eyes, and peace be with you. :)

Thank for this reminder. I share these same feelings. I am constantly reminded of my divinity and purpose by the signs the universe provides and it is at that time that I thank God for his presence in my life and for sharing his beauty with me. When we are mindful and pay attention to what is happening around us is when the connection is strongest, there is so much beauty that has been created for us to enjoy, that in and of itself is proof of the creators existence. And when you come to the realization that there are forces in constant communication with us, it has a life altering effect on you as it should. As a humble man I am so small in the bigger picture but to my Father I am infinite if need be. I constantly thanki g him for loving and creating me. Every good boy deserves favor, and in return I offer him my services.

Thanks and blessings to you Sir for sharing your Spiritual beliefs and teachings with all of us who are on this Spiritual Journey to the Great Spirit/Everlasting Father/ Grandfather. Where I live there's a First People's "Mound Builders" State Park that I go to and pray and walk the trails. One day when I was there, if felt a strong urge to bring back some tobacco to offer up in prayer. The feeling was so strong that two days later I came back early in the morning to offer my tobacco to the four directions. It felt so right! The American Native People have a lot to teach us if we will listen! Thanks again for sharing!!
