The plum metaphor has always stuck with me. It's probably the most influential anime moment I've had in my entire life. I'll never forget how that concept has shaped my view of others and myself. And again, wonderful video ♡
This show was one of my deepest formative experiences. When I was 12 - 14 I desperately wanted to become a real world Tohru, I wanted to have that same kind, selfless influence on everyone around me, because I loved seeing how she treated people in the series. This show is what developed some of my best personal traits, and literally changed the course of my life.
I was 12ish too when I felt the same way. Growing up I realized how strong of a person you have to be in order to be like Tohru. She's so inspirational in how she approaches life and relationships.
Fruits basket feels like home. I fell in love with this show when my best friend lived with me at the time and my other best friend was over to see us all the time. I was happy at the time with me life and what I was doing. So with this show count back I feel at peace again
I've actually struggled a bit with the "realness" of my kindness in the past. About the idea that when i help people or do something good that i do it (at least, in part) because it makes me feel good. The idea that "good" is only real with no witness and no reward. And it was actually reassuring to watch this episode and hear the metaphor she uses. I've always been more of a Intentions over Consequences kind of person, but the idea of kindness being something you grow really readjusted how i see myself and reaffirmed what i once knew: You should try to become the person that you want to be and would be proud to be, and no better way than to start to act like it. And thank you for sharing your personal story as well and best of luck to you! And i look forward to enjoying this show moving forward.
YeahI think intentions are definitely important, I guess I just liked the sentiment that if you don't know someone's intention, but they do something good, you should assume the best of them instead of the worst. That whole idea of believing in other people really is something I think could make the world a better place, atleast most of the time. Thanks for listening to my personal story, and ditto that, good luck to you as well! I'm looking forward to it as well :)
And people say you can't learn anything from "cartoons". When people make fun of me for loving anime as much as I do, I remember that most of my life's lessons were learned on the screen. My role model growing up was Tohru Honda, and her kindness inspired me to be a better person. I resonated very deeply with this video essay, and it felt like I was listening to your diary. Thank you for speaking so honestly and vulnerably about your feelings. I thought it was especially heart felt given what Fruits Basket means to so many people, and how we all feel that same tenderness for life when we see kindness take shape.
anime is NOT cartoons, its on another level, people who dont understand that have either not seen it or dont care to pay attention. But unlike tv shows, usually filled with no real good messages, and cartoons, which can be anywhere from just simply entertaining to mindless (typically) anime, which i can only put on the same level as well written novels, send important messages about life, people, power, ect. Anime, this anime in particular, is beyond the common thinker ;)
This... All of this... When I was younger, Fruits Basket really made this particular impression on me. While I struggle with trying to find the good that I do in other's lives (the anxiety and depression certainly make it difficult), I always look forward to see the good in others. And while people have called me naive in doing so, and no matter how much I have been burned in the process, I still do this. I am by no means old, or wise. I'm 28, still just a child to most. But I would much rather have this idea that people are inherently good than to become cynical. And even if I can't see my own plum, I hope to do as much good in the world as I can during what limited time I have on this Earth. I, and many others, can see your plum... And all the good you do.
I love this. Fruits Basket also marked an era for me. I watched in probably 2007 or '08, 10+ years ago. I was a little kid, about to go into my teenage years and things were pretty rough. I watched this with my little brother and it was one of the few things I enjoyed. I'm now in my 20s, facing life changes, career goals, life goals, and just so much pressure to get started on the right foot. Things have somewhat improved from when I was a kid, however some of the big issues that I had then are still there. Rewatching this show has rekindled a sort of comfort and nostalgia that made me realize that things work out. Even when it felt like I could never possibly make it through and that things could never get better, they did. It took a LONG time and things aren't AMAZING but I'm getting there. I love this show for all of the simplistic messages that it gives and its quirky delivery. Its innocence is beautiful and I think it just reminds me of that innocent part that just wants to do good and be good without any strings attached. Fruits Basket definitely marks an era for me.
I found your channel like 20 minutes ago and I absolutely love it. You are so thoughtful and bring a unique perspective! Best of luck with your next phase in life.
watching fruits basket was honestly one of the best decisions i have ever made. it taught me things that not even my closest individuals ever would. it taught me that i have a purpose here, and not just that i'm taking up a space the world has offered. it took me a while to find my "reason for living," but now i think i got it. i would've loved to live for someone else but it's just not me. it might sound kinda vulgar at first, but i'm really not that type of person. it's just who i am. it took me a while of searching and searching for a purpose, but i found it. i'm the most confusing human being alive to me, i'm my own worst enemy, and i'm my biggest fear. that's why i have so many questions about myself. i'm here so i could answer the questions about myself. i don't know me very well, and that's a big reason why. sometimes i can't control my thoughts, and that's terrifying. sometimes i lie to myself without even knowing, and that's brain-rattling. sometimes, i question why i exist. the point is this anime has, without a doubt, an everlasting impact on a person. if someone like me can piece themselves together little by little, then you can too! just keep trying! we'll walk along this tattered path together with heads held up high and confidence in our abilities. i really hope the person reading this can find themselves! good luck in your life journey! :)
Fruits Baskets has quite literally imprinted on my heart. I am generally a very deep thinker, very emotional at times. Tohru has changed my life completely. She is the exact kind of person that I want to be. Sure, I have wanted to be like different characters in movies and stuff before, but none of it has affected me like the way Tohru and Fruits Basket has. It makes me wanna become a better person. It makes be wanna be selfless and kinder. It makes me wanna do things for others. It makes me wanna appreciate what I have in the moment instead of always wanting more. I absolutely love this anime like no other. And I am making steps to changing myself all because of it. I love you Tohru Honda! And I love you Fruits Basket!
Thanks for your perspective on Fruits Basket. I just started watching the new show with my wife, and I began to ask myself whether the new version could possibly live up to the impact the original show had on me, considering it will have to do it without the musical talents of the deceased Ritsuko Okazaki. Looking up her songs to show to my wife opened up a floodgate of emotion for me, since those songs bring back every bittersweet lesson and memory I gained from the show during a difficult time in my life. I learned slightly different lessons than you did, but everything you said is completely valid. Tohru Honda is one of the most genuinely kind characters in anime, yet even she questions her value constantly. What I took out of Fruits Basket was that no matter how bad things get, there is something beautiful in life just around the corner, waiting to be discovered. If we lose someone, and are devastated, there is someone else nearby who has also experienced painful loss, who can help and be helped by us, and who is worthy of being treasured and believed in. Listening to Ritsuko Okazaki's soft, vulnerable singing voice, this all came back at once and hit me with all the painful *and* all the wonderful things that have happened in my life. Perhaps the new series will capture that feeling as well as the original for me. Perhaps it won't. But if it doesn't, I hope the story speaks to someone the same way the original did to me, and I hope they value it the same way I did.
Fruits basket was therapeutic for me It taught me the most important lessons of my life To be kind To be grateful Stop complaining and strive to change myself I don't want to sound cringey But... Fruits Basket kinda saved me. There are a lot of things I have done for which I won't be able to forgive myself. The deeply engraved guilt haunts me, even today. Fruits Basket was a warm hug... A shoulder where I could keep my head and cry A voice that told me... It's okay, Daijobudayo Thank you Fruits Basket Thank you so much
Fruits Basket was one of the first anime I ever watched, and it really helped me with the depression I was experiencing. It's like a comfort food, warm and welcoming.
This is the first of your videos I have ever seen and I absolutely loved it. There are so many shows like this that capture the hearts of an entire generation and the way you put it all into words and through your own experiences was amazing. Glad I found this channel xD.
Thanks man, I'm happy you liked the video. Fruits Basket is historic to that sort of fuzzy idea of Anime I have in my head. I appreciate all the nice words. I'm glad you found me too
Man, I love fruits basket 😭😭 the manga, 2001, and the reboot 😩 this honestly is my ride or die anime, and it never fails to surprise me to see how much it impacts everyone who watches it. So many good lessons, I’m here for any fruits basket vids in the future 🙏🏼🙏🏼
Thank you for this. You really articulated my feelings for episode 3 so well. I was really surprised by the very realistic and very wholesome lessons that this anime actually had to offer... I don't think too many people realize how rewarding it is to think the best of people... and even though the metaphor about the plums on our backs is very simple, I was still struck by how profound it was. I never got to watch the original series so I had no idea what Fruits Basket would be about... and I think I will really like this show. It feels so warm... and kind.
Fruits Basket is the one manga I will forever keep in my book collection. I have all 23 volumes and every single one of them is precious to me. I learned so much and grew into the person I am today because of this silly, funny, and heart-wrenching story that ended almost a decade ago.
This was so beautiful... you seem like a very thoughtful and kind person. I’m sure your mom will be grateful to have you around, too!! thanks for the wonderful video and best of luck!
Gonna one-up the riceball plum metaphor: our good qualities aren't just plums on our back or hidden inside us, I think we're even more than that... we're all stuffed furikake rice balls!!! 😅😂 Not only do we have those unique hidden gems about us, but we also go through life picking up little bits and pieces that stick to us to make us more complex, unique and worldly. Sometimes we hate the things that stick to us - we dont often get to choose all of them and at times they can feel overwhelming and make us feel more chaotic and "messed up" compared to others. But at the end of the day all of those experiences, our 'furikake seasoning', enhances what's already on the inside so we should learn to embrace everything about us.... including all the things in life that stick to us - both good and bad. P.s. Wishing you all the best on your next steps forward! 😊🍙❤
Does that explain why others don't see anything good about us either? And if our qualities are inside us, does that mean that when people noticed the good qualities that they had to eat us (in a metaphorical sense because literally eating someone is kinda kinky).
My first anime I ever watched knowing it was an anime. It’s a fond memory, a special place in my heart and taught younger me a lot about people and their differences/struggles. Will forever love it.
Man, this calls out to me. Just in this one video, pretty much my entire perception of everything I do has changed. It really means a lot to hear those words that I've been looking for for the past couple years. As a random guy on the internet, I thank you. (Also couldn't help but notice that this video was released on my birthday)
This is a bit of an unusual comment from me but the script for this video was really good! It had great flow and was really engaging! I bet that next year will be huge for you, I can't wait!
I really appreciate it man. Your long support is super comforting and confidence building. Happy you liked this one, and I hope it becomes a big year too! I'm going to try harder once this semester ends in a couple weeks.
thank you so much for sharing your own story and life. Wishing you the best of luck. No one talks about the hard parts of life on social media. I also feel very similar to fruits basket. I watched it when I was 11 or so. It really helped me grow as a person.
I adore this video. A beautiful testament to the impact this series has had on you... and has had on so many people. I also loved how you shared your concerns for the future, especially surrounding your transition into adulthood. I think not enough people talk about how scary that transition is... For me, Fruits Basket is a warm reminder of my past. It's not only about the story and characters, but who I was when I first watched it. Only 13 and VERY naive... but so so happy. I really cherish the wonderful memories it's given me and I STILL find so much value in the lessons it's taught me growing up. They are lesson that we sometimes work on learning for a lifetime and things we often need to be reminded. Great video, I'll be subscribing. :)
Thanks for subscribing, I hope what I make in the future will ve enjoyable to you. I'm happy you liked the way I related with the story. It's a classic for a reason I guess. Happy it got a remake
Fruits Basket helped me to realize what kind of person I was. When I first started the anime, I wanted to be exactly like Tohru. She's the person I look up to the most, my idol, and she doesn't even exist. The reason why she is because she has been through so much, yet her positivity never wavered. I wish I could be like her. I haven't even experienced a fourth of what she did and I've already crumbled to pieces. I want to be strong just like she is. Everything she does is with a smile. Always trying to help people any way she can, being so polite and upbeat no matter what happens, not giving in to any type of negativity in her way. If only there was a rewind button, I would have been like her from the beginning. I strive to be a person like Tohru, but that's only a dream in my case. With the person I am right now, it's never going to happen. I've always wanted to have the power to change people, to bring out the best in them. It's amazing how some can do it so effortlessly, but I can't. No matter how hard I try, I'll always be ice-cold and the frost will never melt.
I love your videos dude i cant explain how much your videos bring me so much calm in my life. I love your sincere approach to connecting with your audience and i truly hope you continue your videos.
I was playing this at the background while I looked for ingredients to make breakfast... This was just a random video I clicked on. But then I heard 6:05 onward and ohh suddenly I can relate to your situation. I have experienced similar feelings lately. More success to your channel 😊
Awww... this is such a heartwarming video! I have always loved the lessons in Fruits Basket, and the way you connect it to your current struggles in life is very vulnerable and sweet. I truly hope everything goes well for you, and I definitely agree that the life lessons in anime can help us figure out our own lives. :)
I didn’t grow up watching the anime (I saw it much later) but I did grow up reading it! The entire series is like a metaphorical blanket and some nice soup for your soul and heart. The plum metaphor was soo beautifully done and Tohrus interaction with the other zodiac animals (especially the monkeys) hits me so hard. This series made me who I am. It raised me. I recently reread the series to welcome the revamp and I cried not bc I was sad, but because it’s soo tender and sweet and I was just... simply so happy that this series was in my life. I’m so happy with the past new episodes and I love the liberties the anime is taking with not-so-fleshed out scenes in the manga and turning them into full fledged scenes in the anime! Thank you for making the video! I hope this will make more and more people check out FB with the more people talk about their experiences with it! ☺️
I just learned this show was remade last week and have since watched the whole first season, and honestly this couldn't have come at a better time. Since I had watched the original, a lot happened in my life and I have a much better understanding of the characters and their trauma and this anime continues to be my favorite and imo the best made. I read the manga years ago in high school so I'm excited to see they're following it more closely.
I read the manga along time ago, and I watched the old anime a while back... I recently just re-watched the old anime, and it realized, furuba had so many different meaningful wholesome life lessons... I love furuba!
Haven't started watching the original or the remake of Fruit Baskets, but it's on my list~ I felt unlucky for haven't seen the original back then, since Idk what even was internet lol Ever since the Katawa Shoujo one, I started watching your videos and honestly, you're one of the genuine peoples I ever heard/seen on UA-cam~ I really hope your channel grow more~
Your vids are awesome, and it’s awesome that your responding to comments. Also wanted to say your vids always want to make me cry but always make me want to watch them. Your welcome for the coherent sentences.
I'm happy you like and connect with them so much. I try to respond to as many as I can. Unless a video blows up I can normally keep up at least for the first few days. I'm glad you are still watching and commenting. I appreciate it :)
Thank you for this video. Fruits Basket is my childhood anime, my mother bought the DVD for me and I instantly fell in love with it...This remake is good, except the overly sparkly and big eyes 👀 everyone has....looks unnatural. I also still have the biggest crush on Yuki 💕💕😂
This anime has had such a special place in my heart with all the lessons you can take from it and the beauty of all their relationships. I always wanted to be more like Tohru. I really hope that they adapt the whole story for this reboot rather than just part of it like the original anime.
I've watched the 2001 Fruits Baaket many many times, and now I'm watching the 2019 remake as it comes out. This is one of the most beautifully heartwrenching stories I've ever experienced in my life.
This is the first video I see from you and got an immediate connection of emphatically knowing that Fruits Basket is gonna help you out like it did to me on the past and helping me retake it now. Please keep on watching it. Remember the part in which Shigure told Kyo about not been another way to learn on how to get along with other people, which would avoid other people, one has to interact with them to learn how to get along. Everything will work out, it will be tougher if you try to be someone you are not, but it’s also a good time to learn more about who you are and how would you react to different circumstances.
I guess i'll be adding this show to my weekly watch. Good video,i hope everything works out for you,you definitely deserve it :) Hope for the best, suspect the worst and take what it comes Looking forward to the next video!
I'm surprised I have liked it so much so far, idk if it's your taste, but I think they've done a good job so far. Thanks man, I appreciate that. Hope things work out for you too. I'll brace for bad but be optimistic it that it will go more positively. Thanks! Appreciate your long long long support
I think it's so special that this anime means so much to so many people. Like in a major way, I've heard so many people talk about how this show was a "timestamp" of sorts and how it really affected them. That's such an interesting thing to share with so many people
This video was so personal, and I really loved that because it shows exactly how Fruits Basket has the ability to resonate with everyone in some way, on an deeper level than most other emotionally driven shows.
Thanks for another great video! I hope everything goes well for you. I’m definitely going to check out fruits basket right after I finish watching honey and clover, it seems really interesting.
I'm so happy they're making a remake. I love the original but they've done well with it so for. They're also going to be more accurate to the manga which is awesome. Your video is great this is the first video I've watched of yours. New sub!
This video is the first of yours that I've seen (UA-cam recommended is so fickle) but I absolutely loved this. I'm probably closer to your older cousin in age, so I've recently graduated and gotten an apartment, but this attitude that you have is exactly what you need to move forward and succeed! It's hard to maintain, as most positive attitudes are, but if you keep reminding yourself to breathe and be kind, you can channel your inner Tohru and find everyone's plum!
I remember watching fruits basket when it was first dubbed in the US. It definitely was monumental in my young life and it’s impact is something I’ve taken into my now late 20s. I read the manga after the incomplete anime left me hanging. I’ve cried during every new episode of the remake and I’m sure I’ll continue to. It’s nostalgic, it’s full of lessons, and it really makes all of us want to be better.
This is very sweet and heartfelt, I thoroughly enjoyed it. I appreciate your emotional honesty, good job and good luck moving forward! Umboshi are pretty good btw, though they're a bit of an acquired taste! If you don't like them the first time, wait a few weeks and try again. Sometimes your mouth needs some time to get used to new things, haha.
ive finally been able to watch the entirety of fruits basket after all this time, such a great show, and with that ive finally been able to watch this video i was looking forward to now i realize i didnt need to wait for the full series to understand it, oh well, still a great video
This anime and manga is SO important to me. When I first got into it, it was by pure chance. I had just found out I could watch anime online whenever I wanted, so I chose something new at random. And I clicked on fruits basket. After finishing the anime and wanting more I found the manga in my school and local library so I began reading them. This was a very dark time in my life even though I didn't know it at the time, and I related to the manga so much. I loved how dark and honest it was. I loved the views of the characters and Tohru was my idol. On top of all that the new one came out in 2019 after I had realized how much crap I had been through and when I decided I was ready to begin healing. And Fruits Basket is SUCH a healing anime. The show is filled with good healing memories despite the dark time I was going through when I first started watching/reading the manga. This show and the original manga mean the world to me. I will treasure this anime forever, no words can express how thankful I am that the original anime, the remake and the manga exist
Fruits Basket was one of my favorites and I could not believe it was getting a reboot. Despite seeing the original several times, I actually forgot about the plum and rice ball metaphor. And boy did I see it at a perfect time, I started crying so hard. I saw it when I was struggling to see myself as enough or anything worth loving about myself (still kinda feeling that way tbh). So needless to say, it really hit home, and think it just made it my favorite anime ever.
Just found your channel (saw 5 videos) and I'm really enjoying your style. The way you add your personal thoughts and the pace it has makes it a really nice experience. I'll wait for more of your material :) greetings from Chile PS: When I watched the 1st anime on school the metaphor really clicked on me. I went inmediatly to tell my mom and friends like "HEY HEAR THIS!"
Well, I first thought that I'm going to see a quick interpretation of Fruits Basket, because I'm watching it lately, but this video is way better than expected.
I just finished fruits basket and it leaves me completely changed ❤ it was so hard for me to find my way trought life ! This show made me want to feel loved and cared im done being the one alone and left it’s my time to break my curse and love myself ❤
I first found Fruits Basket in middle school around 2007 or so. I was similarly lucky in the my local library had a selection of manga and that included all 23 volumes of the Furuba. The series has a lot that I think made me the person I am today. But the metaphor with the rice ball and the plum on its back has always been one of my favorites. Of this series and others. It's cheesy, but . . . all too relatable. Sometimes it is difficult to see your good qualities. Or you know them and have a hard time believing you are all that special. In believing in yourself.
Oh man, this is literally the same thing that happened to me. I discovered Furuba through the local library's manga section. The series changed my viewpoint in how I treat others.
Honestly I'm not sure anymore if I found the anime or manga first. Though I admit, looking back, I think it might have been through friends who were reading the manga. So there's that. I actually caved on Friday and bought the first two "Collector's Editions" of the manga. I've had Ultimate volume 1 and regular vol. 3 for YEARS. But it seems the hardback Ultimate print has been out of print for years now. Oh well. Won't make that mistake again. I'll be slowly getting one or two of these each paycheck for a time. To get them all.
Darn. Now you have made me another anime to watch. I know really well that anime you watch and decide to post is high quality work. Now I am in trouble bcs my igcse exams are in 2 days.
The manga is full of gems like the moment discussed in this video. Honestly taught me how to be a better person and later save my life when I went back and read them.
"A Rice ball doesn't belong in a Fruits Basket...." ughhhhh this anime was one of the first shows I watched. so many HAPPY MEMORIES!!!
The plum metaphor has always stuck with me. It's probably the most influential anime moment I've had in my entire life. I'll never forget how that concept has shaped my view of others and myself. And again, wonderful video ♡
It's such a cute a perfect metaphor. I can see it having that big of an effect. Glad you enjoyed :)
Agreed.
Yeah but when Dio said "ZA WARUDO" that really fucking hit me man
yeah

That's awesome to hear. Tohru is a good person to model after
I was 12ish too when I felt the same way. Growing up I realized how strong of a person you have to be in order to be like Tohru. She's so inspirational in how she approaches life and relationships.

I'm looking forward to it as well :)
i like to do things for other people if it makes them happy, because it makes me happy to see other people happy! is that a bad thing? like idk
I see definetly see your plum. Your kind of inspiring tbh.
Thanks man, hope things go well for you
Was kind of shocked and happy when you responded to me (even if you are quite the responsive guy). But same to you.
This comment just brought tears to my eyes
absolutely!
KJK
Same!
And people say you can't learn anything from "cartoons". When people make fun of me for loving anime as much as I do, I remember that most of my life's lessons were learned on the screen. Asia LaPlante it is very dependent on the series tho

I found your channel like 20 minutes ago and I absolutely love it. You are so thoughtful and bring a unique perspective! Best of luck with your next phase in life.
Well what good timing then. Happy you are liking my stuff so far, and thanks for the good luck too. Hope whatever you do goes well too!
Hhhhh I thought I was the only one thinking about these life lessons from fruits basket way more than I should
watching fruits basket was honestly one of the best decisions i have ever made. it taught me things that not even my closest individuals ever would. it taught me that i have a purpose here, and not just that i'm taking up a space the world has offered. it took me a while to find my "reason for living," but now i think i got it. i would've loved to live for someone else but it's just not me. it might sound kinda vulgar at first, but i'm really not that type of person. it's just who i am. it took me a while of searching and searching for a purpose, but i found it. i'm the most confusing human being alive to me, i'm my own worst enemy, and i'm my biggest fear. that's why i have so many questions about myself. i'm here so i could answer the questions about myself. i don't know me very well, and that's a big reason why. sometimes i can't control my thoughts, and that's terrifying. sometimes i lie to myself without even knowing, and that's brain-rattling. sometimes, i question why i exist.
the point is this anime has, without a doubt, an everlasting impact on a person. if someone like me can piece themselves together little by little, then you can too! just keep trying! we'll walk along this tattered path together with heads held up high and confidence in our abilities.
i really hope the person reading this can find themselves! good luck in your life journey! :)
God this anime is life changing it has so much meaning even with smallest things great video man
Thanks man, I appreciate it. It's really crazy how many tidbits of wisdom it fits in between nude men and animals
Fruits basket was therapeutic for me
It taught me the most important lessons of my life
To be kind
To be grateful
Stop complaining and strive to change myself
I don't want to sound cringey
But...
Fruits Basket kinda saved me.
There are a lot of things I have done for which I won't be able to forgive myself. The deeply engraved guilt haunts me, even today.
Fruits Basket was a warm hug... A shoulder where I could keep my head and cry
A voice that told me... It's okay, Daijobudayo
Thank you Fruits Basket
Thank you so much
Fruits Basket was one of the first anime I ever watched, and it really helped me with the depression I was experiencing.
I'm glad you found me too
your plums can reach through the screen, keep going we all are here and can see your goodness
This made me get strangely emotional last night at 4am in my bathroom. Thank you
Momiji’s story of the stupid traveler, tohru’s plum metaphor, and many more. Damn anime is very good
tons of great stuff
I just love fruits basket brotherhood
This was so beautiful... you seem like a very thoughtful and kind person. I’m sure your mom will be grateful to have you around, too!! thanks for the wonderful video and best of luck!
I'm happy you liked it. It's definitely going to be a difficult transition, good luck to you as well in whatever you do
Gonna one-up the riceball plum metaphor: our good qualities aren't just plums on our back or hidden inside us, I think we're even more than that... we're all stuffed furikake rice balls!!! 😅😂
Not only do we have those unique hidden gems about us, but we also go through life picking up little bits and pieces that stick to us to make us more complex, unique and worldly.
It’s so interesting how one of these shows can make us wanna do more with ourselves
This video put a big smile on my face. Great work! I'll probably come back to watch this frequently.
It's amazing how some can do it so effortlessly,
but I can't.
No matter how hard I try,
I'll always be ice-cold and the frost will never melt.
just the fact that you want to be like this means that is who you are deep down!! i believe in you- you can do it!! please dont give up on yourself💖
I love your videos dude i cant explain how much your videos bring me so much calm in my life. I love your sincere approach to connecting with your audience and i truly hope you continue your videos.
Thanks man I appreciate it, I definitely plan to continue as long as I feasibly can.
I love seeing your progression Hiding, it gives me hope in my development as a person
Thanks, I'm glad it's trackable through my videos. I'm sure your potential is great for any change you want to make
I didn’t grow up watching the anime (I saw it much later) but I did grow up reading it! ☺️
The story shattered me emotionally.
This is the most beautiful commentary i have ever heard.
I read the manga along time ago, and I watched the old anime a while back... I recently just re-watched the old anime, and it realized, furuba had so many different meaningful wholesome life lessons... I love furuba!
Haven't started watching the original or the remake of Fruit Baskets, but it's on my list~ I felt unlucky for haven't seen the original back then, since Idk what even was internet lol
Ever since the Katawa Shoujo one, I started watching your videos and honestly, you're one of the genuine peoples I ever heard/seen on UA-cam~
I really hope your channel grow more~
i found your channel as of recently, i adore your content
Thank you, big appreciate you. Thanks for the nice comment :)
Hello “BakaStryx”
You are so cute!!!!
Honestly I remember watching the first series for the first time and the manga. Still sticks with me. Thank's for making this video.
It's really an icon. Glad the series still sticks with you, and thanks for continuing to watch and comment :)
pressure cooker lmaooo thats just a rice pot
Official Nick-Elliot Art Yeah. Lol. That’s just a rice cooker
It's nice to have these videos from time to time
I'm glad you think so
I totes hearing the background music from Oregairu, keep making good work man!
thanks man, what can I say it's a good ost
Great video! This really connected with me, thanks for making this ❤️
I'm glad it could. Thanks for watching and commenting
I wasn't even born when fruit basket was made but I love this anime.
i forgot about the riceball metaphor. i needed to hear that today!!
Good video,i hope everything works out for you,you definitely deserve it :)
Hope for the best, suspect the worst and take what it comes
Looking forward to the next video!
I feel like i could sit for a few hours with you just listening to you talk about stuff
glad to hear it
I think it's so special that this anime means so much to so many people. Like in a major way, I've heard so many people talk about how this show was a "timestamp" of sorts and how it really affected them. That's such an interesting thing to share with so many people
Ugh right in the feels 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢
This video was so personal, and I really loved that because it shows exactly how Fruits Basket has the ability to resonate with everyone in some way, on an deeper level than most other emotionally driven shows.
Thanks for another great video! I hope everything goes well for you.
I’m definitely going to check out fruits basket right after I finish watching honey and clover, it seems really interesting.
Thank you for watching! I hope it goes well for you too.
I still need to see honey and clover. Since I love sangatsu i'm sure i'll love it.
It’s been good so far, has some great emotional moments but unfortunately often dips in quality unlike sangastu
You're very inspiring, and tbh honest you've been my favorite channel for a while. Keep up the great work and good luck with your situation.
I'm so happy they're making a remake. I love the original but they've done well with it so for. They're also going to be more accurate to the manga which is awesome. Your video is great this is the first video I've watched of yours. New sub!
Your videos make me smile, thank you
Thank you. I'm happy they can
How are you this amazingly genuine so consistently
Gosh it's incredible
Thank you, I'm glad you think so
This video is the first of yours that I've seen (UA-cam recommended is so fickle) but I absolutely loved this.
Ghibli movies also help a lot in maintaining this emotion lol!
I think this is my favorite video. Let it be known that I subscribed because of this.
I really enjoyed this show. I was surprised how deeply it was impressed itself on me.
Insightful breakdown
💕 your story is motivational , I’m more confident now thank you 🍓
Thank you! Happy you enjoyed it
S2
Your videos are a certain place for self insight. At least for me.
Thank you for making your videos.
This was amazing... the way you expressed your words really inspired and put an impact on me
Thanks man, I hope the feeling does good for you. Best luck in whatever you do
ive finally been able to watch the entirety of fruits basket after all this time, such a great show, and with that ive finally been able to watch this video i was looking forward to
now i realize i didnt need to wait for the full series to understand it, oh well, still a great video
nice analysis, this is by far my favorite anime..i really reaaalllyy hope the reboot is good
I’m also hoping the English dub voice actors come back
I think they brought back many of the dub cast! Tohru is getting the same actress in returning role! I like the reboot so far.
Hiding in Public yayyy
Who else can't move on from this anime right now? 😢🙋♀️
Love this anime so much, it’s one of my favorites. :3 💜 great commentary
You got the momentum right now, things are only going up from here! btw good job on this one HIP
Thanks man, I appreciate that. Happy you liked the video, hopefully the path grows exponentially.
This was a great video ❤️❤️❤️❤️
My ears perked up when I heard keroro gunsou being mentioned. It's not every day you hear another person talk about such a classic like that
Man your videos are so good, love the messages you bring across with them.
Thanks man, happy you like them
I can really relate the plum metaphor and I couldn't have phrase it better so thank you.
Thank you, gkad you found it helpful :)

I've heard some great things about it. I plan to check it out.

Great video dude, wish you the best for this next part of your life. Keep up the great work
Thank you, I appreciate it. Best wishes to you too.
this hit me in the face, thank you
Hooe something about it helps
Just found your channel (saw 5 videos) and I'm really enjoying your style. The way you add your personal thoughts and the pace it has makes it a really nice experience. I'll wait for more of your material :) greetings from Chile
PS: When I watched the 1st anime on school the metaphor really clicked on me. I went inmediatly to tell my mom and friends like "HEY HEAR THIS!"
I'm glad you are liking my stuff so far. I hope to continue also making things you like. Hope things are well in Chile
yo i just got this video recommended and im damn glad
I'm glad too. Thanks for watching
Well, I first thought that I'm going to see a quick interpretation of Fruits Basket, because I'm watching it lately, but this video is way better than expected.
I'm glad I could exceed your expectations.
Now I am in trouble bcs my igcse exams are in 2 days.
haha sorry, idk maybe you could wait and binge a couple more episodes?
I'm glad that you are seeing the good in not good situations, I can't wait to see what you do next! Stay cool
Thanks, i'll try!
I can relate to this so much
I'm glad. Hope you are doing well
The manga is full of gems like the moment discussed in this video. Honestly taught me how to be a better person and later save my life when I went back and read them.
Good luck with the months ahead in your life
