I want to clarify a couple things since I've seen a few comments about them. 1) I mixed up saying setter and server at one segment of the video. It doesn't change the point I was making but I did mix those terms up. 2) I said Daichi is the best reciever early on in the show. I was talking about before Nishinoya joins back but I could have made that more clear than I did, because it comes off to some people like I was saying Daichi is a better reciever than Nishinoya. That wasn't what I was intending. Hopefully these don't obscure your focus for the overall message of the video, and I hope you all have a good new year!
Daichi has shown over and over again that he has great defensive prowess and definitely carries out his role as captain very well! He is definitely the backbone of Karasuno 🔥💯
I love your voice. You, Super Eyepatch Wolf, and Gigguk. Idk, I just love your rythm, your pauses, your tonality changes, etc. How'd you get so good at speaking when you're such an introvert??? I'd love to be able to speak with my own voice, from my heart, with passion, like you.
The characters really are well grounded and well written. Even the old guy cheering for them in their plays, Akiteru, Saeko and especially Kiyoko in Season 3-4.
his one episode was so powerful to me, because he made such a huge mental breakthrough. but even after he successfully lead the team to victory he was still beating himself up as if he was still a dead weight, even though his skills are pretty well rounded. sorry for rambling and thought dumping lol
Nishinoya is the best receiver, yes, but I think that Daichi almost always takes the "strongest" balls. Oikawa's especially, it's always Daichi who receives those heavy ass powerful balls which probably hurt A LOT
I love Ennoshita's character so much, he provides a lot of insight on Karasuno as a team, especially in the Nationals arc, and he understands the players on the team extremely well. Also, I've never seen such a good description of Suga's role in the team and his motives
The latest chapter in the manga brings up this scene with all the third years hugging in disbelief. That's just how amazing it was, and how impactful that moment was to those characters.
10:15 I love the imagery used in this scene with Tanaka looking out the window and seeing 6 crows flying to the sky because: - Karasuno are known as the CROWS - There are SIX players on a court at once
I'm so happy to have seen this video, really. I was somewhat depressed thinking that I had joined the Haikyuu train too late, that I could no longer share my excitement with others in the same capacity. But then, content like this still exists and really sparks some conversation. I can already foresee a future knee-deep in fan art and analysis videos for myself, but thanks for that extra push :-)
I'm glad you feel welcomed and enjoyed. I myself hadn't binged haikyuu until roughly 3 or so months ago so I joined late too. I love the series and love talking about it, that's the only reason you ever need to be in on it. :)
The fandom was a bit stagnant, since we hadn't got any anime news in 3 years, but I'm so glad people still love the amazing series Furudate has created, really!
I just relised, tanaka is the only person in the team who has played every game fully. He was the only person in the starting line up that hasn’t been swapped out or incredibly injured
I teared up watching the video. Once again I'm reminded of why Haikyuu!! is so good. It just finds ways to resonate with its audience, and without fail always makes you feel a rush of positivity and hope whenever you watch/read the story. Loved the video. Happy 2020!! Can't wait for Season 4 :)
I KNOW ITS NOT GONNA BE THE SAME i can picture a bittersweet moment of the show where it cuts to the (now graduated) third years all gathering together in the stands and being like “long time no see! *trying not to cry* how have you all been?” and then UGHHRHF ITS SO- BRB CRYING IN THE CLUB
Just the thumbnail for this video gave me so many feelings. I will say, I think the anime downplayed how hard it was for Asahi, Daichi, and Suga to even get to where they were as third years and what the team was like when they were underclassmen. Another word for what you describe as "morale" that comes to mind when I think of Karasuno is "tenacity." They don't know how to let things go. Even Asahi longs to play volleyball after he kicks himself off the team, and you're right that he's basically removed himself from the team as more of a punishment than lack of interest. Even Tsukishima, who felt betrayed by volleyball, joined the team of his own will. Yamaguchi wasn't chosen as a starter, but he found a niche for himself so he could be part of the story. That's why they'll always be my favorite team in Haikyuu.
@fractured eyes i like the timeskip, if it kept on going into the second year it could have gotten too samey and winning the nationals first try would have lot the impact of how hard nationals are
This will probably be the video I'll let people watch when they ask why I love Haikyuu. I love all your videos but I think my favourites of yours are about Haikyuu, I honestly cried a little bit because you always put the meaning in words so well. I can't wait for the coming week!!
Awesome well I hope the video does well to show them. Happy I can make something so meaningful to you. I love Haikyuu and am happy to get it across. I'll do my best!
Honestly seeing this video has only made me even more hyped for Season 4 this week. Can't wait to finally see all of our boys make their return to Nationals
I liked the video a lot. A few of my thoughts on each of the three third-years: I think what's good about Daichi is that, while strict and intense, he is never negative. He might yell at his teammates but it's never mocking or judgemental. Suga is more hands-on than Daichi. He takes the time to know everyone and even tease them, to build rapport and so he has a hand on his teammates' pulses. Asahi is overlooked I think, he's more of a lead by example type of leadership. I think he takes a lot of responsibility for his improvement, which helps shape the culture at Karasuno. Beyond that, he was an important bridge between Tsuki and the team, able to connect with him when even Sugawara couldn't. I think he's a great example of someone who recognizes that Karasuno needs a follower more than they do a third leader - and through that he helps reinforce Daichi's leadership.
this might sound really weird, but listening to this at night without looking at the screen makes me feel so much better about myself. just the way he talks about how just because you messed up, doesn’t mean it’s over; there’s always a second chance. i’m literally crying as i type this :’)
Just getting to this video now. Your analysis on moral is exactly what sports have always been at it’s core in my eyes. My track coach always told me, the person who wins is the person who wants it the most. Which parallels your comments in this video. Great work!
I love how every aspect of Haikyuu is taken and delved into and turned into a life lesson, makes Haikyuu that much more relatable and same goes for the characters, even if we don't even play volleyball or sports in general.
As a manga reader the team that is karasuno get developed so well throughout its chapters, giving everyone a reason for belonging, even 2nd years like Narita, kinoshita and ennoshita have huge relevance to the team. It's hard to hate the players and this is something I hope the new season nails, some scenes really do capture the emotions behind the characters and what the game means to them.
I love this channel. I always thought that Haikyuu to others was just a simple other anime but I really enjoy myself on this channel because it helps me to feel better to have someone talk about the deeper meaning of Haikyuu. Thank you Hiding in Public.
Maybe it’s off topic but something that I learned about this show is that know one is perfect, even Kageyama. People call him great and perfect but Kageyama also has mistakes when he’s setting, like if he put the ball too high or too low and then the team doesn’t get the point. But this is what friendship and teamwork is about, it’s not about being perfect and only getting into a team just to play, but it’s about learning and understanding and be equal among them.
Bro, I love LOVE LOVE your videos! Suguwara is the secondary "setter" though, not server. Regardless, I LOVE your analysis. I've been playing volleyball for a couple years now all because of Haikyuu. Keep up the good work and please, please keep posting!
Yeah that was a mess up on my part. The terminology somehow slipped by. Glad you like the videos, I don't want to stop posting and am sure this won't be my last haikyuu video :)
Another great video! Suga is the mama bear to Daichi’s daddy. All these characters are crucial to the show for each other’s mental development. Asahi is such a teddy bear & not egotistical hence why he doesn’t react negatively to Hinata’s pushy ambitions on being the next Ace.
Thank you for this inspirational video (happy that it's Haikyuu bound), I definitely needed to hear this. ~ developing a positive mindset is the goal for this year. Happy 2020! 🎉
I saw on Reddit around December that a new season was coming but I was a little skeptical and it didn’t seemed that appealing to me but oh man i was hooked from episode 2 and binged the entire series in a week it became one of the anime that I enjoye the most, some of the greatest character development, hype for season 4. Nice vid!
Wow those 12 minutes of watching this video went by so fast. The lessons learned in Haikyuu are great, but you convey it in such a way that takes it to a new level of profoundness and meaning. Haikyuu is one of my favorite sports anime (along with Run with the Wind). Can't wait for Season 4!
I'm glad they flew by, I packed a lot into it and took more time preparing for this video than usual. I don't want my videos to overstay their welcome if possible. Happy you enjoy and feel like I can add something to the meaning there. Thanks for all your comments as well
In this interesting state of youtube where longer vids get more attention, I always appreciate brevity when possible. Of course I welcome longer vids as long as it's good content.
The teamwork and the relationships between all the characters is gem that is Haikyuu!! I really hate using the word 'nice' to describe things especially when I'm really passionate about something but the whole show and manga is just... nice. It feels like a big, warm and reassuring hug. And even though we may only get glimpses of other teams and how they interact with each other, those snippets are full of wonderful details about their friendships.
I know what you're getting at. it's not nice like okay, or nice like alright/simple, but the feeling the show guves is sort of an overwhelming pleasant feeling. It's nice. I think that's what you mean, if you do then I relate
It's great to see another Haikyuu!! video from you! I'm glad you talked about Ennoshita as well as the others because he doesn't get enough appreciation and he's a great character too even if he doesn't have much focus on him throughout most of the show. I love how everyone in Karasuno has their own strengths and they all serve the team in different ways. I'm super excited for season four, I can't wait to see what happens next! Also, happy new year! I hope you have a good one! :D
I love this video to death and it’s helped me flesh out Asahi a bit more, I didn’t realize how much meaning he had whoops but I’m going to be honest I couldn’t help but laugh when you said, “I hope you all have a great 2020” it’s just terribly ironic
Another great Haikyuu!! video. Love to see you enjoying this show so much! This just makes me even more excited for the new season!!! Happy New Year man!
I really enjoy your video essays on haikyuu, i feel like you capture the messages projected by the character very well Everyone on the karasuno team has an important role to play. It may seem trivial to us, but it's essential. Well, besides narita and kinoshita😅
i dont know how you can make such a interesting video thats fun to watch even tho i have never watched haikyuu i dont really watch sports anime but i liked your last video on this show as well so might have to try and watch haikyuu at some point
I am the opposite of a 'sports person' but I love Haikyuu. I'm sure there'd be somethibg you could enjoy. Also thanks, glad that the video was engaging despite being about something you haven't watched
haha thanks. The ending piano before my outro is from Catherine: Full Body as well. It's another game ATLUS publishes aside from persona. I really like the stuff they put out
At 9:00 I’m glad I watch your mob video as it gave me an insight into you as a creator if this was a random video I watched I would have said it was good but too forced of your own point of view but having that background information made it a great video as your personality shone through
Which Mob video? And sorry if you felt it was kind of forced, I really wasn't forcing anything just sharing my thoughts and things I love about Haikyuu. Thanks for continuing to watch my stuff
Hiding in Public I feel like maybe I didn’t get my point across clearly enough I don’t think it was forced in this video because In the mob video you talked about people watching the channel for you as well as the content your making videos on . So in this video we’re here for haikyuu ofcourse but you putting your own take on how you reflected on the characters was a good addition and the combination is what made the video great hope it clarifys it
@@gar7672 ahh okay I understand now. Thanks, that video came out almost a year ago now, happy to see someone still watch the video and keep what I said in mind
Daichi is the kind of character that has inspired me to be a better leader and Suga for me was the one to be a better athlete this show has meant so much to me this past year and half and I can’t wait for the new season
Have you ever watched Diamond no Ace? I feel like you'd have a lot to say about the main character's development throughout the series. The lows he experiences are, I think, one of the most visceral portrayals in anime of what athletes may feel when they find that they are unable to do something they desperately want to. But just as importantly, the way he manages to pick himself back up and even raise the team's morale...it's just inspiring and heartfelt. I always say that Diamond no Ace is the best sports anime to watch after seeing Haikyuu because they approach the team dynamics and school rivalries in a very similar way.
Catching up on these videos as I've just finished season 3: "I hope you all have a great 2020 as we start off and go into the year, let's aim for more control over our own thoughts and the direction of our lives." bruh
Sorry if I am late to the party but I was just playing the golden deer path in 3houses. But I have come here to say to have a good new year and that this was a cool video. Also question: would you go up against me on smash? Just asking because I don't really have anyone to play against.
The golden deer route was great, second path I played. FE:3H in general was one of the best games of the year probably best Nintendo release imo. As for smash, I do have smash and have online but I don't really play smash and am not all that good at it. I've basically just played enough to unlock the characters so when I visit my sister we can play a few rounds together. Not really all that into smash though sorry
@@HidinginPublic don't worry I don't really play smash a lot cause I have other games that need my attention like Collection of Mana and Fire Emblem SoV, So you don't need to worry about it 🙇🏻♂️

There are so many bomb moments to get hyped on

Great video, I enjoyed your analysis on the seniors and their different personalities!
Thanks and yeah ennoshita needs some love every now and then. I'm super excited for season 4 and it's soooo close
@@HidinginPublic you're welcome! I know right? I can't wait! :D
Starting off 2020 with a motivational video about Haikyuu? Yes please.
Heck yeah good vibes and Haikyuu season 4 all around
I just gotta say i love your videos! You have amazing and accurate analogies of each character and every video of yours is so in depth i love it!!
No one ever talks about Sugawara!!! Thank you for this, and could you please get Nux to do some similar videos?
Thankyou for your great videos from over the last year, it was calming to watch over the last year and I'm looking forward to more in the new year
Thanks for the good vibes. Hope you stick around and hopefully I keep growing along the new year
Damn the message of this video is so timely to where I am at the moment. Thank you.
I absolutely love your content
Thank youu!
When he said karasunos best receiver Nishinoya sneezed
Welllll, I was talking about before Nishinoya joined back in season 1 but I should have been more clear
@@HidinginPublic kageyama and suga sneezed when you said they were servers
I love this video to death and it’s helped me flesh out Asahi a bit more, I didn’t realize how much meaning he had whoops but I’m going to be honest I couldn’t help but laugh when you said, “I hope you all have a great 2020” it’s just terribly ironic
Yeah my positivity there aged badly to all of our misfortune
You are awesome hiding love ur vids
Thank you for the good vibes
Oh boy i really hope this isn't your last video about Haikyuu because i really love how you talk about this show 💘
Oh it won't be, I love this show haha. I'm happy you enjoy what i've tried to put together here
Another great Haikyuu!! video. Love to see you enjoying this show so much! This just makes me even more excited for the new season!!! Happy New Year man!
Thank you! Happy New Year! Peak hype is here less than a week to season 4

I really enjoy your video essays on haikyuu, i feel like you capture the messages projected by the character very well
Everyone on the karasuno team has an important role to play. It may seem trivial to us, but it's essential.
Well, besides narita and kinoshita😅
Thanks, i'm glad you think I get something across. Haikyuu s4 drops in less than an hour!
i dont know how you can make such a interesting video thats fun to watch even tho i have never watched haikyuu i dont really watch sports anime but i liked your last video on this show as well so might have to try and watch haikyuu at some point
I am the opposite of a 'sports person' but I love Haikyuu. I'm sure there'd be somethibg you could enjoy. Also thanks, glad that the video was engaging despite being about something you haven't watched
Love the video (felt short after benging the entire 3rd season)
haha I imagine it would feel short. It was probably good binging though
this video is inspirational af
Happy you feel that way
YES I LOVE YOUR VIDEOS!!
❤️
Hiding in Public thank you ^_^
I always enjoy the persona OST in the bg. you will be the one to get me into Haikyuu!! lol
haha thanks. The ending piano before my outro is from Catherine: Full Body as well. It's another game ATLUS publishes aside from persona. I really like the stuff they put out
@@HidinginPublic I'm sure the OST for Catherine is great as well. I'll have to check it out later!
Setter, you mean. Great content bro.
another haikyuu video
Me either!
Great video! Keep it up 👊
Thank you! I'll do what I can. Hopefully I can improve this new year
I can’t believe a haikyuu analysis video cured my depression
Idk if a joke, but hope you enjoyed it
At 9:00 I’m glad I watch your mob video as it gave me an insight into you as a creator if this was a random video I watched I would have said it was good but too forced of your own point of view but having that background information made it a great video as your personality shone through
Which Mob video?
There are so many good things to take from this show ans it's characters, and season 4 is almost here!
Great analysis! Just hyping Haikyuu before s4😁,can't wait for it
I'm in big hype mode righy now
Hi, i’m new but I love your work! Keep it up!
Hey thanks i'm happy to hear that. I appreciate the good vibes
4:42 Now we know who the favorite is
the way you say their names and karasuno BAHAHAHA no hate though lol this is an amazing vid
thanks for helping me convince my boys this is not just fujoshi bait
lmao yeah i'm still trying to convince my brother in law of that. Glad my words worked for you haha
Love these dorks
They're the best
The ending be wild 3 years later
I hope everyone has a great 2020 he said. Well that didn't stand
Yeah that one's a big oof
Very encouraging 🙂
The fact that i can give this video only a one like is DISAPPOINTING
Yes acknowledgement of Ennoshita!!!
Sugawara is my favorite of the 3rd years.
