When to put "the" before capitalized nouns: the article "the" and proper nouns

    The Rolling Stones, The Who, The White Stripes, but ... Queen
    Of course you have to memorise it, just as you have to memorise Shakespeare and Michael Jackson. The rule is that proper nouns don't require The, because there's no need to clarify which one you're talking about. There's only one.
    However names are chosen, and sometimes we choose a name that includes The.
    For words that are not names, we might use The, or This, or My, your, its etc
    For names, you cannot substitute The with any other determiner. You cannot say This Crystal Palace, or My Rolling Stones. The is part of their names.

    I was watching Star Trek Voyager, and the character Tom Paris says "That's the Voyager." I think, man, that sounds weird and wrong, but in TNG they say "the Enterprise" and that sounds correct. So I go looking for rules on this stuff and find this video. Then I hear you say "Tom, Paris" and almost threw my phone.
