- We finish the "budget" chapter of our our build and open a new chapter. Project Supercar Killer. Time to take our GT-R to the next level. Take a look at the changes we've made to the car.
rb26 + t51r mod + external wastegate, Andrew you better bless us with uncut track day footage of this beast tearing ear drums.
That thing being so smooth at low rpm and part throttle is definitely in a big part thanks to having a good tuner that tunes for driveability rather than just big power, hats off to the boys at CRD!
Overdrive Media glad you noticed. So hard to teach this to viewers and prove it
That is a YUGE part of it. And not only on paper, but in practise especially, they are NOT streetable parts. Anyone out there could copy this exact combo to a T, and the end result would very well be entirely undriveable on the street UNLESS it was tuned this well by such a capable tuner.
I would happily drive it every day.
If only you guys had a shop in Texas. We are so behind on the R32 chassis, you guy’s videos are super helpful! You guys should visit the US and compete in Tx2k, show these R35 boys what a real GTR is.
why this channel only has 111K subscribers when it should have 1.11M???? Keep up the awesome work guys!
p.s. why your screen doesn't read speed? 27:11
Couldn't agree with you more!!
so pigs cant do him. because street car
Antonis P turn we off when filming for obviously reasons. I have another one you ca. See on camera
@@MotiveVideo ohhhh riiiiight. I didn't think that. You got me there. Thanks for the reply and the awesome videos!
@@MotiveVideo modern problems require modern solutions!! Well played 🤣🤣
Don't mind me.
Just liking and commenting on this video to help UA-cams Algorithm because this channel and video NEEDS MORE VIEWS!!!!
This is a fantastic channel. I don't have my R32 anymore but I like watching just for the education. Thanks for the work you guys put into your vids.
great job Mr. Hawkins. thank you for passing on all your knowledge to GTR owners across the world
Having not read the title before watching episode, I was devastated by your first statement! Then relieved LOL
Have been following this build to see what I want to do with my future street r32!
Same
Brilliant video. Well directed, well edited, great detail and great presenter.
I've been researching high flow fuel systems for a project and your content validated and improved on my info.
Thanks so much. Hope to see you at the track.
Love the content you put out, hands down best build channel available, you're really helping me out with my rb build in the states
Glad we can help
Love love this channel. Wanted to do my R32 after this build. Had to sell the car to fee finances, makes me sad. Glad to see the progress on this GTR though. Waiting to acquire my next car...
awesome video mate! cant wait to hear that screamer on track
Love your videos mate, the daily drive review at the end was fantastic.
Great job guys, that is one hell of a build. I am jealous and I have a long way to get my GTR to your level! Thanks for the Video, Love it!
That gearbox whine is orgasmic, who wouldn't want to hear it? Great build 👌👌
Another well done, detailed video! Thanks hawk, Motive and affiliates!
Ooft! Can't wait to see more! Man it gets up on boost and cracks the gate pretty quickly too👌 p.s. if anyone complains about a straight cut gear whine they're definitely not a car guy!🙅♂️
Awesome work guys, it's always interesting, learning new stuff and gett new ideas for new setups on my BNR34 :) Keep us updated!
I am so stoked for your awesome r32 and its future progress. I need to save up more money to afford to buy one for myself. Please keep up the great work and thank you for your unbeaten informative videos.
Thank you always a pleasure to watch
Awesome update mate! Let's see it running on the strip
I take my hat off to this guy! The time, dedication to details and quality content from Andrew are second to none! Big thank you & shoutout from Perth WA!
Some sound proofing over the transmission tunnel might help with the whining sound in road driving...Dynamat, foam and mass loaded Vinyl
Awsome work. Now it's back on the road i can plan my next trip across the ditch to include an event ull have the gtr at.
A lot of people disregard how streetable is a monster car like this. So the slow driving footage is indicative of how far technology has moved on. You aussies have buried the japanese, in terms of RB engine development. Godspeed fellas
It's all about the noise love it
So glad you done the street drive. Mine is just about done and has allot of the same stuff and was wondering how it would drive on the streets in nz
I wonder you guys do with the parts that's replaced? You guys can open a parts shop lol..Great work!! Keep the vids coming!
Love this build guys keep up the good work!
Awesome videos, cars not bad either !
absolutely amazing content and just keeps getting better. thank you
Well done on the build.
3:08 that sound 😢❤
This is so great and so informative!
My gawd Hawkins love whats happening here.
I love motive they show you the best big boy toys out there. The skyline whisper Andrew
This car is literally absolute goals for any r32
Thank you motive for all you do from a petrol loving motor head.
silicone doesnt melt, it hardens in extreme 300+ celcius temps and becomes like glass. I make silicone hoses for a living.
Anima chinese 1 does haha
@@ngaydodaubuon its plastic then, not silicone
In regarding to silicone hose? Im sure it does melt if it sitting on manifold i had that problem it leave a hole
@@ngaydodaubuon weird. The ones we do here wont melt
Yeah speedflow looks way better. But in most applications put some fire sleeve over the hoses. Then it's fine. I'd still do speedflow if I had the budget too.
Had a heart attack and thought you sold it 😂
Well done :)
Dam! It doesn’t get much better than that!
Fantastic !
im a supra guy.. always have been but your videos make me want a GTR
Great engine or AWD. Pick one :-/
@@andersjjensen After a certain amount of HP AWD is crucial
@@dimmacommunication Yeah. Wide body kits that are as wide as the car it self look kinda ridiculous.. but an RWD man needs moar rubber :P
Amazed by how docile it is on the street, I felt like i had been in a wrestling match after driving my old 33 for more than an hour.
Will people be able to have a closer look at the car at GTR festival?
20:24 even more so when the street just so happen to be Parramatta road haha lol
Long live the RB. Im a SR guy though. Id love to get a 150amp alternator for my 200SX turbo(S13)
The new hood looks like a Top Secret one.
Been waiting for a gtr update for so long, and now I see why. Playing no games now!
Can't wait to see more
Fantastic work guys. It looks amazing.
Car looks amaz-ballz!
Awesome video guy's can't wait to see it on the track😎😎😎
A lot of mods for 1 video!
I can't see that electric fan flowing anywhere near the factory clutch fan. You can add some silicon oil to the factory hub to make it a bit tighter or just restore it back to factory specs.
Jimbob go and look up how much a SPAL fan can flow!
even if it flowed less than the clutch fan it being mounted directly to the rad and not relying on a loosely fitting shroud would probably make up most of the difference
@@brendanrandle For a race car an electric fan is perfect. Heaps of flow at low speeds when you aren't making power.
Heaps of guys rip out clutch fans in their 4wdrives and replace with electric only to have overheating issues (high load, low speed). The amount of air a clutch fan can move at 4000rpm and higher is ridiculous. Again in a race application you are moving fast and the hub is robbing you power. I vaguely remember 10kw or so on my R33.
yesssss man i really want a gtr32 with a sequential, seems I can now import one in FL. Not sure the wife will approve :)
Really well done!
These videos are so handy for my rb25 r33
Just subscribed!! Great content
The t51r mod sounds amazing
Love it sounds awesome!
I love this channel ❤️
Nice work..sounds like driving my lada niva lol..Should move that battery isolator away as far from the fuel line as possible tho. 1000 litres per hour is Only 300 millilitres a second.
I'm so excited and I just can't hid it :)
would love to see this at Targa Tasmania
Hey hey, now...The highest flowing in tank pump is the Walbro 525lph pump! much more than the DW400! at the same load and pressure! Isn't going divided with a single waste gate a bit inefficient? Wouldn't Divided and twin gates help more in regards to spool as it's not mixing exhaust gas at the gate!? Always awesome videos BTW!
SovL:Remedy there is a divider in the wastegate attachment all the way up to the valve of the gate, keeping it twin scroll until the valve opens, when twin scroll effect is no longer needed
@@MotiveVideo Ahh, Fair call, Yeah was unaware and didn't think about how experienced you guys actually are, totally my bad, what a dumb cnt moment lol...Wonder if the divider will ever become a issue when or if it soot's up on the valve cup!?
@@BUZDRIFT 6Boost made them a production item and have had no issues
@@MotiveVideo Yeah that's kinda what I'm after but divided and twin WG exits! 6Boost does them too, i think!?
You could just throw nos and a 3.2 in it... pfffttt you know you want that rb30 life :P cant wait to line this thing up.
Im in the U.S. and have a friend here who is from AU who has told me how insane your driving laws are. How do you get away with modifying and driving a car like that on the street? Don't they purposely look for cars with any modifications? BTW, love how far this car has come and loved this video!
They have task forces to pull over cars. if you have a modded car its like 1940 in Germany and yore car is a jew dosent end well mostly ends in IT being taken away :(
Love the build, but I'd like to see that Mazda mx6 gt, I had a non-turbo dx I learned to drive on and it was a blast. Let's see some of that thing.
ryubiggie well get to it soon. We generally work on one car at a time
Fantastic
haha you drove past my old school st pats
RB26 and a big turbo. ohhh yes
Another awsome video from motive video!
It was already a byebye when you used the PPG trans 😜
Only just started.
Big Like. 👍🏼 Greetings from KSA 🇸🇦 ❤️
does anyone know how much did the car ended up totaling at around this part of the build?
i have never clicked so quick to watch a video.
Wish my Stagea had all that tech in it.
just a ? do you use an different bearing on the camshaft ? how about occilation from the pump and effect on the belt wear as its get more used becouse of the strain of the pump ? just curious very nice channal for info . woud like some parts like this for my 300zx z32
Drag racing. Neat.
Correct me if wrong but looks like a top secret bonnet
That's what I thought also.
She might be capable of 8 second passes but I'll be surprised if this can do sub 1.45 and 1.05 at smsp and Wakefield.
With some decent, locally made suspension & some good geometry setup, it certainly would be quick.
Who does your RWC’s - I need to know that bloke 😂
The gear noise would drive me crazy. One of the reason why I went with mechanical fuel pump.
mehrshadvr4 we like the gear noise. Let’s us know we’re driving something mental. It’s not that loud compared to other boxes
@@MotiveVideo have you tried WPC treating the gears? That might make them quieter and stronger and less wear on the gears. It's a win win.
In the United States, you need a NHRA License to run a 9.99 or quicker pass.
your hood looks like it made by Top Secret or a pretty good replica of it.
Juan Nugraha it does but the N1 lip integration looks different. maybe it is, maybe its a good copy. no badges on it at all
Now you have the big alternator might be time for an electric power steering pump
David Cooper looking into it.
Been waiting for this!!
Great video as always, but unfortunately that car is not safe for driving on the streets as it sits. Those pool noodles on the cage aren't going to do you any good in a crash. You need high density foam on all areas where your head could hit in a crash (sides/front/rear). You move around A LOT in a crash. The best is to have a removable front cage with FIA fittings to connect the cage together for track driving where you will be driving with a helmet. To/from trackdays I drive with the front roll cage mounted, but then always with a helmet. For street only half cage (welded) with padding on rear sides/rear. FIA approved foam padding.
topgunm it has high density foam around drivers head as per what is required by IHRA to be techies for drag racing.
What roll cage do you have installed?
Oi mate just building this system right now as a reply from Herman himself on the first video suggested I take from this. I did note one thing whilst spec'n this out, that the dw inline pumps do not incorporate check valves in themselves. So in theory would it be optimal to run dual check valves on both the pump and alt feed entrances?
Something I always wonder is how often do you have to overhaul those PPG gearboxes? Looking like a great car. About to do ross trigger kit on mine to push for 10's on -5's.
StixBNR32 you only service them if you race them. Most sequentially do 5000 race kilometres.
PPG said there is no service interval unless you do circuit or 8 second drag car. Street driving doesn’t require service interval. Usually engine breaks first anyway lol
I'd love to know what the finished product would cost if you dropped your car off @ CRD and asked for the same. Wouldn't be surprised if they do a Motive Package due to this
It’s a ICB or a knockoff veilside hood. I’m pretty sure one of those
We found out It’s genuine Top Secret dry carbon. Worth a lot of money.
At 17:00, why did you decide against a fan shroud? Space r3easons, not needed, something else?
For a drag car, I can see that you won't need it, but in a track application, seems like a good idea to me.
I would love to know.
Track Racing Society doesn’t need a shroud as the thermo fan itself has a shroud around it and is up against the radiator. PWR said it doesn’t need a shroud too
Negative pressure duct in bonnet will help m pull more air through at speed too
So how much did it cost though? And I'm not two far in the video
What's the benefit of the ross trigger kit over the prp kit? Just curious as just about everything else in the build is prp so would assume you would run that as well.
Both work. We had the Ross trigger kit from over a year a go when we fitted their balancer.
Andrew any reason you didn't use the stereo controls on the cluster surround for the haltech buttons?
Forge Performance and 4x4 honest answer. Already had a hole in the dash from where there used to be a little redoubt for immobiliser. Figured this would close up that hole
The intro is baller lol
One man cant have enough skylines
Stepping up the game, eh?
