    Great video and instruction. One 'however' is I wish you showed the action of the cleanser being mixed in your palm as an example of what to expect.

    I made this but I used grapeseed oil I love it I just put it straight to my face and I add the water there to make the emulsification but if you put it in your hand is kind of like a gel is not runny is an everyday cleanser.

    I made this last night. Worked a dream. Clear easy to follow instructions. Thank you, I really enjoyed making this. The only thing I would change, and that is totally my bad, is I would put the mixture into a more squeezy flip top lid bottle, and not the fancy smancy glass bottle I actually did use.

    Could you make a calendula toner? Really love the kiehls calendula toner but so expensive!
    Also (although I avoid being mushy), I feel I have to say a massive thank you for changing my mind about preservatives and emulsifying wax, which I thought were unnecessary in my effort to lead a more 'natural' life. Your videos are real eye opening, mind expanding fonts of information! So thank you!

    I like using castor oil on my scalp as a pre shampoo treatment, but one thing bugs me: it's really hard to wash off. So I've been wondering if I could just mix in an emulsifier so that it washes off without any problems. If I add this in, is the oil still safe to be left on the hair and scalp for some time before washing?

      Hi! Do you have the INCI for the emulsifying wax you purchased? It's quite odd that it won't mix with oils 🤔 A lot of different products/ingredients are sold as "emulsifying wax" so knowing exactly what it is will help. I'd also recommend comparing the INCI of what you have to the different emulsifying waxes I have documented in the Humblebee & Me DIY Encyclopedia (www.humblebeeandme.com/diy-encyclopedia/) :) Fingers crossed we get this sorted!

    • @HumblebeeAndMe

  • @aleirbag914
    @aleirbag914 6 років тому

    Hi Marie, some of your recipes call for Polysorbate 20 but sometimes it tweaks for Polysorbate 80. What's the difference between both polysorbates? In the case of this recipe specifically, can Polysorbate 20 be used to sustitute olivem 300 and is it ok for sensitive skin?

    • @HumblebeeAndMe
      @HumblebeeAndMe  6 років тому +1

      Polysorbate 80 is best suited for solubilizing lipid based oils (carrier oils), whilst polysorbate 20 is best for solubilizing essential and fragrance oils. The Olivem300 swap isn't something I can give you a generic yes or no on-it would depend on the recipe and the use. Olivem300 does have some solubilizing abilities, but I wouldn't recommend it as a universal alternative for either polysorbate.

    How do you get a great mix for your essential oils? Did you do a course in EO mixing?

    • @HumblebeeAndMe
      @HumblebeeAndMe  6 років тому

      It's kind of like baking or cooking-I'll start with something I like, but perhaps it's a bit heavy, so I lighten it with something brighter. Or perhaps something is a bit too sweet, so I mellow it out with something a little spicy or fresh. I haven't done a course or anything-I just try to think about what characteristics of the EOs might play off oneanother well :)

    What kind DRY OIL I can use instead of CASTOR OIL?
    Thank You!

      Castor oil is in here because it's a wonderful cleansing oil-it actually boosts the cleansing power of the cleansing oil. I would not waste your money incorporating a dry oil (which are typically much more expensive than castor oil) in a product where the dry-ness really won't make any difference at all to your experience or the performance, and you're basically just pouring it down the drain.

      Thank You Marie! I used grape seed oil and the result was very nice. Can you make a beautiful clear cristal non greasy serum for all of Us? Blessings!

    Love the recipe.
    But I think it’s a bit of too much talk at the beginning..I mean to get to the actual recipe I had to scroll forward. Overall great. Thanks.

      If I don't say those things I get dozens of questions asking for that information 🤷🏻‍♀️

      Humblebee & Me yeah but to get to the actual recipe, it takes 4:17..so your talking in a chit chat style is longer than the actual recipe which is 7:53 long. Maybe it’s better to get to the video first only giving essential must-know info then get to the recipe. I just found it too long for more than 4 min of talk.

      Humblebee & Me As someone who has no idea what they’re doing, I appreciate all the information I can get. All I do is binge watch your videos once my son goes to sleep and take notes 😂, so thank you for the awesome content! 🥰
