    Story Time: I was at my local music store, in their acoustic room, trying out some guitars. When this old couple walks in, looking around, they seemed like they were just passing through town, visiting, decided to stop in and see the guitars. So I'm still playing guitar, minding my business.. Then the man and the woman approached me, just gazing at the guitar I was playing, enjoying it,. So I sort of stopped playing, figured they'd want to talk to me. Then the man asked me if They could just, listen in on me playing, I happily agreed. So I continue to play THIS song, "All Laid Back and Stuff" They seemed very, very into the song, They really enjoyed it, and thanked me so much for playing for them. It was the first time that's ever happened to me. I was so glad to make their day that way. Thank you, Mr. McKee. For all the amazing music you bring in this world for the little moments Like this.

      it's cuz he is all laid back and stuff...you know?

    • @dynamorphic
      @dynamorphic 9 років тому +1

      I bet the way he got the name, is because he was playing it at first (Knowing what to name it..) and some hippy came to see him and said, "Dude..That sounds like...All.. laid back..And stuff, man.. Nice."

    • @pbhushanbsb
      @pbhushanbsb 9 років тому

      Dynamorphic .. LOL .. that's nice explanation .. but he explains it everytime he plays at a gig.. One of his friends called him up when he was composing this track, the friend went "how's it goin man".. And Andy goes "nothing.. all laid back n stuff".. and that got stuck to the tune.

    • @dynamorphic
      @dynamorphic 9 років тому

      Well I've never seen him live. But yeah. That's awesome.

      Dynamorphic old comment, but dude you’re basically 100% right XD. He was playing it for one of his buddies and he said”that’s all laid back in stuff”. So yeah that’s where the title came from. You sir are a profit

      There's your answer right there. I'd guess 50% of the comments are from life-less UA-cam twits who have little better to do than trolling around down-thumbing things that others find enjoyable. The other 50% found this video through searching the word "laid".

    Amazing. His level of mastery is so high that the mechanics of playing no longer matter. It is in the realm of pure expression. And I love that he has those deep resonate bass lines coming from the same instrument.

      I know I’m necro-posting here. But the greatness of music is not in its technicality.

    Andy McKee has made my life so much better since I was introduced to his music. He is a phenomenal musician both technically and emotionally.
    I feel like the fact that there are ONLY 62 dislikes is absolutely incredible. 62/1,228,597 is only .00005% of the views and .0136% of people that actually commented about whether they like it or not. That's just plain amazing that it still does not even reach a tenth of a percent.

    Hard work will outshine natural talent 100% of the time :) - and I'm sure that Andy McKee would agree with me.

    This makes guitarists that come on the radio sound like a bunch of noise that is in tune together. Andy's on the other hand, tells a story with no words.. An aesthetic journey from beginning to end [ =

    I was 19 when I first heard this and had just started playing guitar trying to figure out which way I was gonna go.. After watching Andy I dropped my pick and never looked back.
    Now here we are 15 years later, and I still feel the same way.. So, from my 34 year old self to my 19 year old self.. This is one decision you made that stuck. Thank you Andy Mckee.
    P.S If you want to learn Andy Mckee songs their isn't a better song than this one to start out with.
    it'll teach you the basics of his songs and remember no matter the song of his stay "All Laid back And Stuff" don't force it, and just let it happen.

    whats most amazing is that he takes us all away from here. its 4:30 in the morning here in chicago and it jus started to snow bout an hour ago, its so peaceful out and the song here makes it so much better, as we evolved we used sounds and later music to convey emotions,tell storys and such what i think andy mcgee proves is that we can all still be human but the world atm is putting an end to that, he is clearly free of these constraints and reaching effortlessly into his mind and giving to all.

I got to meet & chat w/him afterwards. He's a sincere, very friendly, down to Earth guy. Thank You, Andy. Now, if only he could convince Don Ross to come south from Canada w/him...
