Why are some professors so rude?

Rude professors and rude students sometimes do not get along. Here we were asked about why some professors are rude to students.

I had to tell students that if they missed an exam I had to know immediately and needed either a note from a doctor or a police report. Before I routinely made this announcement it was surprising how many students would want a make up exam a week after the scheduled exam or would say they did not know they could not miss an exam.

Lol the Sheldon Cooper professors. All the episodes when he has to teach and interact with students always cracks me up!
I think you have something about the contention that to an intellectual, the rest of the world seen half witted. lol. That said professor, I doubt you yourself have any rude bone in you.
