    It sounds quite bluesy. Billy Gibbons used 7 gauge strings on his Guitar to emulate the Sitar string bending on his Guitar.

    Thanks Will, very helpful exercise! Does the "strength" for the bend come from the fingers, from the wrist or both? It looks like you have your wrist locked and are just bending your fingers. As a beginner, I'm finding myself bending my wrist as well for extra force. I'm assuming this is not what should happen?

      Good question Lee, Most of the strength should come from the fingers. The wrist should stay stable and un-bent. However as you increase the tension for a larger bend, you'll feel the muscles in the forearm below the wrist engage to accomplish that. The key is keeping the curvature of the fingers so that they can pull the string downwards. I hope this helps clarify a bit.
