- I hope anyone who got the chance to try the Office of Compline, can try this one as well. The Divine Office is prayer in song.
I learned to pray, by first listening to them being sung by the monks and then singing the psalms as well at Mount St Bernard Abbey.
Now I live in Texas, but the abbey will always be a place I go to in my quite thoughts.

I’m no Member of any monastic order like the Franciscans or the Dominicans. But I consider the Liturgy of the hours a part of my daily Catholic life.
I have to agree with you Alan. Although I can not do as many as I want to. The Order I was around a lot was the Cistercian Order in Leicestershire England.
I wish I was a monk! But I have a wife and family but I do pray the liturgy of the hours and try to make a retreat at a monastery once a year. God bless you all

Hi Elaine, Compline was always my favorite office. It’s a beautiful end to the day and at Mount Saint Bernard Abbey the Salve Regina was sung in the dark, except for 1 beam of light on Our Lady’s statue at the rear of the church. 😎

Not sure what you mean about me being transferred, I might not be in the United Kingdom anymore but this is the style from Mount St Bernard Abbey, Leicestershire. In-case you think I'm a monk nope, I was close to it, but the Lord had a different path for me. :) but there are still days......

I visited Mount St. Bernard Abbey when they sang the whole of the Divine Office in Latin. That was before Vatican II. There are still communities of Benedictine Monks who still use Latin for their liturgy. 'Something to do with their attachment, affection, and esteem for that which has gone before. Orthodox Jews and member of the Orthodox Churches would understand what I mean.
Guys, your video is beautiful, however, your singing need a lot more work. PLEASE!

Very flat and not uplifting. They should have stayed with their traditional monastic Latin chant like the Benedictines of Pluscarden Abbey. It sounds like an Anglican evensong.
