With the new transmission cooling lines, theres no o-ring seal on the inside. I would recommend throwing some water pump gasket maker on the threads before installing those fittings. Maybe overkill, but I say worth. I had coolant evaporation that left behind silica crystals, so I am very adverse to even imperceivably slow leaks.
Look... It's habit. Lol. Every time I shoot one of these videos I spend a solid 10 minutes asking myself which version I should say... and then raydeeayder comes out. Thanks for watching. -Merideth
I JUST INSTALLED THIS SAME RADIATOR YESTERDAY AND BURPED THE SYSTEM BUT WHEN I TURN IT ON TO SEE IF ANY LEAKS FOR LIKE 10 to 12 MINUTES I TURN IT OFF AND THE RADIATOR CAP STARTED STEAM COMING OUT LIKE THERE WAS NOT ENOUGHT PRESSURE NOW THIS NEW ALUMINUM RADIATOR CAME WITH A 1.1 CAP AND MY OLD RADIATOR WAS 18 psi. SO WHAT DO I DO? WHAT TYPE OF PRESSURE CAP AM I SUPPOSE TO HAVE IF THE NEW RADIATOR CAP DOESNT WORK. ?
I have this radior on my 90 yj. I went through 3 factory style units in a year. They are all crap. Mopar no longer makes this part. This was easy to install and has been flawless for 6 plus months now of primarily daily driving.
Is it still holding up? I bought a 98 jeep, radiator busted within a week, bough new one from oreleys and took jeep off road and radiator busted, got it swapped under warranty , but honestly don’t trust it. Thinking of buying this, I’m running electric fan.
@@FishDADDY. I'm running stock clutch fan. Mine is a 4.2 (90 yj) My electrical system doesn't like electric fans. I also stroked out my motor to a 4.7L and a comp x cam. I also added a TB fuel injection kit from Howell FI. This radiator is more than enough for my motor so yours should be fine too. (Fyi.)

Really good video. I'm ordering this radiator for my 2001 TJ to replace the cracked OEM plastic radiator.

What’s the size on the fittings for the transmission cooler? I need to order some. In the middle of a swap and the OEM fittings don’t fit…
Me Too ! What did you find out !
