Going a bit farther back, I seem to recall some frustration at Revenge of the Sith being the only SW film (at the time) not released on VHS, making a complete VHS collection of the saga. It could perhaps be argue that this was another 'irrational based on the market at the time,' although I'm not 100% sure on the market; Star Wars may have been a trend-leader there.
I'd certainly argue that this was more of a rational one, given the state of the market overall, and that ROTS was released on VHS in many other regions, just not the U.S.
I have a M*A*S*H Complete Series box that includes the film. As a side note, is there a chance that you can upload a video of your shelf behind you Nathan?
Stargate SG-1 complete series included both TV movies (Ark of truth and continuum) but didn’t include the theatrical film, or the directors cut of the pilot episode (children of the gods). I really enjoyed watching this, thanks Nathan
I believe the old release of the X-Files complete series boxset did include the first movie. Whilst it might be uncommon/rare for complete series sets to include movies, it's certainly not impossible or non-existent.
I must add that from a technical side of things the Blu-ray release of TCW 6th season is inferior because it has lossy Dolby Digital audio track opposed to lossless DTS-HD MA track on 3-5 seasons Blu-ray release (the first two seasons got same Dolby Digital treatment).
Is it an irrational disappointment that no release of the Yoda arc in Season 6 of TCW includes the brief, German-exclusive scene of Yoda's ship leave Coruscant and jumping to hyperspace? Not the Blu-Ray or Disney+.
My most irrational disappointment is the blu ray Rise of Skywalker NOT having the loading cartoon of a droid or character in the movie. Instead its the standard, dull, cheap, circular loading sign. In Force Awakens, BB-8, in Last Jedi it was a Porg. I would have like the droid D-O as a loading character. But I love the prequels and sequels anyway.
I get the borderline rational/irrational for # 5.For me,since I was already seeing DVD dropped from some Blu Ray releases,it wasn't a surprise for me to see it dropped at this point by Disney.Interestingly some Blu Ray releases still include a DVD copy.Warner Bros. seems to still be including a DVD disk with their Blu Ray releases. For example, the upcoming The Matrix Resurrections Blu Ray release is included a DVD copy.
So there's a top five disappointing list here, just a food for thought, why not a Top 5 Exciting Home Video Releases that you were excited to invest in? :)
@@ChronoRadio overall it's thinking of things you were hyped to buy that was new. That's why instead being disappointed you were excited kind of thing. :)
I thought you were going to bring up the disappointment that the blu ray set for 1-5 of Clone Wars didn't have a blu ray sized box of its own more than the brief mention. It still kinda bothers me.

If only there was a video release of "The Clone Wars" series in chorological order....

Hmm. I'll have to think about that one. I do like the idea of often doing counterpoint lists, but not sure what I'd include.
