Tony, I like your teaching method on UA-cam of keeping it short and under 5 mins.. (Our attention spans are too short for a 25 min. lesson). Looking forward (to continue) to learn from inside the lab in the New Year.
Tony, very informative video. I have noticed that when I take my time on the takeaway and setting the backswing in the flamingo drill, the downswing is pretty close to being automatic. It feels effortless and the strike is pure. I now need to take that feeling to the next level by adding speed to the swing. What drills do you recommend to encourage a faster swing? Thanks! Really enjoying the Golf Lab.
Proprioception is what you sense when you move. The velocity of your hands, the pressure of your hands on the grip, your sense of balance, etc. I think you are asking about ballistic motor patterns. Ballistic is just defining a type of motion that is very fast for humans. In the golf swing, the backswing can be considered a feedback motion where you have time to sense and make adjustments. The downswing is just go, especially after the transition. The muscle firing patterns is different and high rate of force. I've measured this using EMG.

David Popp thanks David. Check out the private IGL video in the methodology section of the site. It's IGL Motor Control 2.
Hello. Can you please explain propioceptors as well simplistic and as well as you did feedforward and feedback motor control?
