"Latest Greatest Inspiration" and "It don't Hurt Now" are Teddy's less popular songs but in my opinion some of his best work. And in the right situation may bring tears to your eyes. "Turn off the Lights" and "Close the door" are popular singles if you want more Teddy but you can go even further back when Teddy was the lead singer for Harold Melvin and the Blue Notes " Don't leave me this way " & " The love I Lost " or "Wake up everybody" are hits from that group !

@@broncomcbane6382 , Benson version off double album living inside your love was NOT a disco version, it was a slick, well produced R&B track. You, like most make the mistske of lumping all R&B songs of that era into the disco genre. Boogie Wonderland by EW&F got the same treatment. While it was a great dance song, its construction, production, arrangement and musical sophistication was more R&B. Many artists and songs got swept up in the anti Disco backlash, when they were really well crafted R&B. Then MTV came along and helped destroy the industry and especially black artists and groups!!!! "Baby you won't be under any kind of pressure!".."Good, cause I can not stand pressure." Was too young to realize that he was teaching you how to spit game over the radio..lol
Teddy's music was certified panties removal music, set the mood...just dim the lights then throw on some Teddy and get ready for love. Teddy's & Marvin Gaye's music both had that subliminal love making effect on women. Music (mood music) is mind control. lol

welcome to the world of Teddy. When I was 19 years old this music changed my life, and my relationships with women. My friend owned a night club, and I introduced him to Teddy P, Marvin, Major Harris, and Billy Paul to name a few. The end of evening (find a partner people) set was always Come on and go with me, Turn out the lights (teddy p) Lets make a baby (Billy paul)... Changed my life, the way I listened to music, the way I treated women, the way I made love. I owe you Teddy, and all those who came before you...
Teddy Pendergrass was the best voice! He was the voice of Harold Melvin and the Blue Notes. Remember the song, 'If You Don't Know Me By Now.' Yup, that was him! Anyway, my favorite is, 'Close the Door'. Check it out, please.
Play It don’t hurt now. You can’t compare the songs. They are individual masterpieces. Saw him at the Greek Theatre in think 78 or 79. Amazing. Check out his work with Harold Melvin and the Blue Notes.
I figured out that what makes great music is in "some" cases is the beat, but in all the lyrics. All songs that are considered as classics are songs we can relate to in a way. When you hear a classic it remind you of a person, place or certain time in your life. As soon as you hear the 1st note you go "Ooouu this my jam". I can't relate to " I shot you 5 times then jumped in the Lambo"..Lol👀Are you SERIOUS? And I was born in 83.
