Sorry, I made a mistake for the settings of the picture at 9:22 it's of course: 1/200sec f4 ISO 100 at 16mm ... Of course, all the correct setting are on my blog > hkvisuals.com/1-light-1-modifier/ Wishing you all a fantastic week!
No matter how many times I have seen your videos before they are always just as breath taking. No doubt some of it has to do with the great soundtrack that brings an amazing mood to your videos.
Your videos are vibrant, very enjoyable. Great locations. Hard-working models who are more than just attractive and who wear colourful costumes. I like your underexposed background and brightly lit subjects. Thanks.
Mate...just wanted to say from Oz that we love your laid back style and chilled approach. Loving your shots and locations...I really like the portrayal of dance in older, historic locations - such environments are difficult to find sometimes in Australia. In any case, thanks for your efforts and generosity in sharing your expertise and thoughts. Cheers...
You make the best videos man. And btw that advice to watch your older vids is right on. You have an entire catalog available to anyone who is interested in your work, so stop with the same old questions people. You’re driving the man crazy here.
Your work is simply amazing! Long time ago I realised that flash and combining flash and movement is way to go si I went this way but you master it! Great work!
Another incredible video! I love the behind the scenes perspective. I’ve learned so much from all of your videos. It’s particularly helpful to see the angles you’re shooting from on the ground! Thanks for all the creativity!
do you still use rental cameras and lenses for your paid gigs? Do you also only use rental strobes? Do you have any interchangeable lens camera of your own?
😍 Wow, again, once more: Man, this is really great stuff on this channel. Besides the superb images and hints, you have a killer cool background music. Can you link to it please. The behind the scenes clips also show how important it is to work with pros doing sport photography: they constantly can repeat the moves until best possible shot is in camera. Btw, checking your channel info: you're France based? Cool.
Yes, working with professionals helps a lot. I am currently based in the south of France, in Toulouse! This is one of the songs, not sure which one you prefer: ua-cam.com/video/F9mpWD7RL2g/v-deo.html
I am using Broncolor Siros L 800ws lights... and I used to work with a Canon 5D III now I sometimes rent the EOS R and Mark IV... but these days I am often Using the Fuji GFX50s
@@Hkvisuals I have been thinking about the Fuji GFX. I picked up the XH-1 a few months ago and really like the images the Fuji produces. But since I have the Hasselblad H5D it's hard for me the justify the cost. Paid $20K for the Hasselblad a few years back. But I do like the versatility of the Fuji so I may pull the trigger, deciding on the GFX 50 R or GFX 100. I have also been a medium format shooter for the most part and still shoot film from time to time.I own most all the major brands from Canon, Nikon, Sony ,Mamiya etc. Camera's are like children to me; they all have their different personalities :)
Heyyyy am recent subscriber cool channel. Do you lock in the focus or do you refocus every shot. Like the low tripod shot is the focus locked in? Thanks.....ohhh yeahh I know it's a year old video but am going through them haha.
Thank you as always .... great video ...! I do have a question for you - Now, just to be clear - I have checked to see if you've answered this in the past, and I don't think you've addressed this before, so here goes. Following your amazing shots with a wide angle lens, I've sold my first child and bought a 16-35GM f/2.8 to help me create those environmental dance shots you do so exquisitely. Coming from a landscape background, I know that distortion is always a challenge with this type of glass. Do you have to pose/frame the dancer to take distortion into account, or is it handled in post? Thank you in advance ... Keep up the great work ..... :)
I've addressed this before, ha, ha! But no worries, In my video on Wide angle lenses... If you look closely at all the shots made at 24mm and wider, I usually center my model in the frame to minimise distortion. To make the shot interesting I usually play with symmetry. Bur sometimes I do want a bit of distortion... To give my dancer longer legs for example!
@@Hkvisuals How embarrassing for me ... lol. Ok, well thank you for responding. I've a shoot on Saturday with a dancer in a street with lots of umbrellas strung over it. Need to go wiiiide, so I'll keep your tips in mind. Thank you.
It is small! Which explains my conclusion and why I want to change for probably a bigger modifier. but to answer your question, as close as possible to my subject depending on what I am shooting (headshot or full body), for the entire body it's really difficult, I would say roughly around 2 meters away from my model if he/she is standing up...
Very well explained mate, love your channel. How do you get sharp focus , do you shoot AI- Servo ? Single point or expansion or zone?can you please explain this? Really appreciate your help.
I absolutely love your videos, but i have a question for you, and I mean no disrespect. I feel like with the flash the lighting is a bit too harsh. Is that on purpose? Could you get the same effect with a softer light?
Do you feel the same when looking at the pictures on my blog post? I feel the highlights for example are harsh in the video only... of course you can work with a softer light
No one should hate on the gear you used, they should learn why you use them and pay attention to the product that your clients love. I'm a Hensel shooter and even such a low key brand gets hated on. Anything other than Chinese brands you'll get bashed for essentially.

Thanks a lot for your feedback! It's not easy in France to get these locations... patience and thousands of calls and emails!
I can't wait to go watch them I just found you tonight I think you do amazing work I feel like I'm going to learn a lot from watching your past videos
Have fun!
Thank you for making a short and very precise explanation of the grid
Glad it was helpful!
I watch your videos! Multiple times! But you are right, I’ve only visited your blog a couple of times
The blog is updated from time to time... This means that I sometimes rework the content there, so be sure to go back when you have the time.

Ha, ha, Yeah, it was a joke, I don't mind really, but people sometimes ask me to make a video about a specific subject... and I have already made it!
Your videos and photos are absolutely incredible. Thank you!
You are welcome!

Man this was better than watching my Godzilla movie...way more inspiring to!
The Godzilla movie is that bad ? ha, ha
Around 4:25...freezing action here with shutter speed or flash? 🤔🤔🤔
Flash... shutter here is at 1/200sec
I do like the tripod you are using for the low shots. Can you tell me the make and model? Thanks so much.....
Manfrotto 190 go
Hk Visuals thanks for the info!
thanks for sharing
Thanks for watching!
Next modifier... ¿Have you try the Focus umbrella?
Yes a few Times already, it's only 110cm but it's a cool silver umbrella
Love your Bronis … You are an inspiration to me1
What were the lenses you used in this video?
do you still use rental cameras and lenses for your paid gigs? Do you also only use rental strobes? Do you have any interchangeable lens camera of your own?
I still use rentals on paid gigs... but the strobes are mine! I still own a Canon 24-70mm F2.8 L II and 16-35mm F2.8 L II

Nice shot, if may ask which name of this cable do you use to connect from Camera to laptop ?
the most famous ones... tether tools cables!
How are you able to get the background dramatic? Is it in post or you darken them down using shutter speed?

If I may ask, what distance do you use from this modifier to the model? It looks rather small.
Ok, I saw it now... never mind...

Yeah, I don't understand...
You didnt mention how much you pay for hiring the models i bet they dont come cheap.
I didn't mention it because I don't pay!
Amazing models.
All they gotta do is search the subject they want to look for and add your channels name after it and BOOM if you have a vid it will show up.
Not true! I have watched all your videos...sometimes more then once.. I have learned a lot of techniques and got more inspiration from your shoots
I am kidding of course! Always a pleasure to talk to you guys
